Excellent Japanese restaurant.Everything I ordered was very tasty and fresh.My friend ordered a bento, very fresh and made to order.The chef gave me an orange peeled to look like a bear so cute. Highlight: I dropped my wallet, little change wallet , the waitress came out of the restaurant and returned to me. Thank you so much.

Unfortunately, I have to give a very disappointing review not because of any individual element, but because overall the value simply isn't there. Way too expensive for the quality of the food.The server was polite, allowing me to sit where ever I wanted, and got me my drink and order quickly, so that's a plus. Looking at the menu they had a lunch special bento box for ~15 that came with 3 items and no substitutions. So I tried to order, but was told immediately they were out of teriyaki chicken. When I asked what I'd get instead they just said everything else. Was it at least more of each? She didn't clarify. So I tried to accept Id just get more sesame chicken and place my order. I was then told they had no gyoza either. So now my lunch special was down 2 items, no substitutions. So ... I guess I'll order a regular bento box with 3 items. That was ~18 but at least I could pick what I wanted.But apparently the teriyaki beef was $3 extra. So my bill bumped ~$6. The spicy tuna? Also $3 extra. I was getting bump after bump simply trying to replace the regular items with things they had and getting up charged. I could have just given them money for less food? Either way, I feel like I was getting scammed.By the time I was done, the bento box and 1drink was ~$42 after tip. That's a LOT of money for a simple bento box (teriyaki beef, salad, miso soup, spicy tuna roll, one more item to replace the gyoza.) A few blocks down the street you can get the same food for half the price. So it better be twice as good, right?Sorry but I don't feel it was. The teriyaki beef was super lean with no marbling and cooked medium well. That left it way too chewy for my liking. The miso soup was really good, but it's not like that's hard to find. The spicy tuna roll tasted like the same spicy tuna you can get just about anywhere else.Was Minato bad? No. IT was squarely OK. But I couldn't help but feel like I way overpaid for what I got with a staff more than happy to either upcharge or give me less with no discount.

Best sushi deal I've ever had! Definitely a great deal and you don't sacrifice the quality of food for it. Basically when you eat in, you can get 2 rolls and 1 free. Shareable portions and great service! Very nice and quiet in the restaurant, no weird stuff going on. My go to place for any sushi related things now!

It's been years but I came back to Minato with my best friend and her husband. I came here years ago because it used to be AYCE. Sadly, that is no more at this establishment. I will say the sushi rolls are still good, but it wasn't anything amazing tbh. I've definitely had better sushi at other places but for buy two rolls, get one free, it's not bad if you're having a hankering for sushi. Just don't expect to be blown away.

We arrived one Saturday evening. First thing is we are instructed to sign in. There was a younger guy that works there who seemed lost and an older guy. That was it. We were told to take any tables with 2 chairs. We sat down in the center of the dining room. Between the tables and the sushi bar. And we waited. And waited. And waited. Finally we had to flag down the younger dude. We gave him our order. Then waited. And waited. And waited. We did receive our soda. Which was flat. A young lady server appeared and took the orders of people who arrived AFTER us. Everyone placed orders and got them but we continued to sit and wait, in the center of the room. The trio servers passed us several times but never asked if we had been helped. Finally we canceled our order and paid for the drink. PAID FOR THE DRINK! No apologies or even an offer to give us the drink for free as a way to make up for the poor service. We aren't going back again.

I've been here since a kid as my dad would take me here. I don't know why but it's been many years since I've visited back.thats life for me, been moving and finally am back. My dad has always been going here and hasn't stopped. I've recently revisited and it brought back so many memories. This time the whole family came with this visit. We were served quickly to get drinks and a sushi menu. Of course my dad and I fight over the menu to put our orders tallied in. The quality of the fish was so fresh and perfect! We love to order some with the belly so it just melts. I kept asking why I haven't been going here to myself. It's so delicious! Go enjoy some sushi, this restaurant has it down!

(Not that I've ever been there, but still)The Washington roll is my personal favorite which is salmon sashimi on a California roll (simple yet perfect)A close second is the Palm Springs roll. It's a California roll with tuna and Tomato ! ( I know right!) Our server recommended this to us one time and we thought, well we come here a lot, I think we can trust these people)And then I trusted them...And BOOM and fantastic sushi roll ended up in my mouth! 10/10 recommend, this is our sushi place and will always be our sushi place!!Highly recommend

The salmon at this restaurant is very bad. It tasted so fishy and off that I couldn't eat the sashimi and salmon roll that I ordered. Hopefully I won't get sick.The crispy rice with spicy tuna and the chicken teriyaki were good, but the whole thing was ruined by the salmon.

Started going here again after avoiding it for a while and they have improved a lot. The quality of food and wait times have been great even during peak times. They started giving out oranges cut and displayed decoratively as free desserts at the end of meals. Happy to enjoy it again. I keep going back.
