Outpost Kitchen

Cute little Australian inspired cafe in Costa Mesa across from South Coast Plaza. They serve all day breakfast and have a variety of healthy lunch options like bowls, sandwiches, & wraps. Parking can be tough as it's a tiny lot shared with Philz coffee, but there is a nearby parking structure with validated parking. We had a 12p weekday reservation and were seated right away with quick service & food arrival.I ordered the Date Mate salad (no goat cheese) & an iced oat milk vanilla latte. The coffee was solid, nothing crazy special to report, and the salad was a hearty size with a large portion of chicken & dates. Their drink menu looked amazing with fresh fruit juice cocktails so will need to come back!

Overall Outpost is a good place. Quality ingredients, creative food entrees and mildly inviting atmosphere. Service is decent- sometimes they disappear for a little too long whether it's busy or moderately busy. The price for the food is slightly too high. The few times I been each time the food was a little cold. Today my food was the coldest it's been. I had to get up and find my server or just a staff member since it' was a while since anyone walked by. At least they were pleasant to assist and get me a new plate. For the price that is being paid, you assume it's for value. Value that includes efficiency to make sure food that is supposed to be hot (eggs and meat), versus what is typically a little more likely at a large restaurant chain. I consider going back but not towards the top of my list. If you haven't been I feel it's worth to try.

The food was really yummy!! Maybe a little salty but it tasted good. This was for a business lunch and I thought the vibe was perfect. Professional atmosphere but not stuffy. Service was good for a meeting- not too pushy but just enough.

Outpost Kitchen offers American brunch and lunch dishes with coffees, juices and beer. It wasn't too busy when I arrived for an early lunch on a weekday, i asked to be seated outside on the patio. Ordered the steak and eggs, medium rare, with the breakfast potatoes with scrambled eggs. The steak was well seasoned but it came out medium instead. The potatoes were too chewy and some were hard as if they sat out for a while. The eggs were the best with a hint of rosemary flavor. The blueberry pancakes came highly recommended but it needed more sauce for the 3 bottom layers bc the top soaked up all the lemon and raspberry sauce so the bottom pancakes were a bit dry. Our food came out first before our serving plates and utensils but that's just a slight oversight. They offer 2 hour parking validation for the parking structure.

Food was great generous portions and delicious. Service was outstanding and loved the outside patio seating. Yummy drinks too.

Great convenient spot for breakfast or lunch near offices and shopping. Menu items are available all day, including wine and kombucha. Breakfast scrambles and French toast were in point. Service was friendly and attentive. Lots of outdoor seating and free or validated 2 hour parking in nearby structure.

Came by again because I was craving their blueberry pancake. Still think their pancakes is the best and my favorite of all time.

Love the ambiance! The patio seating is a great spot especially when the weather is good.Service is ok. When they got busy, it took longer for food to come out.Salmon protein bowl - the salmon was a bit dry and I wish that there was more sauce for the soba noodlesFrench toast - it was yummy. Bread edges were almost crunchy and the center was soft.Latte - I initially ordered a hot oatmilk latte but the coffee tasted burnt so I asked for them to make it iced instead and the iced version tasted smoother.Good brunch place with a lot of healthy options to choose from.

Cute little restaurant with good vibes and yummy dishes. Our first time there and I had the Hollywood Salad with salmon and my friend had the fried chicken sandwich. Both were very tasty but she said hers was hard to eat, had to deconstruct the sandwich to eat it. Overall good spot and I would go back.
