The food is excellent and authentic and that's coming from a full blooded Italian! They catered an event for my club (over 100pp) as well as a smaller personal event, both were classy, received well by all and easy to work with. Highly recommend for catering both small and large events. The Lasagne was outstanding! Thank you Lida =)

We had lunch here on Saturday. There is plenty of parking available. The restaurant itself is small and charming. Service was amazingly friendly and helpful.We ordered an antipasto salad that was delicious and refreshing. It was a large portion that could have easily fed 3 people. We also got a spicy Italian melt sandwich. It was served on a light and flaky French baguette. We destroyed the sandwich and totally recommend you get one too. Next uo was the lasagna. One of my favorite pasta dishes and this one is no exception. A large portion of lasagna with melted, gooey cheese and a couple of pieces of garlic bread. A large portion that will fill you up. Finally, we got a garlic chicken pizza. The fresh tomatoes, moist chicken and ample garlic made this a must have pizza.Everything was so food and this will be your new favorite Italian place.

Came here on my lunch break, and ordered a slice of pizza and an antipasto salad. Friendly service, and options for dine-in, patio seating, and take-out. I opted to sit outside, and the tables were so dirty and wet from dew. I ended up cleaning up my table and chair while they worked on my order. I ordered a slice of BBQ chicken pizza, which was okay. The real star was the giant bowl of antipasto salad. It was packed with fresh ingredients and tons of meat. The dressing was great and I had enough to dress the salad well. I ended up taking the rest home and my son was very pleased with the flavor of the salad.

Right across the street from an epic surf break, 56 st. Mario's has wide variety of Italian food to choose from including pizza by the slice. They also serve beer and wine to pair with your meal. They're meatball sandwiches are yummy

This was our first visit to Mario's in Newport! We decided to try a variety of dishes and were pleasantly surprised by each one.The Caesar salad was a hit, especially since the dressing came on the side -- because I don't like my salad drenched in dressing. The salad was fresh and flavorful and the extra toasty focaccia croutons added a delightful crunch that we absolutely loved.The pasta dishes! Both the Mario's Special and the Lasagna stole the show! The Mario's Special lived up to its name with every mouthwatering bite and the creamy ricotta cheese in the lasagna paired perfectly with the bright and savory sauce. Each pasta dish was a winner!While the small combo pizza wasn't our absolute favorite, it was still good. However, it was the pasta dishes that truly won us over.Overall, our experience at Mario's was fantastic and we're already looking forward to coming back to try more of their delicious dishes!

I like Italian restaurants and this is one of the best in town. I highly recommend the pasta. I got the Mario's special (chicken penne) and the meat lovers pizza. I got the tiramisu for deessrThe service is always fast and friendly and attentive here. They also have other things on their menu like sandwiches, salads and other things. I can't wait to try more of their other dishes.It's hard to find parking in Newport Beach and I'm glad they have their own free parking lot.The interior is has a very elegant vibe. It complements the experience really well
