In each wrapped katsu there is a ridiculous amount of breadcrumbs
Look at how much breadcrumbs there are!
The Prime Meat Market entrance.
Welcome to Prime Meat Market.
Best marinated Korean bbq meats - not overly sweet like cheaper places so you can actually taste the quality of the meat!
Our family likes gogi. The brisket on the grills are from here.
Slow cook on charcoal
Perfectly sliced to make bulgogi

I've tried their meats several times, but today was the first time entering the store. It is tiny and there was less on display than I anticipated. They have green radish slices and rice cake slices (used for BBQ) for sale, as well as various cuts of meat (와규, 돈가스, 떡갈비, 갈비살 등등) and ice bags. All of their meats are labeled in Korean though, so you would have to ask the employee or use a translator. As expected, they gave green onion salad with sauce with a purchase. It is definitely a $$$ when it comes to pricing, so I normally don't visit butcher shops for this reason.

FYI-they are under new management/ownerSafe to say they are very friendly and inviting! The quality of the meat cannot be compared with your grocery store meat department like Hmart or Zion. The quality/taste is superb and once you had a taste of the meat, it's pretty much hard to go back to grocery store meat department. Our favorite is marinated beef (galbi-joomooluk) and it comes with green onion salad, hot sauce and soy bean paste! They have variety of kbbq along with waygu steaks!! Omg sooooo good! If you happened to pass by Beach and Rosecrans in Buena Park...be sure to stop by and pick up some quality meat! It will take your kbbq night at home...up a notch!!

I firmly believe in buy local and buy from small business owners. Big biz is cheaper and efficient but you don't feed the local economy. Enough of that. Wanted to break in the new smoker so wanted some Dino Ribs ( Plate short ribs). I saw a picture of some on a grill attached to Prime Meat Market, so wifey and I decides to stop by. Here's the deal. Think of this a local store in South Korea. There will be a slight language issue if you don't speak Korean. I showed him the picture, he said no and I was about to leave. But damn if all the meats didn't look good. So I started pulling packages- seasoned short ribs, then pork belly. At that moment as best he could he asked if I was BBQ? Yes I said. He made a gesture that indicated that I needed thicker cuts for the pork belly. I nodded and said yes. He went in back and told somebody to prep a package of thicker cut. He then pointed to a picture of ribs and asked you want? Yes. Off he goes and came out with a package of two plate short ribs. Damn near a side of cow. He asked if I wanted one or two, I said one and off he goes to get one packaged up. The store is clean and caters to its clientele. I felt so damn good after I left this shop, because this is what being a good human is about. We may not speak the same tongue, but we sure as hell love meat and fire. Support this business, give them every shot to make a living and your tummy will thank you for it.

Boy 2013 must have been a bad year for me. HahaCustomer service has improved....or maybe im just used to him now. Haha.Just take the meat and run. Dont forget the free sides!!Either way, their organic prime brisket is still sogood. Actually Im sure its gotten better. I have some ooold photos and they dont look as nicely marbled as the last couple of years. Before the fat was more chunky which isnt bad but my mom has a hard time eating them. Also they are the only ones that survived the past few years around here...So its my go-to place now.Honestly price has been ok esp compared to the nearby markets as well. Also theyre open on holidays so its super convenient.

Very disappointed at the owners of this small Korean-owned business. One word: #SCAMYou would expect two servings of $46 PRIME-GRADE LABELED CHADOL (thinly-sliced fatty brisket) to be fresh, marbled, and with just the right amount of fat. As a business that has been serving the community with quality meat and service for quite some time now, they must have enough integrity to not fool their customers, right?Well. Unfortunately, this business is no longer what it USED to be.Our $46 purchase today only had prime-grade chadol on the TOP LAYER. About twelve pieces tasted amazing while EVERYTHING else was so dry... we had to pour a bunch of oil on what was supposed to be FATTY brisket. The photo attached explains why. That is exactly what the rest (aka the large majority) of our bag of meat looked like. Have you or have you not seen better chadol at AYCE KBBQ restaurants for $10-$15 per person? It's very upsetting that Prime Meat Market has succumbed to tricks such as this ON TOP of raising prices exponentially. I highly doubt that our family will be seeking business here again. I sincerely hope that the owners will reflect on this review and soon change their ways. This business will not survive otherwise. Please do not deceive us: the members of the community who have been loyal to your family business from the very beginning, folks who (despite this cold review) still want to give it a chance, and last but not least - old customers who, in a very long time, decide to give it another try because they recalled memories of being a happy kid who loved to follow her grandpa to PMM to pick up some of the best chadol in town.

I frequent the prime meat market in Irvine and service has always been excellent. My parents live closer to this location and I figured service would be the same. I was completely wrong. They give you free sides for bbq meat purchases and the location in Irvine gives us one serving of everything per $30 or 40. This location tried giving me 2 servings worth of vegetables for $160+ worth of meat and when I asked for more green onions the lady goes "this week it's very expensive." I won't be returning to this location. I should add, the lady kept trying to sell me meat that was starting to oxidize at full price.

Let me tell you what happened to me. The FIRST time we came here we received good quality meat (asado). We liked it and went back. The second time we ordered a GANGGGG of asado meat plus yukhoe (raw meat thats eaten like sushi) for a birthday party. To my surprise the yukhoe was old(brown) which is terrible because you gotta eat it raw and the asado meat was all fat. They put some good quality pieces on top and all the crappy pieces under it (hiding it). Seriously? Was too lazy to complain and just tossed it.Fast forward a few months. My family wanted to give them another try. We went there and explained what happened last time and told them that they pretty much they better not do that shady move again. No shade please. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame in me. They did it again. Let's just say my family was livid. This place is just full of scammers. Don't trust them. If you are going to buy something, make sure you double check, cuz that meat's gonna be bad quality (at least underneath the top layer). I don't have a business or anything, but that's not how you run a business.

This place is a total ripoff. Never come here!!! ... We paid for tonkatsu that was 12.99 per pound. There was a lot in the package we were looking at (around 2.5 or so pounds) and we expressed some concern that there was so much and we would not be able to cook it all at once. The person at the counter told us not to worry because each katsu was individually wrapped. The reason each one is individually wrapped is so that they can rip you off some more!!! Each individually wrapped katsu has a ton of breadcrumbs in it so you're paying 12.99 for some breadcrumbs. The only reason each package is individually wrapped is so that they can stuff more breadcrumbs that are ridiculously inflated in price and take your money. The fact that they are willfully tricking their customers shows that they are a morally deplorable business. They deserve to lose all their customers and get shut down.
