WOW!!!! Out of this world!!! GREAT FOOD AND SERVICE. Daughter went there once before and knew my wife and I would like it. Well, WE DID. Will be back for sure. Owner is super nice and I got to chat with her before I left.If you like Italian food this place is a MUST!!!!

A disheartening and discriminatory experience on Valentine's DayI am deeply saddened to write this review, but I feel it's crucial to share the appalling and racist treatment my husband and I endured at Mazara Trattoria on Valentine's Day. We arrived promptly for our 7:45 reservation, and were told our table was not yet ready, that they were just preparing it for us. Thinking it would be a short wait, we waited outside while our table was supposedly being made. After a short period, we watched in disbelief as three different couples--who arrived after us--were seated ahead of us. This continued and 3 more couples were seated before us, in all six white presenting couples were seated before us. While we were confused and upset, we chose to remain patient.Eventually, I approached the hostess to inquire about our table, and when we were finally seated, we were placed at a table that wasn't even prepared--no water, no menus, nothing. To make matters worse, one of the waitstaff tossed our silverware in front of us with no apology or courtesy. We were treated with complete disregard.As if this wasn't bad enough, we soon learned that a couple with an 8:00pm reservation--15 minutes after ours--had been seated before us. It was clear to us that we were being unfairly ignored and disrespected, while others were prioritized. This blatant disregard for us left us feeling humiliated and excluded.We were so hurt and shocked by the treatment that we decided to leave without even having dinner. As a former service/hospitality industry employee I understand that Valentine's Day is an incredibly busy night and I appreciate the amount of work that it requires. I also understand that regardless of how busy a night is every patron should be treated fairly and decently. Our special night was ruined, and we couldn't help but feel that the way we were treated was racially motivated. The painful reality is that Mazara Trattoria clearly doesn't value people of color, and I feel compelled to warn others to think twice before supporting a restaurant that doesn't treat everyone with respect and dignity.I hope the owner takes a hard look at their practices and learns how to treat all guests with the respect they deserve. Sadly, that was something my husband and I did not receive.

Everything here is divine. Burrata and prosciutto is my favorite appetizer. I've had it elsewhere and nowhere compares to mazara. Rigatoni allá vodka is superb. Lobster ravioli is decadent. I have never ever had a bad meal here. It is dimly lit, romantic, and intimate. Always a great date night spot. Thank Laura and Gino!

Came here on a Friday evening after finding this place off yelp from doing a search on Italian places in my area. My son, a fervent vegetarian and teenager, after nearly half an hour of mulling over places told us he was staying home. No wait for party of 3 despite the small place it is. Service was friendly, as there are only like 2 people and a nice blonde lady who I am guessing is the owner. I ordered the linguine fantasia, bf got something with pesto and chicken, my friend in town ordered their lasagna. Everyone was quite happy with their order. Halfway through, the owner walked up to ask how we were enjoying our meal. I asked for gnocchi to go for my son. She said they'd wait until closer to the end of our meal to prepare his meal so that it's hot when I get it to him. Very sweet and thoughtful. My son said the food is good so we will definitely be back.

Fabulous experience. Marinara olive oil and pizza crust rival the best I've had in Italy. Fish (branzino) perfectly prepared. Possibly the best little trattoria in the OC; however service thin weeknights, but additional staff added Friday and Saturday nights. Go and experience a taste of Italy, in Huntington Beach.

Mazara Trattoria is a cozy and quaint Italian restaurant in HB. We were looking to try something new, and we were definitely happy with our experience. The complimentary bread was good but inconsistent. Some pieces were harder to chew than others. As for pastas, we ordered the rigatoni alla vodka and rigatoni con salsiccia. The vodka pasta was definitely the star of the show. The sauce had just the right amount of cream and beautiful flavors. We added some chili flakes and it elevated the dish even more. I wish they offered a spicy version of this pasta on the menu! We were lucky enough to meet the owner Laura, who was so friendly and charming. A great local Italian spot.

This place is ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS and satisfying! Authentic Italian food. The Rigatoni Con Salsiccia was a delight. The rigatoni was cooked to perfection and the sauce was absolutely breathtaking. The cheesecake is homemade and was fluffy and melting in your mouth. One of the best cheesecake I've ever had.The service was incredible. Milena was so sweet and attentive. Laura the owner was very kind and greets every table and makes you feel so special. Highly recommend this beautiful restaurant.

If I could give it higher than a five I would the food the service and ambience is perfect. I ordered the rigatoni with sausage and spinach incredible sauce and flavor. My buddy ordered the seafood pasta, and the seafood was so fresh and the prawns and shrimp the clams, but the linguine sauce was cooked perfect. Forgot to add the minestrone soup all I can say was incredible.

We stumbled upon this little gem and thought to give it a try. We were so pleased. The food was fantastic and the service was great. The owner was very friendly. Can't wait to go back.

We are runners and every year we run the Surf City Marathon Half Marathon.Needless to say, we need to carboload for the races and this is an excellent place to do that. I mean what's better than Italian food to carboload you!!We have been here for several years now and never been disappointed. The food is fantastic and quite an assortment of it! The service is impeccable.The atmosphere is awesome and you get that family place ambiance.Highly recommend this restaurant to anyone if you enjoy Italian food.We will be back again!
