TLDR:Pho Song Hai is a reliable spot for Vietnamese chicken dishes, with standout ginger sauce and perfectly cooked rice. The chicken leg (dark meat) is the most popular but pricey and sparse on meat, while the breast (white meat) is a better value. They also serve pho, Hainanese chicken with rice, and mien (glass noodles). Service is straightforward, and the restaurant is best for small groups (4 or fewer). Not the best in town, but consistent and satisfying.Food Choices & Prices:-Chicken Breast (White Meat): 3/5 - $13.99 - A bit dry (as chicken breast often is), but a good value for the amount of meat.-Chicken Leg (Dark Meat): 4/5 - $16.49 - The most flavorful option, though sparse on meat. Often sells out by late morning.-Rice: 5/5 - Cooked in chicken broth and complements the dish perfectly.-Ginger Sauce: 5/5 - Savory and customizable with fresh red chilies. The highlight of the meal.Beware:-Meat Portions (Leg): While flavorful, the leg is sparse on meat compared to the breast.-Popularity: The chicken leg often sells out by late morning, so plan accordingly.Would I Return?Yes. It's a reliable spot for Vietnamese chicken dishes, and the ginger sauce alone makes it worth revisiting.

This establishment consistently experiences high customer traffic, making it an ideal destination for those seeking comforting and restorative cuisine when unwell. It is particularly renowned for its chicken pho. While service is generally friendly and efficient, the restaurant occasionally closes early due to high demand and fresh ingredient limitations. Therefore, it is advisable to disregard posted hours, as they frequently close upon selling out their daily chicken supply. The restaurant maintains a clean and efficient operation, and I highly recommend it for its chicken pho.

I don't understand how this place is all hyped and deserves the long wait times, settling for whatever chicken pieces are left, and mediocre, I don't care for the customers attitude.I only came here because it was after a memorial mass nearby and our party of 8 came right before they opened at 9am. The service is typical nonchalance and you have to flag down your server if you are missing anything, like my drink after all the bowls were brought out.The actual setup with the ginger fish sauce is typical and the separation of chicken pieces from the actual noodles and broth is more unique because usually, they're combined. The actual flavor was nothing special IMO and waaaayyy too many noodles for the ratio of broth. I couldn't even finish half of it. The herbs were fresh and the fish sauce was flavorful.I cannot see myself waiting here for a table during prime time hours. Plenty of other dining spots.

If you do go, go early because they are popular! The restaurant is small but has plenty of tables. Although they fill very fast! The servers mostly speak no English to very broken English. This restaurant specializes in chicken. Chicken and rice, chicken and noodles... chicken. Their cuts are chicken breast, leg or wings. Note that only one person at your table can order wings. The day we went there was a half hour wait for legs. So essentially one person could order wings and the others pretty much had to order breast pieces. The broth is very yummy. The chicken is flavorless so you need sauce. Their Hainan chicken sauce is pretty yummy. I did add chili.

Yes - when you can actually get a bowl of the pho in front of you, it's GOOD. The chicken is the free range, walking kind that tastes so so good. But the journey to getting some food in front of you is a bit challenging. If you try to order take out, you may need to call 4-5 times to get them to pick up the phone. If you manage to get a table after waiting an 45 minutes to an hour, you might have to share it with a family of strangers. The restaurant is a bit tight and always busy and full. If you manage to sit down and order, they'll tell you that all the have left is "wing" but then serve the people next to you the thigh that you've wanted. Also don't forget to bring cash. This is one of those places that sells out everyday, it feels like they dont care about the customer experience. They really do place their efforts in getting probably one of the best chicken phos in town. The only time i've had a decent experience here is going really early at opening. What's funny is that the service and experience has been consistent since they've opened!

Every single time that I'm here this place always running out of chicken. Especially between 11am to noontime. How in world you running a business and can't calculate how much chickens need it for the day. Service just as bad as the woman behind the cash register.

This place is so inconsistent with their chicken, the quality has gone down. For 2 orders of mien ga it was $36 and not worth for what was given. My parents had to throw away the chicken they had asked for. Basically $36 down the trash and not getting full off of. This place also only takes cash which is rlly annoying and I would not recommend coming here. My dad also got food poisoning once from this place as well so be careful!
