L&L Hawaiian Barbecue

I made a simple delivery order of vegetable curry with a side of chicken Katsu, like shown in the photos of DD. There were no vegetables at all in the curry-- not one piece-- only rice and Chicken Katsu (like 5 lbs of it!). Seriously, I got so much chicken I don't know what to do with it all! It's enough to feed a family of five in my honest opinion!I called the restaurant and asked about the vegetables, but the lady who answered got so irritated with me (I was only on the phone with her for less than 1 minute), that she hung up on me! The lack of customer service or willingness to substitute half of the chicken, for just some vegetables is reason for negative two stars. However, the chicken Katsu, was so sinewy, and had fatty parts, which usually shouldn't happen from a restaurant. I knew the L & L in Honolulu was subpar and I was hoping it would be a little bit better now after 10 years, but I was sadly mistaken. Never again!

It was one of those nights that it was too late to make something for dinner so we decided to stop at L&L. We're very familiar with L&L and have enjoyed it here on the mainland and and in Hawaii. Their Chicken Katsu is always delish and I have only had the kalua pork while in Hawaii.I spotted that they had an Ohana Meal Deal - which came with two meat choices, rice and Mac salad. We selected Chicken Katsu and Kalua Pork with Cabbage. The Chicken was really good and the serving was very generous. The kalua pork on the other hand wasn't good at all. I don't know what the flavor was - maybe too much liquid smoke or something - but definitely not the flavor I'm used to. The taste was so off that it was difficult to eat - I definitely wouldn't order that again.I also ordered a hamburger steak which was pretty sad. The patties were dry, the gravy was ok and it didn't have any grilled onions. It pretty much was a sad loco moco without the egg.The meal also came with white rice that was ok, and mac salad which was also just ok.If you're wondering what to order, I would definitely recommend the chicken katsu. That's all I can recommend at this point.I added an extra star for the staff that were friendly.

I came here to grab a late lunch and ordered their half and half combo mini with bbq chicken and beef rib. I also checked in on Yelp and got a free spam masubi. Everything was flavorful and the service was quick! I really like their Mac salad and sauces they give on the side with your order. It's nice and clean in here as well so definitely stop by and enjoy your meal here!

I ordered over the phone went over to pick it up 20 mins later. I get there only for the cash register girl to tell me they don't take Apple Pay ... I had to drive all the way home to get my physical card and she didn't even apologize or anything and she and her coworker were very unprofessional. When I came back there was a line and she didn't even have the decency to attend me quickly since she knew why I was back.

It's been a long time since I've had L&Ls so it was time for a visit. I ordered the half and half, which consists of two meats of your choice, rice and macaroni. It's $17.95 + tax and it's a lot of food. I should have opted for half but hey, I have leftovers for tomorrow. I chose the Katsu and Short Ribs. These were delicious. Took about 10 min to come out, and it felt like they were freshly made. If you order the full, I think it could be shared amongst two people. Has a Pepsi product machine (it's important for some people), and a fridge for other drinks including Hawaiian cans and bottles of water and different sofas.

My wife and I went in for lunch with minimal expectations and we were both pleasantly surprised by our experience. The quantity of food was amazing and the quality was even more impressive. The service was "acceptable". The cashier was friendly, but seemed mostly disinterested in doing anything but the minimum. Our cashier brought us our order in To Go containers, even though it was obvious we were eating there. This location seems like they expect customers to take their orders to go. Our order of Chicken Katsu had the perfect amount of golden panko breading on it and was quite plentiful. We found the Mac Salad reminded us of the Mac Salad we've enjoyed in Maui on previous trips. The Shrimp and Fish basket was very fresh and we ate most of that while in the restaurant. We took the rest of the extremely large portion of chicken home and ate 2 more meals off of it. It reheated in the air fryer very nicely.

Excellent food, fresh and well prepared. Great service with a smile. Looks like this pla e dows well $$.Spend some money on a window washer, paint and cleaning. The place is dusty... I'd have not eaten here if my son haven't told me how good the food is.

I love food and was wanting something to snack on.... So, noted on the menu spam musubi. The choice was to order two or three. I ordered the two count option. It was just tasty and satisfied my snacking mode. They have other delicious meal choices but today I was in snacking mode. Sorry don't have a picture but it was good. Yummy.

The portions here are huge! Seriously, even the mini is enough for at least 2 people! Delicious food and quick service!

Ordered a mini bbq chicken plate and it was a Huge amount of chicken! Excellent value for the $! Mac salad is my favorite from any plate lunch places. I will continue to go here for plate lunch!
