Located in the District at Tustin Legacy, this is a perfect place to have Japanese ramen especially on a rainy day. The day I visited was quite chilly so I had to eat something that will not only warm my body but also heart. When I was about to enter the building, one couple came out and told me that they really enjoyed their meal that they recommend me trying any of their dishes, which I appreciated their opinion. The restaurant has a clean, chic and modern look with wooden chairs and tables, which gave that comfortable and warm Japanese ramen place vibe in Japan. The server was helpful explaining the difference of each ramen and she brought the food quickly one by one. Spicy Garnet broth was savory, thick and rich with right amount of spiciness and the fried garlic slices were bonus that enhanced the flavor. The noodles, chashu and the seasoned egg was tender and tasty that went well with the broth. I also enjoyed the fresh seared salmon sushi and crunchy chicken karaage very much since it was great with the noodle soup.

Solid ramen spot located at the District. I like that their ramen is a vegetarian base since I don't see any places specifically use this as their main soup base. It's nice and light - you might forget that you're having a vegetarian broth.Noodle texture is good and chewy while meats are well seasoned. I go for their Pearl ramen that has salt + umami soup base. It's good but I don't think the taste is super memorable though. It's been consistent each time I go which is nice.Wait times can be short or long depending on when you go. If you go during peak hours...you can expect a hit of a wait. Service is pretty average, but if you go during a busy time it gets pretty bad. The day I went only had 2 servers in the front which wasn't enough for them to handle. You can see how stressed out they were and they were so focused on trying to get tables cleaned they forgot about the people they seated.I did overhear a table waiting a pretty long time for a dish they never got. I think they eventually did get their food, but the looks on their faces showed they were displeased.Hoping the service here can be more consistent since it seems other yelpers had some great experiences here.

Always past by here while walking around The District and have been here 2 times. Overall the ramen is decent and taste has been consistent the both times I've been here. Food is good and can help satisfy a ramen craving, however I wouldn't say it's a go-to ramen place for me.Came here for lunch and dinner before and....unfortunately the main issue I have is with the service. I think the last time I went there was still a hiring notice on the front door but I do believe they should be more proactive with it. Both times I've been here the service is not great and there isn't enough people handling the front - especially when it gets busy. The Friday night we came was pretty packed and there was a wait. But you could visibly see the stress the front staff were having - and I'm sure the kitchen was also stressed out too. I saw some people waiting getting impatient and just wanted to sit down since there was a table available. Upon us getting seated it took a long time before someone could serve us. We were ready to order but no one was bothering to look our way since they were so focused on tables already dining.Eventually we flagged someone down and finally got to order. Getting waters was also a wait and just the overall experience felt so awkward because of how flustered the staff was. It was a little concerning too that they put in an order for another table that came after us too. This place is fine food wise - service can be hit or miss depending if you come during a busy time.

Likes:+ The ramen is pretty enjoyable. Nothing special though.+ Polite, helpful staff.+ Plenty of indoor and outdoor open tables.+ Ample parking on both sides.+ Pleasant ambience and decor.Non-likes:- Small portion size. Despite ordering extra meat, I still needed to eat more food.- The pork chashu has little to no fat.- Exorbitant. My total here could come out to almost $30 and I'd still be hungry.- A ramen order only comes with only 2-3 slices of grilled pork. At almost $20 I would like 4-5 slices.- The ramen noodles are a little hard.- Not a wide range of healthy yummy drinks. Mostly generic high-sugar soda.- Extra $5 to order on 3rd-party apps (UE or DD).I had:$17.50 AMBER +$4 extra pork chashu + tax= $23.17

OVERALL : We grabbed ramen here on a cold rainy afternoon after spending some time at The District in Tustin. This spot specializes in 100% plant based broths using ingredients such as shiitake mushrooms, dashi, carrots, ginger, etc. to produce a flavorful broth. They have a small focused ramen menu, along with some appetizers, sushi, and rice bowls. Service was quick and straightforward, and the store was clean! We didn't have any wait when we visited on a Sat later into the afternoon. PARKING : Located in the Tustin District! Park in the large shared parking lot that surrounds the entire shopping plaza and walk into the shopping area! FOOD/DRINKS :Garnet Ramen (Miso) - vegetable broth, sesame paste, grilled pork, seasoned veggies, green onion, seasoned egg, fried onion, thick noodles -- I enjoyed that the broth was plant based yet still creamy and flavorful. I didn't feel overly full / heavy afterwards, probably due to the vegetable aspect of the broth (less fatty!). It's nice to see that they offer vegan substitutions as well as subs between chicken and pork chasu too! The noodles were cooked well and not too soft, and I enjoyed the toppings included in the bowl. The pork (chasu) was not as tender as I would have wanted it to be, but I'm willing to give it another try and see if it was just that day!

Loved the ramen and sushi deal. Everything came out fast and the service was great. Despite a lunch rush starting to form we got checked on throughout the time there. The menu seemed to have a good selection beyond ramen

Came here for my birthday lunch with my coworkers. Located at the District, parking was easy to find by the theater. We all ordered ramen, and it was pretty good. I wasn't expecting the broth to be good because the broth is vegetable based. I was surprised... it was rich and flavorful. Along with ramen, I ordered the 2-piece salmon and it was yummy. We also ordered the spicy cucumber and that was delish. Service was great. As soon as we were seated, they took our orders right away, and the food came out hot and timely. I'd come here again! Tip: Good value for the kids meal which comes with a side of fries, karage or gyoza for $10! Oh, and check in on Yelp and get a free soda!

I was at the Farmer's Market at The District in Tustin, and I ended up at this restaurant because of a wonderful voucher that was offered at the Famer's Market. See photo attached. Although we tasted both the Quartz and the Pearl ramen entrees, I would recommend choosing the Quartz ramen. My preference for this dish was due to the thicker noodles, creamier broth, and the vegetable included (broccolini). The only thing I would customize next time I'm here would be to switch out the chicken for the pork in the Quartz entree. The Pearl ramen was still adequate, but I was not in the mood for a fishy flavor and I felt like the broth was a little too salty for my taste. The noodles were good, but, like I said, I preferred the thicker noodles that were put in the Quartz ramen. Also, I wish the Pearl ramen had a vegetable in it to make it a more well-rounded meal.I would skip the spicy cucumber. The seasoning/sauce that was put on the cucumber did not penetrate the cucumber and the cucumber was super thick (in my experience, the cucumber is usually more thin which makes it easier to grab and eat). The unique part about this ramen spot is that their broth is 100% plant-based. I appreciate this because when I eat food, not only do I want to enjoy the flavors but I prefer a healthier option. Sometimes ramen broths can be extremely salty and/or fatty which do not make me feel good afterwards. Rakkan Ramen's Quartz broth was flavorful, creamy and plant-based. MmmM umami!Miscellaneous notes: (1) The restaurant is a casual eatery. It is clean and tidy. (2) Parking was easy-- at least on Sunday morning. (3) Great location. There are other restaurants and activities surrounding this restaurant.

I think Rakkan was a decent spot for vegetarians who want to have ramen without sacrificing texture and flavor. There's plenty of seating and service was pretty quick. I'm not sure if I'd come back though. Quartz: Waiter personally recommended this. I think the broth was rich and savory. It definitely felt slightly creamier/richer than other broths I've had. The noodles were the other highlight being well-cooked so that they were bouncy and just a bit chewy. I was pleasantly surprised to be able to find more ramen after every mouthful. The rest of the toppings like the pork, broccolini and seaweed were a bit disappointing though. The pork was thankfully not cooked to the point of being dry but was still soft and easy to have. But it felt like I was eating a slab of chicken breast than your usual chashu. Maybe if they tried using thighs instead? Karage: There was a light crispy layer on the outside but inside was a bit too dry. Not bad though. Furikake Fries: Skip this one honestly. Just felt like plain fries from anywhere. The furikake didn't really add any flavor to the fries. A bit disappointing. Ambiance: wants to feel bougie but the sticky menu said otherwise

There's not many restaurants or meals that would have me itching to write a review about it so others know about their food but Rakkan had me with my phone out immediately typing this up and I haven't even gotten the check yet. Let's dive in. I ordered the Pearl Ramen which is their take on a salt ramen. Firstly, the broth- which is what they seem famous for. It's a vegetable broth so it's lighter than your standard tonkotsu ramen but it did not lack in flavor at all. Bursting with flavor while also staying light. It didn't feel like I was drinking fat like it usually does with flavorful ramens. The oil was very aromatic and you get the full experience when you pick up the bowl to drink the soup. Highly recommend trying it that way to get the full experience. The noodles were cooked al dente and softened slowly in the soup as you continued eating but it was perfect. It may have had bucketwheat in it to give it that extra bounce but I don't know. The pork was seared beautifully. You can just get that slight aburi scent of a well torched meat. I loved that the egg was the same temperature as the soup. Often times you get pre cooked eggs in ramen shops here in America so they're colder than the rest of the bowl and it's not a pleasant experience. An absolutely excellent experience. Try this place out while you have the chance! This has been the best bowl of ramen I've had in a while. If you're a ramen lover, especially if you usually like creamy soups but want to be a bit healthier, try this place out! They've also got some great vegan options as well.
