Found myself in the area and have had Portugal Imports for quite some time. I looked around their shop and ended up purchasing two tins of fish which I am looking foward to having! I also ordered the two pastel de nata which was worth every bite! i had my second one hours later and the crust was still super flaky! The staff was really friendly and I hope to make my way back for another visit!

Old customer from the Artesia location. I couldn't wait to visit the new location. I was there before it opened. Then......Disappointment. Not a lot of pastries on display. I order a dozen of the old reliable (pastel de nata). "OLD" being the word. I must have gotten the previous days stale batch. To top it off. The lady owner was not the warmest person (rude? not quite, but definitely not friendly). The husband is better dealing with the customer in my opinion. I rearranged my schedule just to get here since I was in the area. It's probably my last time. Too bad, I really used to love their pastries.

Came here for the pastel de nata, which I am a huge fan of. The staff was friendly and accomodating which is always appreciated. I got a half dozen box which I would recommend if you like this pastry since one is never enough. The filling was perfectly sweet and custardy. Unfortunately the crust was soggy and did not have the crisp I have to expect. It was decent overall but could use some improvement.

Well, we originally came in to buy 2 egg tarts. We just wanted a light snack since I was expecting to eat a lot during this specific weekend...but I can't say no to value. Their pasteis de nata was $5 each, or half a dozen for $15. Welp if we're already paying $10 for 2 then why not add 4 more to make it $15 total? Anyways, I thought it was a great choice. We did have to give 3 egg tarts out because we couldn't finish it, but it still made me happy. The cashier even gave us a Queijada De Nata to try! I didn't know what Queijada De Nata was before since I've only came across pasteis de nata (even when I was in Portugal...but maybe that's because I was only in Lisbon for a short layover), so it was very nice of them to offer us one on the house! It was surprise - they didn't even try upselling it to us. We loved our pastel de nata. It was perfect. Their version doesn't have the powdered sugar/cinnamon though. As for the queijada de nata, it was also very good. I personally like the pastel de nata more though because the queijada de nata was slightly too sweet/rich/creamy (as they are supposed to be) for me.

It's a small shop and they have a display of desserts available. They had music playing in the background and it seemed very cozy and intimate. This friendly guy, who I assume is the owner, came out from behind the wall and helped me out. I decided to get half a dozen of the Portuguese egg tarts (Pastel De Nata) and 1 almond pastry. He threw in an original egg tart (Queijada De Nata) for free which was very sweet. Food Consensus: Visually, the egg tarts are beautiful! The Portuguese egg tart had a great crispy and flaky crust and the egg filling was light and delicious. The original egg tart had a softer, more dense crust with the egg filling and what I think is caramel. Personally, I thought both were v delicious but my favorite one was the original egg tart. I think that I like the original more because I am a big fan of caramel. My dad gave the Portuguese egg tart a 9 out of 10 and said he would buy them again. Both of these egg tarts are great options and I think they would be a great pastry to bring to a party or gathering. Definitely check them out if you're in the fountain Valley area. One thing that I did notice was that there's no sign of prices or dessert options. I later came to Yelp and saw that the owner said they're working on it. If they get that sign, it would be helpful to first timers like myself.

I'm so happy to see a portuguese bakery open in Fountain Valley! I loved the pastel de nata which are portuguese egg tarts. We came around 3pm and were lucky to get a fresh warm batch! I got a half a dozen for my family but wish I bought more. We enjoyed taking it home and sprinkling it with cinnamon. They were sold out of the ham and cheese pastries but my siblings enjoyed the almond pastry and the bacalhau pastry which is savory and made from codfish. The shop is small with very sweet owners. They let me know that they recently relocated from Artesia and are enjoying the new Fountain Valley location. They also give you one free pastry if you pay with cash and purchase over 25 or more which is a great deal!

A Portuguese bakery in Fountain Valley! From what I can tell, they recently relocated from Artesia to Fountain Valley in 2023. It is located in a strip shopping plaza with plenty of parking. I came on a Friday afternoon and there was no line.It looked like they may still be in transition because besides a small display case, there was no menu, prices, or descriptions of items. This being my first time, it wasn't entirely helpful, so you may have to ask if you don't know what you are looking for. It would be nice to be able to clearly see all of their offerings and prices. The inside was a little bare so seats/tables would also be nice.I opted for their signature egg tart (according to their website called their Queijada de Nata). One egg tart is $5, half dozen for $15, and dozen for $25. One egg tart for $5 is a little steep, so you are way better off ordering more and sharing. The egg tart aesthetically looked amazing. Flavor-wise, it was definitely solid. Rich, creamy, and light. I would put it on par with the egg tarts at Paderia, which I think are $3.25 each.Overall would love to come back and try their other products when they have them available. Worth a try if you want something different than Paderia.

Delicious. Finding gems like Portugal Imports make exploration worth it. In Artesia, CA with the wife for a Blink-182 concert later today and I came upon this spot. Obviously popular - we showed up at 10 am and a majority of the pastries had been already picked cleaned for the day. Thankfully, they were baking fresh Natas (creme brulee tarts) so we were able to get those fresh out the oven. The shop itself is vety simple. Obviously designed to get your pastries and go. Pastries were all $2.5 for one or $25 for a dozen. We got a half-dozen (2 Natas, 2 Pastels - egg custard, 1 coconut and 1 almond). Highlight was definitely the Nata. This is the kind of bakery that makes you regret not getting more while you had the chance. The creme brulee was sweet and buttery and the crust was slightly flaky but clearly layered to keep its shape even after you bite into it which I really enjoyed.I personally thought the Pastels were just solid. The crust was flakier than the Nata so a bit messier but anyone who is a texture fan likely would love that. And to be fair, the Pastels also weren't fresh out of the oven like the Natas so I'm convinced that if I managed to get them fresh, they'd have a comporable experience.
