The crispy taco plate is pretty solid. It's in the new concept joint kitchen so it might be hard to find at first. The food takes a bit so make sure to order ahead. FYI: We came here because old reviews mentioned Albondigas but this is no longer on the menu.

My first review was back in July 2023, so I figured I'd offer an update. Especially since Yelp is showing a review saying they have closed down? They are not closed! I've been eating here at least 3 times a month, if not more, for the past year. It's always consistent, always delicious, and always very quick. I place my order for dinner, I drive 10 minutes down the street, and usually by the time I get there, my food is ready for pick up. The gentlemen who hand me my order are always super nice and friendly, it's always the same guys and it's clear this is a local and family owned business.*As I said in my original review, this is classic Mexican restaurant food, the kind that white people go bonkers for. It's probably the best I've had and I'm glad I've found something like this for pickup in Irvine, because sometimes you're just in the mood for what feels like classic Southern Californian comfort food, and Picante Martin's hits the spot.For some technical details, this is a "ghost kitchen". It is not a restaurant! If you go to the location, you'll find a cubby-hole with some touch-screen kiosks you can order from. It's much more efficient for you to go to the Picante Martin's website and order directly from them for pick up, and then drive over and wait for the text message that your order is ready. Don't order from some random delivery app, go to their website!* The fact that they're family owned means that if they're short someone, they end up shutting down for the day, which means sometimes when you're craving Picante Martin's, they're not open, but they don't close down very often... something to keep in mind though, if you try to order and they're closed for the day. Check back in a day or two.

What in the ghost kitchen is going on?Found this place on Yelp and it's also listed in Google maps. Located in an industrial park adjacent to storage units. Look for signage for Smart Kitchens which serves 14 restaurants. Seems like a pickup point for different restaurants to drop off food. Only a kiosk for ordering. No staff on hand at front.

I always get lunch here. I get the Milanesa torta with everything on it. It's so good! I normally don't like Jalapeños or onion too much, but it's perfect the way it is. The jalapeños I think are pickled so it's not a hot, just the perfect amount of spice. The service is fast and great. You can order from your phone which is always preferred for me since I'm busy.

Ordered through the yelp app and the approximate pick up time was 45 minutes. They finished my order in 15 minutes which was good. We ordered the albondigas soup. It was super salty and didn't have the veggie assortment that I was looking for. The meatball was really mushy and fell apart upon scooping it. The price point is also pretty high. We ordered a side of guacamole and for a small condiment sized container, we paid $6. We understand that times are tough, but that was near highway robbery!
