Pete's Mexican Food

Awesome food! Got a beef enchilada & a Squirt soda. Complimentary house salsa and chips were delicious. Good prices and quaint restaurant.

Visited first time, for breakfast. IMO it was so yummy and seasoned perfectly. Had the 2 eggs, potatoes and beans. Hubby had the eggs, pork chili verde and beans. The beans were refried and reminded us of mom's home cooking style. Small place but also had outside tables, chairs and umbrellas. Was very cold and foggy so we sat inside. On 5th street, somewhat across the street from the HBPD on 5th and Walnut. Will visit again.

Aye here after reading their sign that they had the most authentic Mexican food. Ordered the shredded beef taquitos and they were great with lots of meat inside. Would prefer a bit more crispy. The salsa was very authentic and just the right spice. Will come back to try other menu items.

Best mexican food ive had in the area by far! Small little hole in the wall with great vibes. You order and then sit down at a table and they will bring your food over when it's ready. The cashier was super helpful and checked in on us after we had our food. We ordered an enchilada and taco plate and an enchilada and chile relleno plate. Both were amazing. Their ground beef was perfectly seasoned and delicious. 10/10

Pete's wins in the area of atmosphere. You really feel like you are in Mexico there. Pete and family are very niceand friendly. The menu has all the classics, and you canmake changes if you wish. This place reminds me of Rose's Cafe on Hailey Streetin Santa Barbara. The main difference with Roses is thatRoses is known for their excellent food. Pete's food is bland, and lacks flare, and it lacks flavor. It's just bland.We ordered a Chile relleno burrito and a chorizo burrito. It was mediocre. It lacked fresh veggies, spices, and taste. Pete's refried beans are bland, and they lack the bacon fat or lard taste you get in Mexico. My chorizo burrito was three eggs and chorizo, wrapped up and served. Simple and boring.Not bad but not great, a perfect three stars.

Our family has been visiting this lovely little Mexican for about 30 years . A lot has changed in downtown HB. But Pete's remains perfect. Best Mexican breakfast I know . Locals know this place well.

Great place to grab someMex and sit outside and people watch. Very friendly place! Try to go there as much as possible.

I ordered the Supreme Burrito, it was generously sized and smothered in a delicious sauce. The combination of rice, beans, lettuce, and my choice of protein was a flavor explosion. To top it off, they included a serving of large tortilla chips, which were perfect for dipping. The prices were quite reasonable, making it an excellent value for the quality and quantity of food we received. The friendly service was the cherry on top of our dining experience. I can't wait to return for another beachside meal!

Don't understand why people love it. It was just okay. The guacamole was horrible. There was no avocado in it though it had an avocado price. We were very disappointed.

Solid 3! Don't have anything bad to say about this place, it's a cute small Mexican food spot in downtown HB. Service was good and nice employees. Food was good, not bad, not anything more than average Mexican food! But enjoyed our experience and would come back. A little pricey for service size as well and can be hard to get a seat !
