The store is a neighborhood gem and well maintained. You'll find ones here that you sing find anywhere else. The meats at the carniceria are fresh, well seasoned, and reasonable priced. The staff is friendly, exceptional, and very attentive. I love that this store is close by!!

We bought a rosca two days ago. opened it up this morning and the bread is hard as a rock. What an embarrassment to bring to a family gathering. So disgusting. Owner please do better. Maybe get off your chair once in a while and walk your store to make sure it's up to date.

The best tasting ranchera asada around hands down! Give this place a try you won't be disappointed. This place is clean and fairly priced. They have quality meats and their marinades are on point!

I go here for the meat and some produce. I want to try their pan dulce and what a deception . I got the pan Dulce around 4pm then was going to have one around 8pm and it was hard as a rock. Like this store but I would not buy pan Dulce here neither bolillos same thing happened .

Love this place. Best asada you can find and the owners are really nice. I always love coming back.

RANCID CHICHARRONES - so you don't need to read the entire review, UNLESS you want...I've gone here several times because it's next to the windmill water refill station. I like some of the one-off products I can't get anywhere else - UNTIL I bought the rancid chicharrones. I figured from the neighborhood they have fairly good turnover - I was mistaken. Something showcased on top of the meat case should be checked regularly. Don't roll the dice - Northgate NEVER has rancid food for sale. Looking over La Venadita reviews, I'm seeing a lot of solo stars! Remarkable - with all the competition, you'd think they might heed what lost customers are complaining about.

Meat and Chips I bought were really good. Butcher department as plenty to offer. Service was also very good.

Been here before because it's a local well-known Whittier spot. I would love to recommend this place because it's a Whittier local spot but the fact that they sell spoiled meat is disgusting. I've bought meat from here and it was spoiled before. just thought I'd give this place a second try and it turned out to be OK the past two times but just this weekend I went and bought meat again and it was spoiled for the second time I will not be giving this place a third chance. I tried to go back to get my money back and the owner refused. I was calm and civil with the situation and I said OK and I just walked out. The only other thing I can do is warn other people not to buy meat here.Also just a fyi my family got sick

Glad I asked for a receipt to review and question charges. Bought 10 lbs of a meat @3.99 per lb. And a few extra items. I simply asked for receipt. Cashier asked "why is there a problem" , and started to look in the bags and saw an error in the price of the meet ( more than double the price). How did she know?! When she saw the discrepancy (without me saying a word) she mentioned the price was incorrect and scanned items again. I left massage for someone to call me and no one did
