International Food Shop

I had a hard time finding the location because it was listed as 'African Hut' but the displayed name is 'International Food Shop'. The market was fine, but I thought it was more diverse and captured more areas of Africa only to find it was only the country of South Africa. It also had British items, which makes sense since they conquered South Africa if that is what you're in search of.

I made an order on October 30. It is now November 20 and still have not received it. When I reached out to international foods the person I spoke to told me they can't find my order and that it might have already been shipped out. Also that usps doesn't always update tracking information on time during the holiday season. Which I don't believe because I received all my other tracking orders from other purchases just fine. She told me the only way I would receive a refund is if I receive my order and return it. This was my first time order from this site and the lack of accountability and professionalism is crazy. I spent $69 that I lost and will never order from here again.

It's not closed. They're open online and in their new brick and mortar location. They have a fabulous selection of Brit foods, and they're nice and personable even online! The owners answer email personally. They also have a huge selection of other international foods (including African!!) and fun items as well. Only complaint - they charge for shipping.

Beware of this business! I was charged $34 on a $29 order for shipping and the company would not respond to my emails when I queried the shipping charges. In addition, the food shipped was stale; I threw away an entire English Christmas cake because it was inedible. Could it have been last years? I will never order from this company again. How disappointing because I had been excited to find somewhere to buy mince pies and English Christmas cake for the holiday season.

I arrived just as they had closed the other day, and despite this, the lady behind the counter allowed me to get my list of things, which I so appreciated. I managed to get my Christmas crackers and all my usual English things that I love!
