I always love taking my baby Golden Retriever to the doggo beach in Huntington because we love being here. But, we haven't been back since the fires and Tuesday was our first day back. We decided to just jet it to the beach on an empty stomach and figure out food there after our beach festivities. I found Mama's on 39th through Yelp and boy am I glad I went here!Our server was Amy and we were seseated on the patio. Amy, first off, is any restaurant owners' dream server. She understands her customers, shows and amazing amount of love for their doggos/ccompanions, and knows this restaurant so well!!We sat on the patio and Amy was so kind to turn on the overhead heat lamp for me. We were semi soaked from the beach. They have a doggy menu and are extremely vegetarian (me, hi!) friendly! Their happy hour $5 Mai Tai is a must and I was so thrilled to see they served steak fries!!! I got the beef and veggie meal for Kealoha, my puppers and I ordered the veggie burger but thanks to Amy she let me know it normally comes on a lettuce wrap because their huns aren't vegan. I am not vegan but a vegetarian so I asked to have a bunch because I love my carbs. No tomatoes or pickles ans add raw onions on top of my grilled onions. I also got their happy hour Buffalo cauliflower appetizer and it was so good! It's served with a side of ranch! I definitely have to come back here because I loved Amy and I saw they had boozy milkshakes and need to try one next time! 10/10 would recommend. There is ample parking and it's away from. The Huntington Pier but worth the trip for sure!

What an amazing comfort food spot for dinner, brunch, or breakfast for dinner! The menu is gigantic and printed as a newspaper, which is only one of the fun quirky things about Mama's. In the past few months, I've tried the hash-a-burrito, sourdough breakfast melt, and Gary's bbq pork grilled cheese Sam-wich. I've shared the entrees and highly recommend doing the same or being ready for leftovers because the portions are massive just like their menu. Mama's has different specials every day of the week and offers a happy hour. I plan to come back for happy hour or another time I want some comfort food.

I can see why this place has the ratings it does!After the initial 25 minute wait (Sunday at 11:30a -- so expected), we received really friendly service that is efficient without feeling rushed at all. I came for the biscuits & gravy and it didn't disappoint. It's a bacon and sausage gravy, which is nice to see a mix as most places are traditionally just sausage or bacon. The biscuits were amazing -- thick, warm and fluffy in the middle with a slightly crunchy outside. I would come back just for the biscuits and gravy!We also had the chicken and waffles. This was more "above average" but nothing too fantastic (except the gravy again). Chicken was good and seasoned well, but I would have preferred a thicker batter and more crunch to stand up to the gravy and syrup. Also, the waffles ended up getting somewhat soggy under the chicken from the steam/oil? They were good, but nothing amazing, in my opinion. So -- I would come back again for brunch/breakfast for sure and wait the 30m wait!

My husband took me here for a quick little celebration brunch and I had the most wonderful experience! Service was exceptional- everyone was so friendly and so accommodating. They really make you feel right at home.Menu has a ton of options - great comfort food! Best part is that the food is delicious, very generous portions IMO and cooked well! I got Mama's chicken and waffle along with Melissa's steak Benny and both were delicious from the sauces down to the way they cooked it all.We didn't even know kids eat free on Thursday's, so next time we will definitely come back with the kids! Definitely a great place for anyone to try!

Took advantage of the Yelp waitlist en route, and after checking in at the front, we were promptly seated with 5 minutes. Understandably, given the 3 day weekend, the wait between ordering drinks to ordering food was ~6-7 mins. Ordered a strawberry smoothie (wow, darn good, smooth, and creamy ), as well as Hash-a-rito with KBBQ + tots add-ins. Not only is it hard to find a burrito with Asian style meats, but the tots add in was superb, and provided some great additional texture to the burrito itself. The flavors were fundamentally sound. My girlfriend ordered the Drew's biscuit sliders which quite honestly, tasted better reheated the second day, given that fresh, everything fell apart and had troubles staying together in one piece. Would certainly look to come here for their bottomless mimosas and, really, for a busy day in which a hearty breakfast is a must.

I checked in online at 10:15am and got seated 3 minutes before noon on a Sunday. The host keeps telling us 20 more minutes after the 20 minutes. Understanding I had a large part of 11 and had to wait for tables to open up but it seems like they kept seating small parties that checked in after us. The food always satisfies the craving. I do love coming here for brunch and mimosas. The servers have always been pleasant and kind. Always giving the best recommendations. I highly suggest getting the red velvet pancakes. It's not overly sweet at all. I was surprised by how perfectly balanced it is. I really enjoy the loaded biscuits - I get extra gravy and my eggs over easy. I recommend checking in via Yelp if you do eat here to save some time and checking the current wait time. I've waited two hours in the past for a party of 2 before.

Great brunch spot!Inside is very spacious and modernly decorated. We were sat quickly on a Friday around brunch time. Looks like Yelp waitlist may be a good bet if you're coming on a weekend or with a big group.The menu is very charming, newspaper style! It's definitely more rare to see paper menus that have more thought/designs going into it :)We shared the Christy's carne asada fries. We also got the al pastor Mama's killer street tacos and Mama's blt. Plus points for accommodating our requests to put guac and sour cream on the side, and also making the bacon extra crispy! The Cadillac margarita was nice and strong ;-)We had a great brunch. Food and drink were tasty and reasonably priced. Good portions too!

Mama's has a great social vibe and offers just about anything from burgers to healthier options like the ahi salad which I loved!!!! Service is casual, reliable and friendly. Definitely recommend this place as the interior has a fun social vibe about it and is clean. Plenty of parking nearby in the hub parking lot.Classic Californicana
