I've been here, a handful of times, and the three star rating on yelp is unfair. This place is nothing fancy but it certainly does ring home made, Vietnamese comfort food.Family owned, hole in the wall, serves three item combo with rice for $9.50cash only. You can't really beat that even fast food is more expensive. Go around noon time or at 5 PM for the freshest food. They sell out almost every day, and the weekends are even better. I wanted to give them a boost in reading because it is unfair of the rating, and this place should stay in business given the locals that come here often that probably don't yelp enough.

Picked up dried shredded pork last night. It was bad with green and black mold all over inside. I took a first bite and knew that something was wrong. So upon further inspection, I found mold. I think I paid $7 for it. It has no expiration date on the package. This is the 2nd time the exact thing happened with this item. I couldn't save any part of it. The mold is everywhere. Straight into trash. They really should inspection their food products.

There's no names on the food here so I don't know what it is called. I took a photo to ask my husband if he wanted something. Instead, I was told I cannot take photos of the food. I didn't see the small signage that said that. Weird policy but they should take into consideration not everyone knows what the food is and may take an innocent photo to ask their friends or family members if they want something. Or even better yet, photos can help with allowing other people to see what is being offered before they come in. It would actually help business. Not everyone is familiar with Vietnamese food to go places. I did apologize for taking a photo. The woman wasn't rude about it , I'm sure she was just doing her job. She said it's because they're afraid someone will copy their food?? You mean all do these traditional Vietnamese dishes? Anyways, enjoy the one photo I took that won't be that helpful on what they offer here.

I was going to Target and happened to see this food to go. Figured it be like the rest of the other places in Little Saigon. I walked in and was surprised to see the options that were available. I got the stir fry glass noodle tofu cabbage (delish), stuffed bitter melon with ground pork, noodles and mushrooms (acquired taste but it tasted like home-cooked with the bitterness, loved it), caramelized catfish (wasn't salty compared to the one in ABC market), mackerel fish stew (I personally liked it). I'll definitely come back. There might be a language barrier if you don't encounter a staff that speaks English. However, one can communicate pointing to which container (has price written on the display and point to what you want) to get your food. Or bust out the translation app and type English to Vietnamese. There's always a way to communicate nowadays. So don't let that prevent you from coming here. The prices at the food to go places aren't like how they used to be 10 years ago, so don't expect it to be super cheap. It's still a decent price for what you get. Of course, some of the items have individual prices like the fishes but just inquire before purchasing. I speak Vietnamese, so it's easier for me to ask before I purchase. But they don't mind letting you know how much the items cost. Sometimes you may encounter a customer that tries to cut in line and get their food in a rude way, but I always say no, it's not happening and you need to wait. Or sometimes I ignore it because I feel like doing a good deed for the day and let them get their food and be on their merry way. I haven't encountered a staff that is rude during the times that I have visited the store. They have a steady amount of customers coming in and out. There are some tables/chairs to have a sit-down meal. I like this place, so I will definitely come back in the future.Have cash on hand, I think they only take cash.

Nice area to come by even with bunch of local shops around. Eggrolls are bit stale but okay. Service was okay but can be more efficient. Prices are decent for what they have here.

My family and I have been going to Little Saigon Food To Go for at least 8 years and I have consistently been satisfied by their food and hospitable friendly service. The have an amazing variety of traditional Vietnamese dishes made fresh daily with love and it is incredibly affordable. You can get the a la cart for varying prices in small, medium or large. Pricing is usually relative to their costs, but usually affordable. The combos are great value. The 2-item combo is $7.50 tax included and the 3-item combo is $8.50 tax included. I usually go for the 3-item combo when I'm alone and it typically feeds me for 2.5-3 meals. The portion is huge!My dad's favorite that I always get for him is the Ca Kho To, or Vietnamese caramelized and braised catfish. He always compliments that they use quality cuts of catfish and taste better than the com phan/family style restaurants. I especially appreciate how the ladies will weigh the fish before they pour over the liquid and then package it very securely. I also buy my dad a copy of the Nguoi Viet Vietnamese newspaper while I'm there. In addition to the Ca Kho To, I also like the following dishes for a la cart or as items in my combo:- Ga Xao Sa Ot - Spicy Lemongrass Chicken- Ca Ri Ga - Chicken Curry- Dua Cai Chua - Pickled Mustard Greens- Suon Ram Man - Caramelized Pork Spare Ribs- Canh Chua - Catfish Sour Soup- Thit Kho - Braised Pork with EggsAnd many more! Their items are rotating so there are new options every time, but my favorites and the classics are usually available.Delicious, affordable and consistent. If I lived closer I would come here at least once a week and use their a la cart items to meal prep. Love Love Love this place!!

I'm not sure why I see negative reviews for this place. I've been here several times and will continue to come back for my traditional Vietnamese food. A plate of 3 choices w rice is $9.50 and it's delicious. I like the combination of sweet/sour catfish soup, catfish stew, and pork belly & shrimp. It's a great deal and the service is simple. They have tables and chairs to enjoy your food on the spot. They even have Vietnamese music videos playing on TV as the ambiance.

Stopped by around noon on a Saturday (June 11)The food isn't great. After eating their food, my stomach felt queasy. It doesn't taste like the typical things your mother could prepare for you at home. Aside from the cuisine, the customer service is atrocious. Nobody waits in line; you must either fight or be extremely patient to literally pay them and receive your food. I waited for a while only to be ordered to return to the line, which no one stayed in the beginning. They managed to rent a large space and had their counter wide open, yet they are unable to hear what the customers say just behind the food tray. I attempted to place an order twice and was utterly ignored by the ladies at the counter. I don't know if they were just having a bad day. Maybe that's how their baseline customer services are. However, based on the food itself, I wouldn't go back.
