La Mexicana Meat Market

Customer service was questionable but our asada burrito and a side of green chile HIT THE SPOT!! Yummerz!!!!!! Decent selection of fresh meats to buy and cook/grill/marinate and eat!! Small market but looked like it has the essentials of fruits and veggies and spices. Other simple household items available, too. They lost a star with the customer service. ------if you want to order food, you have to order at the register.

They came through with my large order for my son's party. The food was ready and hot right on time. Very tasty and presented well!

If you are interested for quality and great food to cook, I recommend Tacos Gallo Loco Meat Market! The chicken and steak are excellent for a taco party. They add their special seasonings on all their meats. I don't always cook, but when I cook for a big taco party, I get the meat from this place. As a result, I always get positive comments from guests as if I was an famous chef. Ask for Sergio

I love this place. Its a market, meat market, and hot food in the back. Let me just say everything I had here was good. The meat is all ways fresh (meat market) and all the lady's are nice

This place is great, Just had some carnitas tacos and agua de tamarindo, very fresh and delicious!!!

They value their customers and I really like their food. Especially, the tamalés. La Mexicana Market was one of the first things I thought of, when I returned home to California. ^_^ Plus, they have a Money Gram and an ATM. Their groceries are reasonably priced, for a smaller market. They have a great meat selection, friendly staff and are always very cordial and helpful.

WARNING- meat weight scandalThis was my first time at La Mexicana since my typical spot (El Cortez meat market) was closed. First impression was the condition of the interior which wasn't the best cleanliness wise. The store is packed with goods and it was a bit overwhelming. It also doesn't smell or look clean. The biggest issue I had was when the female attendant/butcher was helping me and the male butcher came near her and told her to choose the meat from the bottom as it's older (he whispered and spoke in Spanish) thinking I didn't hear or understand Spanish. I went on to share with him that it was my first time and told him that I typically go to another meat market, he boasted about the quality of the meat and threw in a free salsa. I also purchased bag of beans. When I went home, I noticed the "date packaged" section had been blacked out - but after holding it up against the light... I could tell that it was packed 8 days prior which is not the end of the world for beans but also inappropriate for them to black out the date like that. The worst part was the weight of the meat. After placing it on my kitchen scale .... I found that I was charged for nearly 1lb more than what I purchased (see picture).I plan to report them to the USDA Meat and Poultry Hotline and follow up on this matter. Extremely disappointed and unfortunate that vendors like this are still in business!

Too bad we can't rate zero star, shame on this store for price gouging. Trying to take advantage of its local customers at a time when they should be helping the community.

Been going here for over 2 years and now for some odd reason service has been going down the drain . I live in Norwalk but work 8n Cerritos . Stop by here in the morning to take to work some lunch . But now all of a sudden walk in to the store and everyone just talking away and no one to help you . They look at you and just turn around and keep talking . Sorry to say they lost my business .
