What an incredible experience! This place is an amazing find and truly a wonderful addition to the culinary landscape of Laguna Beach. It's tucked in right off the corner of Broadway and PCH in a way that gives off a special secluded type of vibe. The service is fantastic. Blending an attentive approach without being smothering or overbearing. The genuine concern and interest exhibited by the staff is noticeable right away. They take pride in their establishment and it shows! The food is sensational as well with flavor profiles that dazzle the palate in a mesmerizing way. Whether you live nearby or not, this restaurant is a must try.

I want to like this place but they are trying too hard to be "good". Their orange chicken had no orange sauce on it. There was like a teaspoon of it in the bottom of the plate could barely get any of that flavor over any of the chicken which was not breaded or crispy but just cubed chicken heavily sautéed and dry. The honey walnut shrimp was the same, lacking any sauce they only gave me a thimble full of sauce. I distributed across all shrimp I was only able to get a drop of sauce on each. Meanwhile the flavor of the burned oil was heavily taking over the shrimps(and the chickens) flavor. It was not good. I spent a lot of money.The sauces had good flavor but they need to put some please. These dishes the sauce is what makes them shine. In other restaurants I have seen orange chicken that were lightly breaded and pan fried or just not even breaded with a deliciously dark red orange sauce with orange peels and chillies and and it can be a success if the sauce is good. I don't know why I can't find anyone else who can make a good sauce does so cal people not care about good cuisine? Needs sauce!

Hellll yeah.This place is great. Everyone that works there is so nice.Consistent quality, large portions, I feel good after I eat it. Best Chinese food in town.

We had a lovely meal here. Very reasonably priced for the area. The bok choy and mushrooms were so nice, lovely sauce. The mapo tofu had a nice spice to it too. Nice staff also!

Peony Chinese Kitchen is located across the street from Main Beach. There is a large outdoor dining patio area shared by several restaurants located within the food court. Dogs are welcome on the patio. They have a really reasonable lunch menu and dogs are allowed, so my friend and I regularly dine here for lunch. The lunch service is always very professional and quick. I ordered the Garlic Prawns with broccoli and I chose the purple rice. The food is really tasty. The portions are large and I regularly have to request a to-go box for left overs. I will definitely continue to dine here.

The service was phenomenal with an excellent greeting, attentive care, and continuous refills on our waters. The ambiance was great with a cool breeze and quiet atmosphere. The 4-star is because the food was fairly bland. We ordered the Orange Chicken and Mongolian Beef lunch special with egg fried rice. The fried rice was especially bland missing the savory tones I expected. The orange chicken was missing some of the citrus/zesty flavor I like. The Mongolian beef was our favorite dish with nothing to complain about. Over all, a solid 4 I would recommend if you are in the mood for Chinese food in Laguna beach.

Peony Chinese Kitchen offered a great lunch experience today! I tried their cashew chicken lunch special, and while there's a minor caveat, the overall experience was positive.The cashew chicken was a solid choice. The vegetables were fresh and perfectly crisp, adding a delightful textural contrast to the tender chicken. The dish itself was well-presented, and the portion size was perfect for lunch.While everything was cooked well, the cashew chicken leaned a touch on the bland side for my taste. This was easily remedied with a bit of chili sauce on the table, and it allowed me to customize the spice level to my preference.The service at Peony Chinese Kitchen was fantastic. The staff was friendly, attentive, and made sure my dining experience was enjoyable.Overall, Peony Chinese Kitchen offers a delicious and convenient lunch option. The fresh ingredients, friendly service, and reasonable prices make it a great place for a quick and satisfying meal. While the cashew chicken needed a slight flavor adjustment for my taste, the ability to customize the spice level made it a non-issue. One of the few remaining Cantonese restaurants in South County. It has good food and good service . The kitchen staff was quite loud reminding me of the old days, There's no parking however , a big minus but not unusual for Laguna,

I was so impressed by their chicken. Most places have mostly batter, but this place uses quality white meat chicken. It wasn't too sweet or too tangy. I liked that the chow mein wasn't soggy and a balance of meat and veggies. The service was outstanding. The waiter was very attentive. He filled our waters promptly and refilled our tea as well.The ambiance is nice and cozy. It is located in a corner so it was very quiet. Nice place for a date.

Peony was so good and the service was amazing! We tried it for the first time tonight and loved everything we got. The flavor of everything was excellent and nothing was bland. Veggie Egg rolls were super crispy and not at all greasy. The fried rice has a really nice flavor as well. Love that they have a bar and that it wasn't super bright inside. So many Chinese restaurants have fluorescent lighting, but Peony had an amazing lighting vibe that was so comfortable and inviting. Will be back.
