The food was so yummy! I ordered the two shrimp tacos and a surf and turf plate. Personally for me I didn't really like the rice, however I did like the beans on the plate. I loved all the tacos, my favorite one out of the three I got was the fish taco. The smoked brisket one was also a very good option. The shrimp tacos was alright, it had a little too much bread in my opinion. The service was great but nothing outstanding or remarkable. Just a pretty quick transaction. The store is also pretty clean and there is a decent amount of seating inside as well as outside.

Eulogy for the now-shuttered Harbor/Adams Holé Molé. It was "merged" with Holé Smokes in the same strip mall somewhat recently. The old Holé Molé was, like its kin, a fine place for daily fast-casual beach-socal-mexi-wrap life. With an unlimited salsa bar. Then they told us Holé Molé wasn't dead, it just "moved next door" into the location of Holé Smokes. It could have been done so awesomely. BBQ tacos. Mexican BBQ. I'm not a chef, ask them what the fusion theme should have been. But whatever it could have been, it was wrong. No taco menu when I showed up on a Tuesday night, except five measly happy-hour-type options at the bottom of a BBQ-restaurant menu. No mention of Holé Molé to anyone who walked in, unless they asked, yet it seemed like everyone who walked in said they were there because they always loved Holé Molé and were there looking for that. The change from counter-serve to bar-and-BBQ means solo people who walk in for takeout have to sit at a two-up table pretending to watch sports while oldsters socialize at the bar. Also, the "merge" with Holé Smokes is a lie since the salsa bar is dead. I got two half-filled salsa containers with my five-taco order. What.

I was just inside holy moly and I ordered myself a bean plate when I found myself finding inside the plate a giant rock about 1-in across bit into it and nearly cracked my tooth, went up to the counter complained about it, they told me to keep my voice down, they told me to calm down.... I found a rock in my food!!! then when I showed them the rock they quickly took it from me and threw it away and would not give me the rock back I told him I needed to show it to the health department they said what rock I'm never coming back to this place and if the owner of this place is listening you should fire these girls that are working behind the counter they put your business in extreme risk. when i told them about this issue and said i am consideering calling the Hlth department, she answered with "call the health department then". you know as an owner each visit will cost you 1.5k or more. your employees are a huge liability. I will be contacting the health department I'm literally looking through which county I'm in right now and as soon as I do I'm reporting this place I recommend everybody to stay away from this awful establishment(edited) i have made a formal complaint with the costa mesa orange county health department about this insane incident. do yourself a favor and fire your two counter girls, they are costing you plenty of business and possibly your letter grade

Holé Molé! Wow! There's a lot of hype going into this. Mainly, because I'm a regular at their sister company Holé Smokés. Thankfully, I had all the necessary reservations to not be too excited. So here's what I'll say. I appreciate Holé Molé for serving this community with great service and greater portion sizes. Now that's been stated I've not sure if there's any compliments coming their way. To be fair, nothing was bad, my order was correct and hot. After eating my food I even went to their website to get a better understanding of their vision and their target audience. Quote "Mexican-inspired favorites, what we consider to be "Southern California Comfort Food."So how did it taste? Fish Ensenada Burrito - HUGE. There was an option for "toasted cheese". Usually that mean the cheese is crisped on the griddle and the burrito is rolled over it. That's not the experience I had. Instead a health portion of cheese was just placed on top and melted. The fish was hot but gave me frozen beer battered vibes. Nothing distinctive or singular about it. The cilantro, rice, beans, cabbage and tomato could not be elevated by their salsa or chipotle mayo.Rice & Beans - I ordered thinking I'd need them to make my burrito a meal. Can't beat the price for the portions but nothing special. I don't know if it's the lack of cumin or just a lack of herbs but it was bland. Like "white folk saying tore-til'-ah and not tortilla bland". Holé Molé, the bones of something that could be great but just a franchise with short cuts, huge portions and equitable prices for anyone who doesn't know how to cook or not looking for depths of flavor.

This hole mole joined restaurants with the Hole smokes restaurant within the same plaza. We've been coming to this Costa Mesa location for as long as I can remember, but after this, I will not be coming back to this location. First, instead of an ordering at the counter and taking your plate to your table, they have a dine-in system now, more like a sit down restaurant where they come and take your order. This is fine, as long as the food is the same but it wasn't. I always order the 2 taco plate which comes with beans, rice, chips, and 2 tacos. My favorite item on the menu, fish taco has become so minuscule i'm able to eat it in 2 bites whereas before I couldn't even hold the taco because of how large the fish was. Extremely disappointed in the quality of this place. Also, menu prices have gone up significantly. I will not be coming to this place again. I recommend going to the Huntington location.

Delicious tacos here! I especially loved the smoked brisket taco. It's so flavorful and comes from Hole Smokes BBQ across the way. Service was quick, and the dining area is spacious. Our table was kinda uneven, so we had to be careful not to lean on it or tip it over. It was a bit sticky, too. Aside from that, I highly recommend the tacos here. Definitely would come back for the smoked brisket tacos!

Went on a Monday around 6pm and there was only one person in there, but the vibe and the inside was cute! The service was good for being an order at the counter type of place. Now onto the food-- I got 3 tacos, 2 of the battered fish tacos (ensenada style: with cabbage, tomatoes, onions, cilantro and crema) and 1 shrimp taco (Cabo style: grilled shrimp, grilled onions and cilantro). The Ensenada style was my favorite, the Cabo style was good but left u desiring a little more. The 1 less star was because I ordered chips and they give u a really small amount for like $3. I did notice they have like $1.89 tacos on tuesdays which is cool! I would definitely come back!

Food - Holee wow!! Value and good too??!! We've been going to Hole Mole joint in Santa Ana for a few years now but today knocked my socks off for some reason. Had their fish taco coz so love their fish taco, but Holeeeee Moleee, their brisket taco kicked my flavor palette @$$ off for some odd reason!! It was delicious and at $2.79, probably was the deal of the century!!! It was good and surprising being that this is a Mex taco place! If I wasn't watching my sexy figure, i would have probably ordered two more!!! And the fish taco was good too!!Service - no frills order and get called on fast food jointAmbiance - again, no frills with indoor and outdoor seating and with a salsa bar.Verdict - fo sho!!! Especially try their brisket taco if you into bbq taste that throws so Mex in it!!

Unacceptable, the quality of this place has gone downhill so much that I can no longer order here. I mean five dollars for tiny dry cold chicken tacos with no toppings on It is a way to make your customers go elsewhere and that's exactly what I'll do for now on because taco Madre is right down the street and they're much better.
