I really love the pastries and confectionery creations at Picket Lane Bakery! Les Delicies d'Aveline is so mouthwatering delicious!!! It's a perfect melange of mango and apple!!! It was a perfect companion to their buttery croissants!!! It was so good!! I had to hold myself back from eating everything in one sitting!

I stopped by their booth today at the Irvine farmers market and got their last almond raspberry croissant... after devouring it, I feel like my life is forever changed for the better. I've never had such an amazing breakfast pastry in my entire life. I will 100% go back to try more things!

Best bakery in the area. Their pumpkin pie is the BEST I've ever had and frankly all their baked goods are delicious. It's what you'd expect from a French trained pastry chef.

How did these guys manage to make even scones edible!?!?I've never been a fan of scones until I met Picket Lane...magical!I have eaten my fair share of bread and bread based products over the years (this is in place of the usual qualifier..."I'm from xxxxxx, so I know what good xxxxx tastes like").And so I consider myself qualified to judge bread and all of the tasty breadlike things coming out of this corner of heaven.Butter croissants, soft and buttery sweet scones, rolls (cinnamon and otherwise), baguettes of all varieties, danish and flat breads.A wonderful variety and top quality products.I just had my lunch today...egg salad and tapanade on slices of an olive loaf that I got at the farmers market from these guys a few days ago (for now, it's either go see them at the FM's or get delivery through a third party)...it was about as good as a sandwich gets (and I do give myself "props" for the egg salad and the tapanade...I'm quite the little cook!).But I'm not baker.Praise sweet baby Jebus that these folks are bakers...and that I can get my high quality bread fix reasonably frequently and reasonably close to home.Oh, by the way, their prices are extremely reasonable, and they are the nicest people you could hope to meet.Go see them at one of the FM's they frequent (Irvine, Newport Beach, Laguna Hills, etc.) and pick up your own version of the staff of life.

Whole wheat croissants for the family! But wait, I was so disappointed because the proprietress told me it was delicious even to kids. Well, our 4-pack of croissants is still sitting in the kitchen. It's DRY. Some things are not meant to be so healthy.Want a whole wheat croissant? Try Seaside Bakery in Newport Beach.

I always make a point to visit Picket Lane Bakery at the Irvine farmers market. I can speak for their traditional breads (hamburger buns, French loaf, etc) and they always remain soft & pillowy after a few days. Whether or not they last a few days however is another problem. See, I buy them on Saturday, immediately eat some them as lunch& dinner, spread some honey & homemade chutney for breakfast, etc...they can be gone by Tuesday!I don't know what the reviews mean by an aloof shopkeeper. She is always the sweetest and most gentle person, though a bit quiet. Honestly, if the bread is as nice as theirs, I don't mind if the shopkeeper is mean as a beast! However that is NOT the case.

I go to the booth at Newport Hills and Lake Forest. Very good quality at a reasonable price. Not cheap but the pastries are top quality. You'd pay a lot more elsewhere for he same level of goods. I like the raspberry cookies, apple turnovers and pear tart. Tried the baguette last week and it was excellent bread. It was a little different than traditional French baguette. Very nice product. Some of the items are quite gourmet with subtle differences from normal bakery goods. It's the little differences that keep me coming back. If you're trying to diet don't go near that place.
