La Torre

La Torre is a one-man show, featuring non-traditional empanadas made with tasty homemade sourdough crusts and a variety of gourmet fillings. I ate the Reuben, which had lots of tangy sourkraut, and the Chicken Chili Verde, which was packed with tender chicken and a delicious green sauce. After two, I was stuffed, so the Chicken Peanut Curry will get eaten later. It is a walk-in, take-out place that is self-serve. Jim, the owner, is very friendly and helpful. My wife got an iced coffee, which she said was delicious. Prices are reasonable: $5.50 per empanada.The location is right off of PCH, next to McDonald's.

Small shop located on the side of a restaurant/bar. They have outdoor tables you can enjoy your food at. House made sodas and handmade empanadas. Ben, the owner, took the time to explain his lovely food. Empanada crust is made in house, not store purchased and you can tell. It's unlike any other empanada; the crust is flakey and light. Taste was on point. Are they traditional? No. Are they delicious? Yes! No salsas needed. The fillings are well seasoned and flavorful. I came at 10:30am and he had just set out the lunch varieties. You pick your own from a hot case filled with labeled bags. Amazing and unique.

Today is 1/1/25 and What a great place to start the new year off !!! we got there a little bit before closing, and they still had about 12 or so freshly baked warm empanadas that were ready for purchase. We were able to grab two and i wish i had bought more!I had the meatball and it was crazy delicious! The pastry was light and flaky and the filling was wow factor and then some!! Savory flavorful cheesy....sooo yummy. my friend had the chicken chili verde and he really liked his too. We also got 2 of their in house sodas (the passionfruit and the lemon berry) both were really tasty and very much the same exact flavors as the names. Will definitely be going back and highly recommend this spot!!!

A friend just dropped me off 3 of the empanadas & I tried all 3. First off, all the meat was too salty for me, but the crust was thin & delicious. The chicken curry flavor is very flavorful & the curry isn't too overwhelming. The brisket has to be the saltiness out of the 3. The meat was tender, but too much salt was added. Lastly, the meatball, this somewhat remind me of Pizza Hut calzone when bit into the cheese & tomato sauce. The meatball was very moist & tender.

It's right next to Marni's. I had the pleasure of meeting Jim who's the one making all of this happen. I came toward closing time and missed out on some of the flavors, but it's all good because there was still a selection to choose from. Jim makes them from scratch! He also stated next time I can call and he'll reserve the flavors in the back for anyone that asks. I loved how savory the empanadas were. The Turkey sausage was very moist and had a good flavor to it and the meat was balance all around. The Spinach & Feta reminded me of a spinach dip and tasted great and not overpowering. The restaurant has a grab and go style and there is some patio seating to enjoy your food there. I can't wait to try my flavors!

We tried La Torre for breakfast and it was fantastic! Super convenient and fast - just grab what you want, pay, and eat. I had the chicken chile verde empanada, which was really flavorful with just a little kick. My 9 year old tried the breakfast empanada with turkey sausage, egg, cheese, & potato and he loved it. From the tiny bite he gave me, I agreed. Hubby liked the peanut curry chicken and after trying the turkey sausage, got one of those too. The owner makes everything from scratch and clearly takes a lot of pride in his food. Definite win and so glad we tried this place, we'll be back!

So so good! Stopped in here and so happy we did!Great veggie options. Great crust. Great customer service. Just a little shop on the corner. Great vibes. Will definitely be back! Congrats on the opening!

Excellent!!! Very sweet service too. We got the spinach and feta, the meatball, the barbecue pork and the chicken curry. Loved all of them. The spinach and feta are always my favorite. Looking forward to trying jalapeño cheddar and the broccoli and cheese too. The crust is amazing!!! At $5 each they are a steal. Perfect and wonderful for before AND after the beach!!! Great hand held for kids too. The owner goes above in beyond and is really just a great addition to the neighborhood!

One of the few spots I have been too which I can definitively give a five star review!!! amazing empanadas especially since they make their pastry in-house and it is exquisite. I can't wait to get back and try more of there empanadas. I had the meatball one which is not your typical empanada filling, but I will definitely have it again because I love Italian food and in this combination, I was blown away. They have quite a few different empanada flavors and the pricing is excellent, especially for all the time and attention that goes into this food. You can tell that they are not only good at what they do but they love what they do!!! Good personable service and clean, cute lil spot with outdoor seating. so happy they're here and I'm looking forward to going back.

I went there yesterday and brought a few type of empanadas home. To be honest I LOVE them all. Especially chicken peanut curry, it's my favorite now. Best empanadas I ever had! Stop by you won't be disappointed. It's easy to find the place and it's convenient for the parking.
