I'm not sure why there are so many 5-star reviews. My family and I went in around noon on a Sunday. We ordered carne asada tacos, carne asada bowl, chicken quesadilla, and al pastor tacos. After placing our order, we were informed that they were out of carne asada and would need to substitute it. It was disappointing, but we went ahead and swapped the carne asada for carnitas. The service was average, about a 3/5. The issue with the meat was a bit frustrating, but I let it go. The salsa bar was clean, though they didn't have the "Patrona" salsa, which is the spicy one. I asked one of the employees if there was any more in the back, and she said no, but another worker said, "I can get some for you." I sat down and waited for the salsa refill, but 10-15 minutes later, it still hadn't been brought. I gave up and decided to go with the medium and mild salsas instead. The food was disappointing. Chicken bowl 1/5: The chicken was dry and tough, making it hard to eat. I tried to use salsa to help, but it didn't do much. Al pastor taco 2/5: The pork was decent but lacked the signature al pastor flavor. The corn tortilla was a little too stiff. Carnitas tacos 3/5: The carnitas had a fair amount of fat and decent flavor, but the corn tortilla was again stiff. Chicken quesadilla 3.5/5: This was the best item of our order, though that's not saying much given how average everything else was.I really wanted to like this place since it's close to home, but I don't understand the high ratings. In my opinion, The Taco Stand, which is just down the street, is a solid 5/5.

Asked my husband to pick up lunch for me. After reviewing YELP reviews, I was eager to try this new restaurant one-mile from my home. I had two quesotacos- one chicken and one carnitas- and they were both fantastic! Corn tortillas were soft AND crispy at the same time (how did they do that?)! Loved the melted cheese and very tender meat with lots of flavor. I can't comment on the ambiance since I wasn't there but my husband did say only two other parties were in the restaurant when he ordered around 2 pm on Monday. I will definitely go back and try some other items. Based on my tacos, I recommend this restaurant.

Bomb little taco shop. Probably the best Birria I've had in south county. 10.99 for 3 tacos and consome is a good deal in my book. I'm def coming again.

Located on Alicia and Trabuco where the Smart and Final is.. parking is a breeze. Service is great with a friendly staff and the place is very clean inside.Tried a bunch of different things so we could see what was what.. soft shell tacos are fantastic and you really can't go wrong... Carne Asada was very good but the winner for me was the blackened fish taco.. seasoned well with a sauce that just sets it off to a higher level. The potato tacos are also fantastic and should be tried. The Horchata drink is great and has the right amount of cinnamon to make you crave the next sip.

I was excited when this place opened because it's so close to the house. I've now been there a dozen times or so. I have tried nearly everything on the menu and have been very satisfied with all I've eaten. The Birria Tacos are probably my favorite. The flavor is spot on. The restaurant is always clean, the staff is always friendly, the food is always fresh. I am hoping it continues to do well and stays open!

We just realized La Tia opened and we are always up to try new local Mexican food. It's in the Smart & Final strip so there's plenty of parking. There's indoor and outdoor seating available. We decided to get our food to go this time since the kids wanted something different than us. We ordered the La Tia Special which is 3 birria or chile verde tacos and consommé. I ordered the La Tia bowl for myself and my husband ordered the carne asada burrito. We had to order chips separately since they're not included. Our order was ready super fast even though it was 6pm dinner time on a Saturday. I have to be honest, for the type of place that's just a step up from being considered fast food I wasn't expecting too much, but we are both pleasantly surprised. My bowl was good. It didn't blow my mind but I'd definitely order again. The birria quesataco on the other hand is probably the best taco I've ever had. My husband tried the chile verde quesotaco and likes it even better than the birria. And like everyone else says, you definitely do not want to skip on the consommé! My husband, the burrito connoisseur, gives two thumbs up!The salsas are good but not amazing. They do taste homemade but we both agree there could be a better and more hot red version added to the salsa bar. Overall we both keep talking about what a good find this place is! The best part is that we got a lot of food for under $35! This might end up being a weekly stop!

JACKPOT!I had a wonderful experience at the newest taco shop in OC. It's called La Tia Tacos & More located within the shopping center located at the southeast corner of Alicia and Trabuco Road in Mission Viejo. They just opened for business.I dropped in around 10:00 am on a Saturday morning when I noticed their sign for the first time. The moment I walked in, I got a great feel and vibe. It was open, inviting, super clean, there are flatscreen TV's everywhere, it had an easy to read menu, and a killer above average selection of items at the salsa bar.A super friendly young girl took my order. "I'll take a chorizo and egg burrito please (it comes with cheese and pico de gallo, $10.75). "And I'd like to add rice, please." She says, " Do you want potatoes too...? "How about some salsa Fresca? No extra charge." Ah Yeah...Wow. I told the gal that this place just keeps getting better and better. "I'll also have a Quesabirria Taco too ($3.75)." That came with a cup of consommé and a wedge of a fresh juicy lime.I think you can tell a lot about a place by their salsa bar. This one was impeccably clean and offered great marinated carrots, pickled red onion (I rarely see that), chopped white onion, cilantro, sliced radish, an avocado salsa, a tomatillo salsa and some of the best salsa roja I've had in recent memory. The chorizo and egg burrito was in the EPIC CATEGORY. I was trying to remember if I've ever had one better and couldn't think of one. It was truly delicious and in perfect proportions. 5/5. And the same goes for the Quesabirria taco ($3.75). I've enjoyed hundreds of them and this was one of the best I've ever had. Two crispy fried corn tortillas loaded with meat and gushing with cheese. I poured some leftover consommé on my burrito. Insane. As I was waiting, I saw a local guy who obviously had been there before to pick up his To Go order and I asked him what he ordered. He said the blacken shrimp or fish taco ($3.50)/ burrito ($12.75-$13.25) are fantastic. He also gave a shout out to their La Tia Bowl ($9.00 + $5.00 to add chicken or carnitas). On his way out the door, he mumble under his breath that he was probably coming back later that day for dinner. What does that tell you?I was lucky to meet the owners and operators, Edgar and Lupe. These two seemed like special people and really know the business. They also know how to make excellent food at a value to the customer. They serve the highest quality ingredients at a below market price as far as I'm concerned. Edger also mentioned one of their specialties is their chili verde. I'd like to try their mushroom taco too. I'll be going back for those soon. Maybe Monday. I'm also going to start working my way through the menu and use them to cater my next event or office party.

Was excited to check out the new taco spot in town. Went with one of my kids and my better half. We tried several items from the menu. The staff were super friendly, the salsa bar was clean and fully loaded and the restroom was clean. The food came quickly and overall was decent. The potato taco got high praise. The asada burritos could use a little sauce or spice, but completely enjoyable and the prices were very fair. If you are up for some casual Mexican food, it's a good place to check out.
