I've been craving black bean noodles and tangsuyuk and knew I had to get it from Paik's after watching him on Culinary Class Wars.My friends and I got the black bean noodles with the minced pork. The pork was such a good addition! It was super juicy and added a great flavor to the dish! The tangsuyuk was equally as delicious! I'm glad they don't skimp out on the food. Both dishes were around $30 total!

Who else is here after binging the Netflix instant classic series from Korea -- "Culinary Class Wars" with Judge Paik? These jjajangmyeon options are out of this world, while nailing the balance between savory and sweet. Get ready for heavy, al dente noodles that are cooked to perfection.Hours are limited so this spot is perfect for an early dinner once you're done with your shift. Expect to fork over more than $10 for a plate for a person; worth every penny.Quiet shop with effective host and chefs.

I've eaten here too many times to count. It's one of the staple to-go and eat-in places for my family, with a toddler in tow. If you're looking for fast service, food consistency and value, this place is it.Food (4/5): Their jjajangmyeon (black bean sauce noodle) is hands down one of my favorites compared to any other restaurant that serves it. It's sweet, savory, meaty, and the noodles have that nice bounce to it. A somewhat recent addition, their meat jjamppong (spicy seafood noodle) is just perfect. The bit of roasted flavor from the extra meat imparts a delicious umami and fragrant flavor that just adds so much to the dish (whereas their regular jjamppong feels like it's missing something). I would highly recommend both the jjangmyeon and jjamppong. If you can handle spicy, add a bit of their chili powder and white vinegar to the former and consider throwing a bit of the jjamppong soup over it (like a few spoonfuls). It's so good together!Service (4/5): The restaurant is self service but they keep the place quite clean and food comes out in about 15 mins. We love to call ahead and they're really awesome about packaging up everything to go. Just keep in mind that you have to pay like $1 extra if you need a takeout box after you eat :(Overall, we would recommend this place. Our picky toddler loves it too (most of the time).

Food is filling. Light on protein but noodles are yummy. Wish you could order extra noodles. Agree that jiajiang mein is yummy.

OVERALL : I've eaten at the Paik's in Santa Clara before and it was AHHHMAZING so I was excited to see that there's also some SoCal locations that I could go to that are closer to home. Like many others, I have just binged Culinary Class Wars on Netflix and needed to visit one of Chef Paik's restaurants asap! The Buena Park location is a casual spot where you order at the counter and pick up your food when they buzz you, then take it to your table to eat. I got the same 3 items that I get at the Norcal location -- Jajangmyun, Tangsuyuk, and Jamppong. Prices are not bad at all for these huge portions, and they did not skimp on the meat or veggies! I shared with my bf and we had some leftovers for home. Everything was so flavorful and hearty. Already craving it again! PARKING : Shares a parking lot with a lot of other businesses including an Hmart. Parking can be tight especially during peak lunch/dinner hours, so be prepared to make a few circles for parking or park further and walk if you're coming during a busy time. FOOD/DRINKS :Jajangmyun - noodles with a savory black bean sauce, pork, and veggies. Perfect noodles that did not stick/clump to each other, thick and smoky black bean sauceTangsuyuk - fried pork with a special sweet and sour sauce. This place makes a unique chewy crispy exterior unlike any other place I've had! It's so addicting especially with the thick sweet and sour sauce. Jamppong - spicy noodle soup with pork, squid, mussels, and vegetables. I loved this so much! Super flavorful and savory seafood stew with lots of noodles, veggies, and meat. Perfect spice where you know it's there but not overwhelming

Paik's Noodle is one of the most globally popular Korean restaurant chains, known for its signature Korean-Chinese (Sino-Korean cuisine) dishes. They, of course, are Jjangmyeon (black bean noodles), Jjamppong (spicy seafood noodle soup), and Tangsuyuk (sweet and sour pork). Paik's Noodle owes its popularity to the speed and consistency of its food preparation and straightforward creation of the delightful, familiar flavors of the dishes.Paik's Noodle also offers a good variation of its signature dishes and the prices are reasonable. The Jjangmyeon starts at $10.35, most dishes are under $15. You can swap out the noodles with egg-fried rice.If the combined heat and flavors of the Jjamppong dish - which starts at $13.45 - need a real kick, you can order it with more gochujang (traditional fermented hot chili paste). There is also Beef Jjamppong option which is a non-spicy variation without the seafood mix. The Tangsuyuk, $15.45 is their most recommended dish. Their version is prepared with fried pork (sometimes it is made with beef), along with cabbage, sliced carrots, onion, and wood ear mushrooms. The tangy sweet and sour sauce was just right, and not too sweet or heavy. It is best to share this dish while ordering your noodle dish for a more satisfying dining experience.Other dishes on their menu include Creamy or Chili Saeu (fried shrimp), Hong Kong Wings (spicy, soy garlic wings), Gunmandu (pan-fried dumplings), and Bokkeummyeon (stir-fried noodles). The noodles are perfectly cooked whenever I dine at a Paik's Noodle restaurant. They are bouncy, chewy, and always taste fresh. Pickled daikon radish accompanies every dish.I do not have many complaints about the food, but I was disappointed that their portions were not very generous. Their prices are low, but you should be able to get a decent amount of food, compared to its competitors and other restaurants that may specialize in Sino-Korean cuisine. But they get my approval for the variety and consistency of some of my favorite dishes.

This is the second time I've ever had jajangmyeon but there will definitely be a third in the near future because the noodles were incredibly chewy and delicious. The thick black bean sauce held on to every strand and I'm sure I could've demolished this whole bowl myself but we ordered a spread to spare.I also loved the meat jjamppong and they did not skimp out on the toppings. I actually ran out of the noodles before I could get to all the toppings even though it's usually the other way around. The sauce had the perfect amount of spice and I couldn't get enough of it either. I think the spicy shrimp is a new menu item but it seemed more like the chili shrimp because it had a sweet taste rather than a spicy one. I still loved it though and it was fried perfectly since they all had a crunch that was chef's kiss. The only miss for me was the sweet and sour pork, or tangsuyuk, since the sauce was very heavy on the honey flavor. I'm pretty sure it's typically sugar-based but I couldn't eat more than a few bites. It was like you were eating a spoonful of honey especially because the consistency matched too. It's a fast-casual Korean restaurant so you place your order at the front and pick up your food when they call your number. It was pretty quick considering we ordered 4 dishes and there's sharing plates too which is appreciated. I'd definitely recommend trying out this place if you're in the area.

When I crave jjajangmyeon, Paik's Noodle in Buena Park is always my first choice. After visiting many times, I can confidently say they have the BEST jjajangmyeon in town. Highly recommended! This time, I also tried jjampong (spicy noodle soup with pork, squid, mussels, and vegetables). It's perfect for spicy food lovers. For entrees, I loved their sweet & sour pork and chili shrimp. Both were flavorful and crunchy. Overall, they serve generous portions, perfect for sharing, and everything is delicious. Hope you enjoy!

Amazing food and amazing service! I got my order within minutes of ordering and the food was so good! My favorite is the cream shrimp. It's pretty similar to honey walnut shrimp if you like that dish. The noodles from my black bean noodle and spicy seafood dish were perfectly cooked because the noodles were nice and chewy.

Happy we got to finally try this restaurant after watching the owner as a judge on the Korean cooking series on Netflix. The set up of this restaurant is like cafeteria style. Order at the counter and pay. Take a seat at an open table to wait for your pager to be called. When your order is ready, you pick up your food tray. We got the spicy chili black bean noodles and crispy sweet and sour pork. The portions are pretty big. Good enough for two of us to share and take home some pork. The sweet and sour sauce tasted like plum. Not our favorite but it could be because we aren't too familiar with the Korean style of sweet and sour. The noodles were very chewy and the sauce and chilis had a kick. The sauce coated the noodles nicely. After you're done eating, you would take your food tray to the cleaning cart. I would come back to get my black bean noodle cravings satisfied.
