Great local food, delivery was fast and my food was super hot and fresh. -minus 1 star for the unpleasant cookies. I found it very unpleasant to open my fortune cookie only to find an advertisement for "Hulu" in my cookie. I know this sounds weird to some of you, but I find this so invasive. We have ads everywhere (like those awful gas station pump screens ) and now you want to sell ad space inside fortune cookies? It used to be a fun way to end a Chinese takeout meal and now it's not. Thanks for taking the fun out of that Some might say this is not worth removing a star for but I do, the restaurant made this choice to include these rude cookies with ads in them and to change the tradition from fun to phony.Otherwise, the food is great but skip the Advertisement Cookies Don't get me wrong, I love this place and you should try it too

Review: New Mandarin Garden in San ClementeI recently had a delightful dining experience at New Mandarin Garden in San Clemente. Their pork chow mein was a standout dish! The generous portion was packed with flavor and texture. The pork was cooked to perfection, tender and seasoned just right. The accompanying vegetables were crisp and fresh, adding a delightful crunch to each bite. While the dish didn't come with rice, the ample amount of chow mein was more than satisfying. I highly recommend checking out New Mandarin Garden for a delicious and satisfying Chinese meal.

We really love the food, we order Wor Wonton soup, Beef wontons for appetizer, the kung pau chicken, shrimp with lobster sauce and chicken fried rice, all the food was well served and tasted excellent! The service was also excellent. We will definitely come back.

Have been coming to this restaurant for food pick ups for the last 20 years and have never had a problem, and have always enjoyed the food, management has always been lovely. But as of recent, its not as true as it once was. Though I have little to no complaints on the food. There has been some minor differences, but have noticed its getting better over all. But what has me writing this review is because of a recent interaction that I had with Leen. Upon arriving for pick up, he was already being rude, but I looked past it. As the interaction went on we were checking out, and I asked for hot sauce and he practically tossed them at me. I asked him what was his problem? We had some back and forth, I asked him if he was stupid, and he snapped back with how I AM stupid. Being a long time customer this was very unsettling. The change in atmosphere and attitude has me rethinking my usual food spot. I really wish for this place to try and improve upon their service, but so far the food is still good.

We wanted to try a different Chinese place than the usuals. I'd heard of New Mandarin Garden and decided to give it a try. Saturday night 6.30pm, we walk right in. Only a couple of other tables were in use. Hmmm. Well, maybe the local community is take out. (Sure enough, a number of folks came in for their to go orders while we dined.) My wife got her usual Kung Pao chicken. I wanted not only try a new restaurant but also a new dish, something I hadn't eaten anywhere before. I opted for Pork Egg Foo Young. Both items were delicious! Outstanding. Portions generous. Service was great. The only problem: parking. Be patient, grasshopper. It is well worth the wait.

After a couple bad experiences, see previous reviews, I decided to try again since the Yelp reviews were not looking too bad. Here's a quick update. A vast improvement from our last couple of tries. In fact I will try it again in the future because of our more positive experience. We do take out so I can't comment on the sit down service. We had a variety of food including chicken and black bean sauce, mu shoo pork, hot sour soup, egg rolls and fried rice. All but one was very good and large portions. The one that still amazes me is the "fried rice". It is basically white rice with soy sauce. No flavor. I would rate the fried rice at 1 star. Go. Eat Well (except fried rice). HAVE FUN!

Staff was very friendly and eager to make sure you have everything you need like water, tea, sugar I was happy with the service. Our food tasted fresh and the portions were good. I definitely recommend this Chinese restaurant because of the good food and good service. Will definitely return!

Vacationing in San clemente we decided to give this place a try. After reading some of the reviews we almost changed our minds but didn't feel like driving out of town for Chinese. I'm glad we didn't. Turned out to be one of the best Chinese I ever had. Being from Los Angeles where Chinese food is king, this place would knock 98% out of contention. The food was excellent, service was great, the ambiance, well, typical Chinese.. but then, you go for quality of food everything else doesn't matter. The place was clean so don't get me wrong and I highly recommend this place if you are ever in town. Our only regret is not eating here twice but look forward to eating here again when In town

Has been new management for months now. Not happy with the dishes - Received chow mein that had NO FLAVOR - very bland. Sring Beans and chicken has NO FLAVOR - NOTHING like the prior chief recipes Not very happy with the new recipes . I will not be returning . To top it off the forune cookies are CHEAP and have no furtune inside. So sad I have been going there for YEARS.
