Ike's Love & Sandwiches

Ike's is amazing! Their sandwiches are so unique, with creative combinations that always hit the spot. The Dutch Crunch bread is incredible - you must get this bread with your sandwich!The best part, though, is their signature sauce. It truly takes everything to the next level. It's so good, you'll want it on everything. The sandwiches come out pretty quickly, and the service here is great, too. The location is nice because you can get your sandwich and sit outside and enjoy the District/do a little shopping afterwards.Whether you're craving a classic or something totally different, Ike's has you covered. Highly recommend for sandwich lovers!

Literally waited 45 minutes for a kids turkey sandwich with lettuce and dirty sauce.Today at approximately 1:50pm.Apparently they were tied up with a catering order.1. Grossly mismanaged store2. They are genius's to accept last minute catering orders.When I asked the status, the female employee (flustered from stress). Others are complaining as well.Turns out they did accept a walk in catering order.lol. What a joke. Ike's has always been great!But today they dropped the ball.Who accepts a walk in catering order.Never will I come to this location ever again.

Interesting name for a restaurant! I finally tried it today and went with the Matt Cain sandwich which has turkey, roast beef, salami, godfather sauce and provolone. I went with the Dutch crunch bread and of course being the spicy lover that I am, had banana peppers and jalapeños on the side. I also got a side of the seasoned fries. The atmosphere inside the restaurant is pretty plain, but the walls were filled with the theme of the name of the restaurant. It was nice since it gave me something to look at while waiting for my order. The service was ok. The preparation definitely took a lot longer than I expected for a sandwich and fries. Beyond that, it's always cool to see the food being prepared in the open and the ingredients being transparent in front of the customers. The sandwich was incredibly good! The savory flavor or the sauce, the fresh, crunch from the veggies and tender meat all wrapped together in really yummy bread made for an amazing sandwich. The fries were also thickly cut and seasoned really well. I'd definitely come back and highly recommend!

I had the Jaymeatless to go (hold the yellow BBQ) and it was so delicious. Very filling and lots of different textures from the chikn, cheese, lettuce, tomato, red onion, pickles, and signature sauce. I particularly liked the pickles which were fresh and not too pungent or overpowering.

Not skinny bread. It was more bread than the filling making the sandwich super dry and bland

Ike's is usually pretty dang good. Paul Reuben is my go to, but this time I ordered double meat and sure didn't seem like there was any more meat than normal. Zapp chips are a good brand so that's a plus. Gotta take a star off for kind of a skimpy $20 sandwich though.

Quality sandwich shop! First of timer here! I had the Da Vinci (+ onions), which was great! I paired it with the Sweet Creole Onion chips *mouth watering* I'd love to try other sandwiches on the menu! I loved the theme and philosophy(?) behind the shop! The lollipops they throw in your order is a cute little touch!

I love Ike's!! I love their comfortability in not being afraid to be real. Ike's is my favorite sandwich place to get the one and only John Wayne. The unexplainable dirty sauce is so crave-able along with their dutch crunch bread. I used to buy their loaf just to eat it in the mornings. The service is always so quick and laid back which I love when you don't need to do too much for a sandwich shop. I love that they keep a consistency with their sandwiches, it's like i fall in love all over again every time with every bite.

I generally love Ike's, but today's experience was lackluster. I placed a takeout order, and the order was ready for pickup right on time + service was attentive. However, when we brought the sandwiches home, we were disappointed to see that the Dutch crunch bread was lukewarm. Quite frankly, it tasted stale. The contents of our sandwiches were spot on, with meat and veggies loaded up. The lackluster bread, however, ruined our experience. Unsure if we'll continue with takeout or we'll go back to the Costa Mesa location.

Winner!!! Best Sandwich in Orange County. Yes, it is the Paul Reuben. Hands down the best I have ever had. A complete masterpiece of a sandwich. Dutch Crunchbread, toasted warm and crisp. Pastrami, home madepurple sweet and tangy slaw, French dressing and swisscheese. OMG, so good. The sandwiches are huge, I ate mine for two meals: lunch and dinner. I can't believe the customers around me who ate the whole sandwich in one sitting. Everything comes together, the textures, the seasoning, the uniqueness about this sandwich. I can't stop praising this place. Enjoy one of the best lunch options out there: Paul Reuben.
