O'Connell's Sports Pub & Grille

I forgot to take pictures...but this place felt like...i found America in Southern California. It was just what I was looking for on a crappy night. I wanted a place to get simple, good food, with a bar, and screens to watch football. I couldn't have asked for a better spot!! This will be a new go-to for me, it reminded me of a cool place in the north east. Everyone i sat next to at the bar was friendly and down for a random conversation and they had an actual good bartender. The food was surprisingly good for a bar and they have a pretty extensive menu. I got the chicken tacos, a kobe hot dog, and a chicken Philly cheese steak. All were done really well and their French fries were like...McDonald's style!! The atmosphere was like a pub should be, not quiet, not not seedy or divey...just a pub!! The prices are also great for so-cal and some of the regulars told me that they do some really cool things like nfl Sunday brunch, fresh Mahi Mahi when available...seems like the owners just want to make it a good place to hangout at.

You can tell they have a good thing going. Friendly neighborhood bar "slash" restaurant in Huntington Beach! Come watch your favorite team play your favorite sport- lots of TV's.Cold Beer, cocktails galore and great food.Try the Philly cheesesteak and chili cheese fries. They have steaks and a breakfast menu on Saturday and Sunday. Ask for Kara - and the entire staff was amazing! I will definitely be back!

As we left after our very satisfactory lunch, my friend said "the only way this place could be any better, is if it were in walking distance!" This is the highest compliment my old buddy could possibly bestow.He had the grilled chicken sandwich with the onion rings! I had the steak sandwich with the shoestring fries. Ice tea for me, Diet Coke for him. With tip the bill was under $40!We came here because they have a lot of TVs and I wanted to watch the Angels game. Mission accomplished!The menu is expansive and all the food is pretty darn good! The prices are fair, plenty of free parking! Our waitress was a total pro and pretty cute to boot.This atmosphere is total divey sports bar. I guarantee you will leave happy!

First time here for lunch. Recommended by a number of friends from my new Friday Breakfast Club. We were talking at the "Chicken Coop" and they said that O'Connell's had the Best Lobster Rolls in the OC! Well, they were spot on with their recommendation!! Pure Deliciousness on our plates! Highly recommend and worth seeking this place out! We will return!!

Best neighborhood bar! Has that "Cheers" feeling where everybody knows your name, and there are regulars to always hang out with. Yes, I have become a regular! The drinks are always on point and the food is delicious and reasonably priced. The staff is super cool and the owners are amazing people! I consider them all my friends now! I want to give a special shout out to a few of them for always making us feel welcomed: Alex, Natalie, Monique, Damian, Jordan, Dave, Melinda, Cindy and Pedro! You always know what you're gonna get when you go to O'Connells: great drinks, good food, good conversations and fun atmosphere. Yes this is a sports bar and the games are always playing so Sunday mornings are very busy with football and baseball fans but it's all good. If you need to watch a big game come early so you can grab a spot otherwise you might be standing. My favorite night is Friday night and I always meet up with my Friday night regulars, after a long hard work week. I've been coming here for over 10 years now and I never get bored. Definitely my go to spot for a fun time!

The bartenders pour super heavy The food from the back is amazing. Unbelievable, and the service's top-notch. You can't go to a better place in o. C. I'm super happy and so is my girlfriend

Wow this place is packed on a Monday night which is good lots of people. It's good we got a table right away. I got the Philly cheese steak it's so good! Lots of tv's inside like wall to wall tv everywhere. First time here I will be back.

I was impressed by this bar! It seems like a spot for locals but it was packed early in the evening. Big menu, lots of drinks/tapsThe seating is a little weird but the servers were great. Only had drinks but I'd come back to try the food.

Definition of hole in the wall but place was so packed inside. They had every game inside which is what we wanted.Chicken fingers and fries was delicious even though you can tell it was from frozen.So many beer options, bartenders were also doing shots with customers and having fun. Open seating anywhere so gotta get there early.Only knock was you can tell air wasn't on or working so it was hot and sticky but got to watch all the games there.

We have loved this place for over 10 years. Our experience last night changed all that. Food was the same bar food as before but for the service, Im giving it 3 . We walked in and because it was superbowl, the place was packed, so we cozied up to a big party with 2 empty chairs! You know, being happy, friendly neighbors ! I look to the servers area and see 2 girls just chatting it up and notice BOTH of them saw us and continued blabbing. A good five minutes went by and I see one of the girls pass right by me(within 10-15 inches) and I put my arm out and yell hello, to which I got ignored. Then when she finally did come over she was very stearn and told us we HAD to move. Like it was illegal to sit together, but ok. No problem. If you like the worst seat in the house, right by the kitchen, bathrooms and very small servers area. After passing us 3 times she comes to the table and had such a hard time of understanding our simple order of wings and fries, I thought she was Helen Keller! She then tells me her name was denise and not to yell for her. Well denise, thats what I wanted from you when we walked in!! Not to ramble on, still good food for the price. And thats it!
