My husband and I have come back four times and more than satisfied with each visit. The review is strictly for their sushi and omakase.

Hidden Gem Alert This spot is very small .5 tables & the sushi bar so make reservations!Service is impeccable! Interior is very understated & clean. This is a great date night idea. The basic Omakase is $100.00 the premium with Japanese Fish is $150.00. It's actually a lot of food & the best value imo. I got the basic & our friends got staters & rolls. The small bowl that comes with Omakase was Ikura & Uni with a small dollop of caviar & it was so heavenly ! My favorite pieces of the 8 sushi was the Japanese scallop . The rice was cooked to perfection, all the fish was cold& the presentation was top tier. I'll definitely be back here !

Hidden Gem with Unbeatable QualityIf you're a sushi lover and appreciate a great dining experience, this hidden gem is one you'll want to seek out. Situated in an unassuming plaza, this restaurant's discreet location may cause you to miss it while driving by, but once you walk inside, you're immediately transported into a world of exceptional sushi and top-tier service. Here's a breakdown of my experience in terms of service, ambiance, and food quality. Service: Attentive and WarmFrom the moment we stepped inside, the service was impeccable. Our server, a friendly individual with long blonde hair (unfortunately, I didn't catch his name), was attentive without being overbearing. He checked up on us regularly, ensuring we had everything we needed and offering thoughtful recommendations when we were unsure of what to order.Ambiance: Traditional and InvitingThe ambiance of this sushi restaurant is a true reflection of its authenticity. Located in a low-key plaza that you might easily miss, the interior is a charming blend of traditional Japanese design elements. You'll find Japanese chefs behind the sushi counter, meticulously preparing your food with precision. There's something special about watching them cut and prepare each piece of sushi right in front of you -- it adds an immersive layer to the experience. The restaurant's design is cozy yet refined, with warm wooden accents and soft lighting that makes you feel right at home. The attention to detail is evident in the presentation of the sushi, from the container used to hold the fish to the careful arrangement of each plate. Every step feels intentional, from the moment you sit down until you take your last bite.Food Quality: Exceptional and Worth Every PennyNow, let's talk about the food. We opted for the $100 omakase, which turned out to be the perfect choice. While there is also a $150 option, the $100 experience provided more than enough, both in quantity and quality. The chefs were generous with their portions, even slipping in a few extra pieces, which was a delightful surprise. The fish quality is where this restaurant truly shines. Every piece was fresh, clean, and perfectly prepared. It's rare to find sushi of this caliber at such a reasonable price, especially when compared to other omakase experiences that can easily reach upwards of $250. In fact, after dining here, I can confidently say that those pricier spots are simply not worth it when you compare the quality-to-price ratio. The standout pieces for me were the halibut and the red snapper. The halibut was incredibly tender, with a delicate sweetness that paired perfectly with the slight tang of the rice. The red snapper was equally impressive -- firm, fresh, and bursting with flavor. The attention to the fish's texture, flavor, and balance with the rice made each bite an experience in itself. For the price, this is the kind of place that you'll want to keep to yourself -- it's one of those spots that feels almost like a well-kept secret. This sushi restaurant is a rare find, combining great service, a welcoming ambiance, and exceptional food quality all in one place. The $100 omakase is more than worth it, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for an outstanding sushi experience that doesn't break the bank. After having paid upwards of $250 for omakase elsewhere, I can honestly say this place stands head and shoulders above many higher-priced competitors. I'll be returning here without a doubt and will happily recommend it to anyone who appreciates high-quality sushi at an unbeatable price.

Very exclusive Japanese restaurant located near the Japan shopping center of Costa Mesa/Santa Ana border just a mile from the South Coast Plaza is fascinating and famous place for many reasons. One of which is the high priced Nigiri made with imported fish from Japan. Most of the Nigiri is a single piece starting from the $15 range for the high end imported fish and $5 per piece for local fish. The rolls are about $20 range. The appetizers and deserts are all very tasty. I recommend this place.

I enjoy visiting this slice of sushi heaven. The food is fresh, authentic and creative. The ambiance is casual yet intimate. I feel like I'm in a sushi restaurant in Tokyo. I'm always happy here. The service is friendly. Chef Richie is one of the best in town. The numerous visits I have made here never disappoints me. If I need to share a special meal, here is the place I take my friends, it's my happy place.

Good food, but far too expensive. The tuna was slightly fishy, and the service a bit slow.

An amazing late night sushi gem has been discovered in Costa Mesa. Chefs and service are top of the line with a very attentive staff. You must sit at sushi bar to watch the chefs do their magic! Everything we had was delicious and I'll be dreaming of that A-5 Kobe Wagyu with black truffle, caviar and gold flakes for a while. So so good. Also, they make an awesome blue crab roll that you can have cut, we had two of those bad boys. Salmon Collar was a great value for the price as well. We will definitely be putting K's on our preferred carousel of restaurants to frequent. Ambiance is casual and very chill so come hungry! Fumi is an amazing chef and was so kind, but he is only at this location once every 2 weeks on Friday. Other days he is at the Playa Vista location in LA. Trying to convince him to work more days in the OC!!!
