Not sure why the English name is Restaurant Miranda since they are a Vietnamese/Thai restaurant? This place is authentic (couldn't exist in Fountain Valley if it wasn't) and it looks like you better speak Vietnamese to eat here (although the servers do speak English) but the specialty dishes here are not my thing such as catfish. They do sell Thai dishes like Pad Thai but was told by friends who selected this place that it's best to stick to the Vietnamese dishes. The clay pot braised catfish, hot and sour soups, purple yam soup (didn't get), stir fried ong choy and shaken beef are the dishes that people come here for. So, find what sounds good to you on the Vietnamese Specialty Dishes section on the menu. After reviewing the menu closer, this would be a 4-star review if I got to order the food I liked (LOL).Check out the menu and my pics.

Tucked away as the last suite among other businesses in the trip mall, you can be assured to walk into the right with the nostalgic design of the mid-size restaurant sign. It gives an 80's-90's vibe that of an Asian household. In fact, the whole restaurant is made of the early is made of that vibe. It was filled with Love is what the vibe is. From the people, to the food, to the decor. Everything is made and curated with loving intentions and gentleness. The menu items are 100% family's recipe (told by the owner) and that the owner's mom is the one that does the cooking! For the items being family-style, surprisingly, everything is cooked within a reasonable wait-time! Since it's the fam's recipes, you'd get the authentic flavors that cannot be replicated anywhere else. And that what makes you feel so loved and close to home, for me at least!

Wow, surprisingly very very good! It's a hole in the wall, and definitely a low key spot that is popular amongst the older folks. Comfort food Family style dining. We ordered the braised catfish in clay pot and the "Dinner for 4" for $48.95 that included - seafood tom yum soup, fried fish with sweet and sour dip, sweet and sour pork, stir-fried chicken chili and garlic mint, and stir-fried vegetables. What a deal!Enjoyed everything we ordered. Every dish was so flavorful. Such a great find! They even served some hot mung beans with tapioca dessert at the end of our meal. We came around 6pm and it was really busy. There was a line outside with a waiting list by the time we were finished with our meal. They close at 7:30pm so be sure to arrive before the dinner rush. Will definitely come back again soon!

This is authentic Vietnamese restaurant. I ordered : Hot and Sour soup with taro stem catfish . Braised catfish in the clay pot , Crispy tofu , lemongrass chicken, stir fried Ong choy with garlic . Food was just okay , a little sweet for my taste . The portion size very little for the price. Everything we had to ordered 2-3 dishes but we're still hungry, bad service and you have to pay attention to your bill to make sure that they add up right! .

This tastes like if ba noi was in the kitchen during a comforting visit, making you all your favorites. In fact, they are probably hiding a ba noi in there and making her cook, everything is just so homemade and authentic, and the interior/ambience reflects this exactly too. Don't expect your pho, or your bun, or any of the mainstream stuff. Its family style big meat/tofu/veg/soup dishes. Also some thai influences. GET THE FRIED TOFU. If you don't get this, you weren't even here and you failed. Big time. Its utterly delectable.
