Odd juxtaposition of fancy but not for a restaurant. Plastic plates to eat off of but then fabulous serving wear. Interesting design choices of fixed six seater tables with insane fish quality. All of their imported seafood from Japan was insanely delicious. Balanced flavors and generous portions of fish in every slice. Decently priced if you have self control. I have none and didn't omakase. Well worth every penny. Good service and you can get parking validated.

The ambiance is nice; each party is seated in a semi private section which is pretty cool. The staff was quite friendly and checked on us frequently. We ordered the 12pc omakase and I was very disappointed. The fish did not taste fresh and the rice was not seasoned well and kept falling apart. The rice actually ruined the nigiri for me. I appreciate them giving huge fish but bigger is not always better (that's NOT what she said). It tasted like buffet sushi which if that's your jam, this place is a "fancy" version of that. The blue fin o-toro was extremely mushy and not in a good "melt in your mouth" way. Out of the Omakase meal, the best sushi was the tuna maki roll. My husband ordered their wagyu steak and shrimp which was better than the nigiri. Steak was cooked medium rare but on the chewy side. Overall, I wouldn't come back considering the food is quite pricey for the lack of quality.

This place is the biggest hidden gem ever. If we didn't find it on yet, we would've never come across it ourselves. It's located inside the majestic hotel in Anaheim right across the street from Disneyland and it's so different from the hotel vibe. It's like a little Tokyo right in the middle of this medieval ISH hotel. The staff in the owners, the head chef were all super super sweet , that made the entire dinner amazing in itself. The omakase it was a great choice in the head. Chef definitely made sure we were satisfied with all the different option, we ended up ordering more of the Toro because it was so buttery and soft. I was so stuffed by the end of our meal, extreme food coma, but will definitely be back. They do charge for parking since in the hotel but if you ask for validation, it's free!

Sushi was good...but that was the worst service ever! The person ringing in my to-go order was upset that I didn't leave a tip and was super condescending about it. If I'm standing up and ordering to go, and waiting outside, I'm not tipping.

The atmosphere was beautiful! I loved how they have dividers between parties. The staff were all so friendly, from the host to the chefs, to our server. We received excellent service. Not only that but the food OH MY! So delicious, truly authentic Japanese cuisine. I had a spicy tuna roll & some miso soup. Very basic plate but that's what I wanted & I was impressed. My family ordered more fine plates like a steak & some shrimp tempura, to which everyone loved it. Will definitely be coming back at our next stay! The prices were also very affordable.

Wow truly a hidden treasure of a sushi restaurant, tucked away in the corner of Anaheim Majestic Garden Hotel. Entrance is inside and to the left of the front of hotel.Food: Quality and cost of sushi was fantastic. There are three options for omakase, I chose $55 for 10 pieces. The fish was expertly presented and dressed by the Japanese chef, the pieces were quite large, and most importantly, tasty. I think we even got some bonus pieces in there. For a la carte, I got a side of uni which was so fresh and sweet.Service: Amazing service from the chef and staff, who made recommendations based on what they had received fresh from Japan, as well as Sake recommendations. We were checked on frequently and taken care of well.10/10 would come again, and highly recommend to anyone in OC, not just the post-Disneyland crowd

Wow! What a treat it was to find this place. I loved the setting and the food was absolutely fantastic. Everything was so fresh and tasty. The manager, waitress, and Sushi Chefs were all top-notch! I thought the $25 parking was high, but then I was told that they validate, so that was a pleasant surprise. I have enjoyed great sushi in my years of global travel, including many visits to Japan, and this was right up there with the best. I highly recommend this restaurant and am looking forward to coming back to do this all over again.

I've been to so many high-end omakase-only Japanese restaurants, but Hanagi had the most fresh taste and the size of the fish was so big that I had never seen in other expensive Japanese restaurants. I still can't believe it was only $55 per person for the high-quality omakase I had. It's like 5 times more affordable than the restaurants I've been to. I recommend sitting at a sushi bar if you are going to get omakase or nigiri. I made a reservation and included in the notes section that I wanted to sit at the sushi bar.

Hanagi is a vibe. Once you walk in, you are warmly greeted and feel like you're transported to what I'd think Japan would look like. The tables are private and intimate. The elabarote structures built separating each table with privacy shades are beautiful. The service is excellent. Our waiter recommended Takara Plum Wine, and it has become our new favorite! Its sweet taste is refreshing over ice and paired well with our sushi rolls. The sushi rolls weren't the best I've ever had, but they were still good. The overall experience was amazing, which makes up for it.Parking was easy in the large hotel lot. Keep your parking ticket to be validated at the restaurant. The restaurant is to the left after entering the hotel lobby.

This was my first time ever eating omakase, and I was not disappointed. I would give this place an overall 4/5 stars! Hanagi is located inside a hotel near Disneyland. We had some trouble finding the restaurant, but once we did, it was so worth it! We had a private room, making it a very intimate experience. The staff were attentive and gave excellent recommendations. We ordered the chef's omakase 12-piece nigiri. My favorite was the toro--it literally melted in my mouth! The portions were generous and very filling. I kind of wish the rice and fish portion was better. I don't really like when sushi places put too much rice.. and I felt like they were heavy on their rice to fish portion here. Another downside was that we ordered two 12-piece omakase, but they initially only brought out one, which confused us. After we informed them, it took a while for the second order to come out, so one set didn't taste as fresh since we waited to eat them together. Despite that, the experience was fantastic! Hanagi is a great place to start if you've never had omakase before.
