I come here often! This is a gem of a place. Always come here with my husband who is from the UK. It makes him feel like he's back home. Love the ambiance and the old feel. I hope that never changes! Drinks are great, love the 80s music. The food is a hit or miss. I think it depends what chef is working that evening. I would recommend the cheese plate or charcuterie, calamari, steak/prime rib, and jidori chicken, pot pie! What I tried and didn't love: Side door burger- the meat tasted bland and the bun was a bit stale ( think would be best if they used a softer potato bun)

Cancel our VIP card, this experience was bad enough to make this our last visit. Sad to see how far the Side door has fallen. First off they got rid of their regular menu and forced a holiday "prix fixe" (what the waitress called it) menu on everyone. There was absolutely no mention of this on open table when making reservations. Also it wasn't a prix fixe at all - Just a higher priced, limited option menu with one included starter (obviously a way to gouge people during the holidays.) We got over that aspect quickly and ordered... but you'd think with a much more limited menu the food would be extra on point - but everything sorely lagged. The oysters were pathetic. Shriveled, measly, dried out flesh with no trace of liquor at all. We complained but waitress just said sorry. Duck was just ok. Salmon was totally dull and spongey, green beans were rubbery and cold. It was a very disappointing experience for a restaurant we formerly held such high regard for. It was enough that we will not be back.UPDATE: MGMT reached out as seen below. I emailed customer service as requested and never heard back.

SideDoor is nothing short of a good time, especially with service that continuously goes above and beyond expectations. Good food can be found many places throughout Orange County, but the service that JoJo and Will provide is hospitality that makes you feel like family. Fun food and drinks, great service, and a cozy pub like atmosphere are their ingredients for memorable nights on the Coast.

We were looking for something cozy on a "cold" day. Well, we found it here! Food was really good. We all got the prime rib. Was outstanding. Drinks and cocktails were very good as well. Really cool vibe in there. Definitely going back

Several years ago, while staying in Corona del Mar, when it wasn't possible to get a reservation at Five Crowns, my wife and I dined at SideDoor.We ate Kimchi Deviled Eggs; a Wedge Salad; a Prime Rib Sandwich with creamed corn; and a monster plate of Prime Rib Chili Cheese Fries, which were exactly as delicious as you think they are.Some of these items no longer appear on SideDoor's menu, but, though it's been a while, I'm confident in saying that were we in CdM at mealtime, we'd happily stop at the place again. The food was of excellent quality, nicely prepared and served, and the staff were welcoming and enthusiastic. It's hard to mess that up.

Been a long time that i wanted to try this place.Cutest, authentic design and vibe! You feel very British/Brilliant!! Please keep the accentThey sometimes have private parties on the other side but they have same kitchen and menu! Their special cocktail menu is very interesting.I got the house old fashion, very smokey and presentable! Very friendly and knowledgeable server! The cheese board station is very entertaining as well. We got the stake and french onion soup, both very tasty.

Super cute and cozy restaurant. Food honestly not great and pretty bland but the vibes are great.

I had zero bad things to say about this restaurant. You do have the option to have the Lawry's prime ribs, however the whole appeal of SideDoor is its bar-like features & menu. Some must try dishes; ARTISANAL CHEESE PLATE, PRIME RIB CHILI, PRETZEL, and the SHISHITO PEPPERS. ENJOY! PS: Valet parking across the street is $8, but got lucky with street parking!

I love all things Lawrys and thank goodness OC has Five Crowns and Side Door! We wanted something Casual but with good food and a fun atmosphere. SideDoor is definitely all of that! You can order pretty much the entire Five Crowns menu plus SideDoor food. We made reservations through Open Table and were seated promptly. Our server Patty was amazing. She gave us some history on the name and the restaurant and made some great recommendations for my friends who had never been there before. She made sure our table was cleared when we were done drinking or eating. There is street parking nearby but they do have valet available for $8 across the street.

The prime rib with the au jus and the New York strip were my favorites here! We also got the Branzino but that was just OK. The service was amazing though and they were so sweet to bring a complimentary cake for my son for our celebration. The dark chocolate soufflé and the lobster roll were also delicious!!
