Cute natural wine bar with a good selection of natural wines. Seating options inside or out, and usually not too crowded during the week. Wines on tap are hit or miss, but they're usually pretty accommodating with wines by the glass depending on what bottles they have open at the time and what you're in the mood for. Please add prices to the bottles in the shop! Would be nice to browse options without having to ask or be surprised at checkout.

Got a word of mouth recommendation for Semi Tropic Wines and decided to try with my friend! It's located in Costa Mesa on 19th st. Not much parking out front but we parked across the street and just walked across. The ambiance is really cute and moody with dimmed lighting. Great selection of wines and they also offer wine tastings in a private room which I would like to do next time!We ordered the gouda cheese board and added slices of coppa, it came with bread which was nice. We also ordered the beans which tasted okay but I don't think I'd order again. Great service and plenty of seating inside and outside!Overall we had a great girls night! We sat outside, shared a big bottle of Pinot Grigio and yapped for a few hours. Highly recommend.

What a gem! Right off the bat, amazingly friendly service. Everyone was so friendly with me and my dog, we both fell in love right away haha. I had their Grenache Blanc and it was deliciousssss! They have a very nice selection which I look forward to trying more of. We also had some of the sourdough bread with olive oil and balsamic. I asked Hailey, who was absolutely amazing and mainly who helped us, if there were vegan options and she gave the pickles, sourdough, marcona almonds, and onnnne other thing (that of course I forgot now lol) as options. Nice to know I can also snack on a few things while enjoying their lovely drinks. The ambiance is SO nice! They had some great live music going outside, and a line out the door! Such fun vibes. Can't wait to be back!

Stunning ambience and vibe. Jazz Thursday nights will keep me coming back for sure! Small but clear menu with good options for a perfect relaxed, but classy night out. Great date spot or night with the girls! Romantic but casual. Got the white wine "Vinoh Verde" with some of their cheddar cheese and was satisfied.

THE spot for a chill girls' night out! Our group dropped in on a Thursday night to sip, savor, and enjoy the live Jazz. Super cute, aesthetic, and totally hipster. If taking cute pics with little bevies in hand is your vibe, this is the spot! For sips, we took recommendations from the bartender. This was absolutely the move! We told her our notes and absolutely LOVED everything she suggested. For bites, we went with their Cheeseboard featuring various cheeses, almonds, olives, honey, pickled veggies, and sourdough. All made amazing drink pairings! On the particular night we visited, they also had a dumpling pop-up going on if you were looking for some more substantial eats.

I've been wanting to check out Semi Tropic for a while! We came on a Friday night which meant difficult to find parking in their tiny lot, but no worries. We made it in. :)We ordered two glasses of their "disco wine" which the server described as their nicer wine. The price on the menu was listed as market price .... We didn't ask details, just paid. The total for two glasses came out to $45.99!!!! I later saw that included a 20% gratuity for pouring wine that we weren't informed of before ordering sadly :/ and tax. We enjoyed the wine. Loved the ambiance -- it felt like a coffee shop. Very relaxing atmosphere. When we finished our wine, we went into their bottle shop. What did we see but the "disco wine" we had ordered. The whole bottle for $36!!!! Less than what we paid for two glasses. We enjoyed Semi Tropic, but if we return we'll likely just buy a bottle to go since the by the glass prices are gauged so intensely

Why drive an hour plus to go wine tasting when I've got this gem! The aesthetic of this place is beautiful. I've loved it since the first time I stepped foot in there. Semi Tropic definitely grew my love for wine. That wine from Tecate, Baja California! The wine here never disappoints and what they offer to pair with your wine doesn't disappoint as well. Something about that sourdough bread, butter spread and olives is just so good. It's a must for me EVERY TIME! Their prices have gotten even more reasonable by the glass which just gives you more tasty options. The staff is so sweet, knowledgeable and attentive they don't let you sit with an empty glass for too long!

A great spot here in Costa Mesa! They apparently host quite a few pop-up restaurants, which I attended today - Mama Dang's. It's a smaller spot with a small parking lot in the back. I found that a bit stressful, so I went for the larger lot across the street. There's a large dining room inside that's reminiscent of a coffee shop, and a good amount of tables outside. There's live music too, which is a great touch! For wines, I tried both the Pinot Noir, and their non-alcoholic black pepper soda, which were excellent choices for after a day at work.

I have been wanting to checkout Semi Tropic wines for a few months and I'm happy it worked out! Orange County is very limited when it comes to natural wine bars, making this location a sweet snob's haven. I was greeted by Haley who was incredibly helpful and welcoming. She was great at making suggestions and I thoroughly enjoyed the house orange wine I had that is served on tap. It was delicious. Thank you Haley for elevating my experience!I was able to browse the bottle shop and took home a German orange wine that they also sell by the glass that is delicious. The location is a great spot nestled between two other bars. The decor and lighting is very chic and relaxing. They have food pop-ups all the time, making it a place to go back and visit. It's exciting this place exists in OC! Parking is the only tough situation, but it seems people park in the lot across the street. Thank you STW!
