Convenient location at MainPlace mall food court which has considerably less options compared to past decades. Walked by this place lured by a friendly lady offering a sample piece, which tasted fine. I thought to myself that I'd rather patronize a small business rather than have something expected at Panda Express a few stalls down. So I got the teriyaki chicken with fried rice and chow mein.... Simple enough. But good thing I turned down the cook's inquiry about getting more sauce drizzled on top cus this was just some of the SALTIEST food I've ever had. I mean super salty. Noodles were good on their own but wow the whole dish was like scarfing down a salt lick. I think if I had gotten veggies and white rice instead of just the fried rice it might not have been as salty.

The good:I didn't intend on eating here for dinner but ended up here because the toddler woke up late from a nap and we wanted something quick and casual. This place is located in the 90s-esque style food court and they give out free samples! I like how the food court had children's tables. I got an avocado cucumber roll and a spicy tuna roll. I also tried some of the marinated chicken as a sample. My food was made to order. Each sushi roll was around $8. The bad: There was so much rice in both of my rolls. The rice was mushy and didn't have a nice sushi rice vinegar flavor. The spicy tuna is normally spicy in the tuna part but this has regular tuna with sriracha outside. The chicken sample was cool in temperature and too salty. The interesting:They sell stir fried noodles as well.

This place deserves 5 stars. I don't get why this place doesn't have good reviews. I came here for the first time with my friends the other week and the food was so amazing!! I ordered their chicken teriyaki and the sauce was delicious it was sweet and salty and the chicken was even crispy on the edges. I used to go to this restaurant called Sarku Japan at Santa Monica before they closed. And that was the best Sarku Japan location and I would always order the chicken teriyaki. I have been looking for chicken teriyaki that was similar to that restaurant for the longest time and was so happy I found it at this restaurant Osaka Japan. I highly recommend this place. The plate also comes with rice and veggies. Everything was so flavorful and will be coming here more often! Note: -they are located inside the food court mall-They have plenty of parking spots outside.

When in doubt, don't hesitate to try the smaller businesses with no lines. I headed to the mall to do some shopping for Christmas, all stands were pretty packed, but they did not have a line. I decided to try it out for the first time. I got the beef and shrimp plate along with a side of cheese won tons. I WAS NOT AT ALL DISAPPOINTED!!! The cook it in front of you and you can totally see whats being done. My food came with white rice and noodles, and it was well cooked! The 2 young ladies at the counter were really nice and made sure to help and answer any questions. I shall be back, because they stack it really high and with lots a sauce! The mall is always packed, but we sat next to them, and the smell is always amazing!! Until next time... We shall see you guys again!!

Grand portions and great tasting meats. Only downside are the lack of sauce packets with there only being a bottle of sriracha and chili oil to dispense in the front counter.

Delicious food!! The quantity is big enough for 2 people. Bring a big appetite or take it to go. Portions are very generous. The cashier was friendly. First timer. It's inside the mall in the second floor. The ambience is casual so don't worry about being underdressed. The prices are fair.

I usually visit Santa Ana Mainplace if I happen to be in the area and need to charge my vehicle. They offer 12 superchargers and while you wait, you have the option to walk the mall or grab a bite in their food court. The food court offers a good number of diverse options ranging from Sbarro to Subway to Panda Express, but my go-to is always Osaka Japan. Osaka Japan has a lower rating on Yelp, but I would award them a solid 3.5 stars. I always go with the Chicken Teriyaki because it's the most affordably priced item on their menu and it also tastes delicious. If you try this item, you'll have the option of white rice or fried rice and know that it includes veggies too. The meats are cooked right in front of you and they usually offer hearty portions. I've visited a number of times and the quality control has been consistent. I'll be back again and again so I recommend a try.

I asked for a small box to put my left overs in because me and my partner had broke the original box in half to share. The cashier states " my manager dosent allow us to give to go boxes" noooo way. I will NEVER EAT here again. What a cheap horrible restaurant

I used to love coming here! It used to be cheap, lots of food and great flavor. I don't know what happened and I'm hoping it a one off but today when I order my food it was flavorless, dry, and brunt. You can tell that the chicken had been sitting for hours and they just kept reheating it and tossing it around until someone bought it. The veggies and rice was dry and tasted brunt. One other thing I saw that noticed that I thought was kind of gross was the free samples that they put on their plate and offer out to people, who don't always grab it. They dump out the old cold samples back in the grill and mix it in with the chicken that they are cooking and put fresh meat on the plate. Is that even safe? I thought that once food has cooled off and been on a cool plate it can begin to foster germs, same reason we only reheat leftovers we are going to eat and not the whole thing?
