Hopdoddy has some of the best burgers and fries around, decent prices considering the quality and good service and vibes. Starting with the food, everything is good. The meats are literally melt in your mouth good, soft and warm, just the way a burger should be. The truffle fries are a particular standout, the best fries I've ever had. The location and service are nothing to write a home about, but not bad either. I've never had anything to complain about so that passes my test. Overall Hopdoddy consistently delivers a great burger experience

I haven't been here in years, and to my surprise, the place is still clean and new looking, and customer service is just as great as it was when this location opened. Upon arrival, it did seem packed, but we were able to get seated right away. It didn't take very long to get our food after we sat down. Although they had several TVs displayed, it wasn't uncomfortably loud and I could have a conversation with my husband without shouting. While waiting for the food, I noticed that they always had employees making sure the tables, floor, and seats were clean. After the food arrived, a couple of employees at different times would stop and ask if we needed anything. They didn't seem miserable and were genuine. My burger was the classic burger and a side of large fries. My husband and I couldn't finish the fries and had to take some home. I wish they had a location closer to home, but I'd think it would be nice to have a reason to drive out to the OC for some good burgers at this location.

Great service, good bar-atmosphere, plenty of indoor seating. They take care of you quickly, and get you your food. Lots of screens as well if you'd like to watch a game!Double Bacon Jam (6/10)- Bacon was a little bit gritty, and it had a mildly strange texture to it.- I thought it would be sweeter, but it ended up being a pretty standard burger. The bacon was not particularly intense, and it felt a little subpar at the end for a $10 burger.Goodnight/Good Cause (8/10)- This one was DELICIOUS! NOT TOO SPICY! At first I thought it would be a spicy jalapeno burger that is a little painful to eat, but it was actually good with a tiny hint of spice- They use this special mayo, that really shined. This was not just an average tasting burger, but was much much better than the Double Bacon Jam.- Would get this one again!Parmesan Truffle Fries (8/10)- Given in a huge mixing bowl! Great portions- Definitely get this to share with someone else. Quite tough to finish for 1 person- Make sure to get their sauces at the register area. Honey mustard was fantastic!

Been going to hopdoddy since they opened up many many years ago and can say it's still my favorite burger and fry joint around. While I'm not often in Irvine, I come back to this restaurant every once in a while for the incredible truffle Parmesan fries and burgers. The prices have gotten a bit steep compared to what they used to be, but i recognize the fries are intended to be shared with others, hence them costing almost $10 for one bowl. I do wish they offered smaller portions of the truffle parm fries as it ends up being $20 to get fries and a burger if you want anything basic the basic salted fry. I used to get the classic burger, which is always perfectly cooked and seasoned but this time around I decided to try the el Diablo burger which was definitely spicy. I put the salsa verde on the side and ended up not having it as it was yummy but felt salsa didn't match their burger vibe. We all shared the truffle parm fries which were yummy but definitely lighter on the Parmesan and truffle flavor. It was quite a large serving as well so we didn't end up finishing them. I also tried the lavender cocktail which was pretty strong and not sweet but wasn't bad. Service was fast for 8pm on a Friday night. The line didn't take too long but only downside was the only tables left were outside so they're definitely still busy all the time. Overall highly recommend for solid burgers and fries, as well as the many new items on their menu!

Omg that burger was savory! So question is, was I just that hungry or did they really perfect burgers? I argue the latter. Nice, vibrant atmosphere with TVs playing sports games in the background. You can sit at the bar and be served fairly quickly, or suffer in the long lines around lunchtime. Ironically, this location is next to In-n-Out, which had an even longer line. It's as if it were burger row. Hands down, some of the best burgers I've had (been to other locations). The service is good and the staffs' t-shirts are witty. If you're looking for casual dining, scrumptious burgers (and fries), and are willing to pay more than In-n-Out pricing; can't beat it.

Ambiance is a casual burger spot - El Diablo (4/5): I didn't realize how spicy this would be! But a flavorful, cooked well, so tasty. - Truffle fries (4.5/5): These are yummy! Love the truffle, and fries are small and crispy.- Brussels (4/5): Only the Brussels leaves, but I would like the insides too. Good flavor!

There wasn't a long line when I came in on Saturday noon for lunch. Ordering was really easy as it's not a crazy extensive menu. I got the magic shroom burger and shared some parmesan truffle fries. Staff was super nice and attentive. The sauces were pretty interesting they had a caffeinated BBQ sauce which wasn't really for me but cool to try. I really enjoyed my burger I thought it was cooked well and the flavor was good. The fries were good but a bit too salty especially paired with the sauce provided and the BBQ sauce. Paper towel rolls are at each table which definitely came in handy since the burger was quite saucey.All in all it was pretty good. I can see myself coming back but wouldn't be getting the fries again (maybe a different one).

It has a bar feel to it. When you enter, you order at the cashier and then they assign you a table to bring out the food to. The server was really nice in explaining the different food options to me :) I ended up ordering the double bacon jam burger and the Parmesan truffle fries! It's definitely a higher quality burger so prices were higher and the portions were decent. It was good and the flavors came through. Not pictured is the salted caramel shake mini that I ordered. It is small and the texture is thicker-tasted like butterbeer ice cream. I probably wouldn't order their shake again.

Regular size of fries was basically the same as the side size of fries - seemed like a rip off. It looked like they put the regular size into a larger bowl, but it appeared to be the same amount compared to the side fries despite being over twice the price of the side fries. That was already quite disappointing, so I was even more bummed when I didn't love the parmesan truffle fries swimming in the parmesan truffle topping. I don't remember them being so excessive and overwhelming from the last time I was here, maybe my palate has changed since then? Anyways, it was so overpowering that I had to tap off the topping/seasoning every time I wanted to eat the fries. They went overboard when they didn't need to, especially with strong flavors like parmesan and truffle combined.I had the same issue with the burger, where the sauce was just so strong and in excess that it 1) overpowered the burger and 2) made the burger soggy real quick and therefore very messy to eat. Also, our burgers (Cadillac Wagyu) were quite petite in size, which was surprising for the high prices (~$17 each) that came with them. I understand that it's for the wagyu part and bougie add-ins, but I realized that Hopdoddy is not a budget-friendly burger place, even though it's fast casual dining that offers fast food. For such pricey items and paying around $60 for a meal for two, you'd want them to taste amazing or at least be decent portions.When I first visited a long time ago, I was wowed. The burgers and fries impressed me that time, both in portion and taste, so I'm a little disappointed at how things seemed to have changed since then. Service was great both times, though, so that's something I appreciate.

I remember my first visit to Hopdoddy around the time they first opened years ago. My family and I were amazed by the quality of not only the food but the service. While the service is passable nowadays the quality of the food has drastically dropped. Approximately 50% of the time I visited the restaurant in 2024 the food was good and the other 50% extremely disappointing. The last straw for me was in my final visit months ago there was a bit of plastic/rubber in my burger. I will pass on the coin flip, consequently 3 stars.To go in I always ordered just a classic with a side of fries. The burger usually is great. When the burger had problems it was usually with the tomatoes. I love tomatoes so I order extra. I am not sure why but half the time they were extremely disgusting. I had to take them off which never happens elsewhere. As for the fries half the time they felt fresh and crispy. The other half they felt a bit rough and chewy. If I am paying a premium price for food I expect a meal that reaches expectations most of the time. Other restaurants deliver a consistent experience, Hopdoddy failed to do so for me. In the end I hope they improve on whatever is occurring in the kitchen.All the best.
