Good food, somewhat pricey but I guess that's the norm now. We got the green dragon roll and chicken teriyaki bento. Just these two plus one soda can and then tip was about $45. Nice quiet lady who took our order and brought out our food. No music, small inside. Nobody else but us eating there around 7pm on a Saturday night.

DONT BE FOOLED BY THE PRICE ! 1. Very misleading poster in the front. It said orders over $25 gets a free hand roll BUT that was a May special. Like please take down the poster, don't advertise something that's a month ago. 2. Water tasted weird, very bad after taste. 3. Portions are small. Usually a roll comes with 8 pieces, this place came with 5.... In addition, with the tiger roll, I can taste how old and disgusting the oil they used was. Teriyaki bowl was also small....4. The ambiance was empty. Felt like an empty storage room 5. Service was mid. Never asked for refills or anything6. Very expensive for such small portions and below-average food.

Ordered from him for delivery. Love the fact that everything that was on my notes was actually seen. They did not take long with having it prepared, mind you it was lunch time so that was a plus! I dont have much to share since it was carry/delivery but the food itself was pretty good!

Saw this place driving down Fairview while looking for some Asian flavor and decided we'd give this place a try! It's in a strip mall close to the 7-11. My girlfriend who was with me told me she had tried Maki Yaki in a different location and said it was pretty good so my expectations went up a bit. Walking in, my impression was of a pretty old building with an outdated menu considering some were covered with paper and half of the menu was lit while the other wasn't. The inside dining area was quite small with only a few tables put together and none could seat a party larger than 6. We ordered the dynamite roll, baked lobster roll and pot stickers. For me, the food is what sells me! Looking at the pot stickers, I think they were hand made and after my first taste I was sure! They were absolutely delicious with a tender, savory inside and a nice crunchy shell outside. The baked lobster roll was so good with its blend of flavors and the dynamite roll was really good too. Overall, I'd come back and eat here again and recommend if you're in the area and are looking for a local place to have some good rolls!

Amidst a chaotic pandemic crisis on a harrowing California rainstorm night, I was in bed sick recovering from a massive surgery the previous week. I had no appetite for days post op, especially since I had seen first-hand what hospitals were like these days....They're running out of masks and gloves, let alone beds, which is why they sent me home immediately.... I can't even get a post-op oncology appointment until MAYBE JUNE, if I'm lucky??? They cancelled my previously set appointment, which was supposed to occur in 2.5 weeks from today. We finally decided that some hot soup and Soju would be awesome, so Makiyaki delivered some of my favorite food to my husband and me tonight. From the somehow still crunchy shrimp tempura and Tempura California Rolls, to the miso soup and gyozas, they delivered it all in tact (in mask and gloves)! They even delivered some Soju to help us pass time. For a moment, I was able to forget about everything else going on in the world. I forgot about my sister's baby being born in LA last Friday. She was able to go home with mommy and daddy the following day, but many newborns were not. They have a new 30-day minimum quarantine for infants born with the slightest health discrepancy these days. My parents, who, are first time grandparents ever, are so sad that none of us can go see her... PLEASE pray for all the newborns, sick, elderly, those on the front lines, and everyone in the world infected by this horrible virus. Thank you, once again, to all the local, small, family-owned businesses trying to stay afloat, while still serving their own community the best way they know how!!! Xoxo

I would have given a good review if the sushi was amazing but unfortunately it wasn't good. I order a baked salmon roll first and they told me that is will a few minutes which was fine. It took 8 minutes and 28 seconds for me is good timing because of the rice and fillings. As soon as my first bite of the baked salmon roll, something tells me that the salmon didn't really tasted like salmon. I order a simple California roll, when they gave me the California roll the roll was too salty and I didn't want to finish the California Roll but I had too. While I was eating the California roll, I saw the cashier on her phone instead of doing her work. Which brings me to never wanting to go to Maki Yaki ever again.

After dining at Mali Yaki and reading to all the Yelp reviews about the poke bowl, I realize that a majority of these reviews might of been written for the 50% deal that they offer if you do write a review. Honestly Maki Yaki is your typical KOREAN owned Japanese "sushi" spot. Cheap food but cheap quality too. The Poke Bowl was scary weird. The fish was grey and soaked in teriyaki sauce (which I'm pretty sure it's the one they use for their other bowls). The mix of fish was obvi all the bad cuts, dived into the smallest miniscule pieces, mixed with teriyaki sauce (not ponzu considering it was quite thick), tossed with diced BELL PEPPER, served with sliced mango, cucumber, and avocado. All of this was on top of steamed soggy white rice that was soaked in teriyaki sauce. The bowl didn't smell fishy but that's because it was DRENCHED with teriyaki sauce like wtf. Weirdest and grossest poke ever, will never come back for it and service was whatever. Keep in mind, you get what you pay for. Stay away from the raw fish here. Naaasty.

Very decent asian-fusion food - you're getting what you pay for. I ordered a bento box that came with teriyaki beef, a six-piece California roll, four-piece gyoza, salad, white rice, and a slice from an orange. While I was not blown away by any means, and I do wish my box had bigger portions, my overall meal was fine. I wanted sushi and rice on Christmas and Makiyaki delivered. The beef was by no means dry, the teriyaki sauce was sweet and flavorful, the salad was fine, the California roll was fine, and the gyozas were delicious. I would definitely order from here again. Support local businesses!

Spam misubi and spicy tuna was great. but unfortunately our hawaiian roll was really bad, the tuna on the top was discoloured with brown bits and with one bite I had to spit it out, It was chewy and dry and tasted wrong. Interior could use some love too maybe put some music on because it was dead silent and the woman serving us was just standing staring at us eat. She was very nice and on top of everything though.
