Pho Thanh Binh

The food is AMAZING, I've never had any sort of complaints with the flavors or quality. Ontop of the food being amazing, their service is top tier. Anytime we dine in, they're always right on top of it and when I place an order for pickup, I've never waited forever and it's always cooked fresh and hot. The restaurant gives family owned feelings and vibes, I genuinely love that. It's nice to have a pho place out here that feels like a home away from home.

One of the worst Vietnamese restaurants I've ever been to. I was in the area for my son's baseball tournament and was looking for some hot Pho since it was cold outside. I saw the restaurant on Yelp. It had over 4 stars and thought it would be safe to try. The first thing that should have tipped me off that this place was no good was when we came to the restaurant around 1:45pm on Saturday and saw that there was no one else in the restaurant. I ordered the Pho and my son order the spicy pork chops. I know what good Pho tastes like and this was just OK, but it came out fast. The Spicy Pork Chops came out much later and it had a bad taste like it was old and the sauce was thick and had a lot of corn starch. I mentioned that it did not taste right and they said sorry you ordered it and have to pay for it. WTF! I even said you can try it to see what we were talking about and said I can't eat off your plate - which I understand but they didn't even offer to make it right. After that, I asked for the check and left the restaurant without finishing the Pho. I was so furious! Stay away from this restaurant. Not sure why they have so many high ratings.

There is little to no Vietnamese food in South County, so happy to have Pho Thanh Binh! I've been a regular for a few years and it's a very nice family run business. The food comes out super quick and fresh which is nice because I typically come by on my lunch break. The only improvement I would like to see is an interior refresh. Some of the booths have holes in the seats and I think a deep clean of the dining room is in order.

Plenty of parking.First time visitor.Nothing fancy.Great tasting food. Will definitely go back. Many items to pick from.Staff was very friendly.

I was anxious to try the Oxtail Pho plate at this wonderful Pho 1 week. Nice dine in setting near the beach. Me and my crew stopped in for lunch ,and indulged in some eggrolls, and some slight noodles as appetizers. Food is good, i love the Oxtail Pho with rice and all. Really moist, and not dried out. Lots of flavors, and spice. I will come back again.

Yummy and delicious! I Love pho! The soup is so good!! And the chicken wings are amazing.

Pros: Food came out quickly. Vietnamese fried egg rolls were good. Pho was okay. I personally didn't really like it. Cons:They ran out of beef short ribs pho and boba.Salt and pepper pork chops were sweet and super oily. Not good. Garlic fried chicken wings didn't have any flavor and didn't take like garlic at all. Waste of money and calories. The lime sauce that came with it tasted like it came from the bottled lime juice. Again, not good. Waitress was fine. Waiter couldn't stand still long enough to speak to him about our order. He said askthe owner if you have issues with the food. It's his recipe. After food was on our table, , there was no more service. We've dined here before and it was okay. This time I felt it was a waste of money. Maybe we should have ordered different food. When you combine that with poor service, it makes me unhappy. We will not be returning here again.

I stopped by with my friends who live in the area before heading home for the weekend. This is their go to for their Pho fix and I can see why.The atmosphere reminds me of my favorite family owned Vietnamese restaurant back home. Booth seating, more function than form, but always clean with a casual vibe. Our server was super friendly and was cracking jokes while checking on us through our meal.We had some crispy egg rolls which were fried perfectly and yum. I ordered a large bowl of their House Pho where you get to pick your 3 meats. The broth was savory and they were generous with the meats. This definitely was a Pho that eats like a meal.If you're in the San Clemente area, and you're looking for a casual Pho joint Pho Thanh Binh has you covered. Enjoy!

This is the 2nd location I visited and is just as delicious as the one at Lake Forest. Ordered their oxtail Pho, which was flavorful. Though, their curry rice was a tad sweet; still flavorful. Their spring rolls were typical. Overall, service was decent and place was spacious compared to their smaller location at Lake Forest. Would definitely return should I be in the area for Vietnamese food.

We decided to pull over to eat to wait out traffic. It's conveniently located off the highway with great reviews.This place is very affordable for a place that's near the beach. It did not sacrifice taste even though it's far from the Vietnamese community.They offer 3 sizes for pho ranging from $11-$15. We got a small bowl of chicken pho ($11.50), small house combo pho ($12), side of oxtail ($8), and fried spicy chicken wings located under "side" ($15). It came with rice!The pho was decent, the oxtail was on the smaller end and not as tender but it had so much meat! It was like eating ribs. I found it odd the spicy fried chicken wings was not under appetizer but under sides. Different than the garlic wings listed under appetizer. It also came with rice! The wings were jumbo. Such a great deal. It was a wet marination and not spicy. We would definitely stop here again in the feature if we need to wait out traffic. Plenty of parking, outdoor seating possible and they have a private room for large parties.
