First night back in the OC and I received an email showcasing some of Yelp's newest restaurants in the OC. We had errands to run in Costa Mesa so we decided to check out Nai Tong. Still on soft opening mode so the menu was somewhat limited. The lovely owner Bew is so sweet and we learned that several members of her family has been in the restaurant industry in SoCal for a long time (from San Diego to LA and now OC).We ordered the following: * Fish cakes for appetizer, love the sauce that came with it. * Holy Basil with Crispy Pork Belly. This was full of flavor, and really love the sauce and everything that came with it. Definitely scored high on craveability. The only request I had which I relayed to the owner is - the pork belly was a little on the tough side. I made suggestions for them to try to remedy that. * Pad Thai with Shrimp was on point. Hubs enjoyed and devoured it in no time. * Thai Tea and Green Tea were on point as well. They have desserts coming soon that we cannot wait to try. I forgot to take pics of the menu so I took screenshots of menu from their website. Would definitely be back to support Bew at Nai Tong. Go check them out!!!

Is everyone reviewing this place high? I used to come here allot when it was Thai One kitchen. I was hoping the new ownership would be good. I'm soooo disappointed. Portion sizes are easily 50-70% smaller! The price for what you get is ridiculously overpriced! Taste wise, here you go: Pad see ew- taste fine, noodle amount could fit in the palm of my hand, barely any noodles and beef was toughSpicy noodle- same complaint as aboveCrying Tiger- soooo tough, like it was made from chuck steak. And expensive!Tom kha soup- holy crap this was so sweet, easily the worst I've ever hadSpicy eggplant- not even kidding, there was 4 slices of eggplant and the rest was onion. Pad Thai- regular amount and normal flavor so maybe the best one. This place was an absolute rip off and the flavors are a mid or miss. I'm so sad because it was my local spot. I have Thai family and there is no way I would recommend this place. Portion sizes are paltry, meat is incredibly tough, and flavor balance is Americanized. We noticed that they also have sugar in the condiment containers that contain chili so I think they really like to amp the sugar in some dishes like the terrible Tom kha. Thai One kitchen wasn't the best Thai food but it was decent and at least there was enough to fill you up. Now, if you order one noodle dish for one person, you will absolutely not be full and forget about sharing. Sadly, I'm off to find another local Thai spot.

Wow wow wow!!! This has got to be one of the best Thai restaurants in OC! I've searched, tried, driven to many cities, for years, to be disappointed by the high reviews and mediocre food. I'm so thrilled this place is here!!Ordered the green curry, beef salad, fish cakes and pork neck. Everything was delicious. The pork neck was a standout star! Absolutely delicious grilled pork perfectly seasoned, tender and juicy! The green curry is a bit spicy and has a big punch of yumminess which goes well with rice. The fish cakes, so flavorful, are great as an appetizer. The only item that could be improved on was the cut of the beef. It was somewhat grisly and fatty although the red meat was tender. It's kinda confusing finding the place at first. The parking is in the back of the restaurant. You have to walk around to the front of the building to access the entrance.

I visited this new thai restaurant in Costa Mesa with some friends and had a delicious dinner here. I ordered the Grilled Pork Neck as an appetizer, thai tea for my drink, and the Khao Kra Prao Crispy Duck for my entrée.All the food came out relatively quick and service was also friendly and the staff were checking in regularly for water refills and to ensure we were having a good meal. The thai tea was creamy and rich and one of the better ones I've had compared to most thai spots in the area. The grilled pork neck was tender and juicy and the included dipping sauce added some extra sweetness. The portion size was also good and easy to share. The Kra Prao Crispy Duck was absolutely delicious and one of my favorite thai dishes I had. The crispy duck was crunchy and had good flavor and the sauce mixed with the peppers and the crispy fried egg on the side with the rice made for a filling plate!Overall, my friends and I had a great dinner here and I would highly recommend checking out Nai Tong if you are in the area and want some amazing Thai food! There's plenty of seating inside and it's well-lit and they just recently opened, so it isn't too busy right now.

Nai Tong might just be one of the top Thai restaurants in the OC area !!I had a great experience here, ordered take out - Crab Fried Rice and Pad Kra Pao (Holy basil) with minced chicken. For the cost your paying you are getting a pretty good deal here. Service was excellent, it was nice talking to Eric who was very polite and informative.Coming to the food, the crab fried rice was excellent, they have a skilled chef working for them, and the Pad Kra Pao was amazing as well. They have a pretty spacious dining area, and you have parking at the back of the restaurant. I will be back to try out their other offerings. My fellow Yelpers have to try this restaurant out !!

This is a no-frills spot that serves solidly good Thai at a good price. We got some tasty Thai iced tea ($3.95) that came in a cute mason jar, spring rolls (basic), Tom kha soup (really good!) and some pad see ew. We weren't asked about spiciness levels, which is a bummer, because everything was spiceless/mild and I'd prefer a kick. That said, everything was still very good and freshly prepared. The space is not the best for a dine-in experience -- there's a huge empty pastry case taking up the majority of the room and no bathroom inside the building (you have to walk around the back of the building in an alleyway apparently?) so this might be a takeout-preferred option.

Found this place on Yelp. Was excited to see the good reviews & wanted to try new spots. I was starving after a long day at work. Was looking for a really nice meal. Yes 5 stars for the great customer service, but the dishes it was disappointing, 3 stars. Too much sugar in everything even their curry, I can taste the extra sweetness and I didn't order the pineapple one. I even brought out how much I dislike sugar before ordering. I have eaten at many Thai places but this place uses way too much sugar. Being a healthy eater & compare to other restaurants in the area that are really good, I won't be coming back here.. nor would I recommend my friends to come here. Just speaking my truth. I still tipped server 20%
