The chive one in the right is excellent. One of the best items they have. The ha cao is very average

You need to set your expectations reasonably when you're going to a place like this for quick dim sum. It's a lot cheaper than traditional sit-down-and-order dim sum - but you definitely pay for it in terms of quality. This is an okay place if you just need to satisfy a craving, and don't have time to stop by a traditional spot. Service was prompt and friendly - there were two people in front of me on the morning of New Years Eve - so not that packed. I was able to observe how they ordered and sorta browsed the offerings. The clerk spoke English, but seemed much friendlier once I spoke my (broken) Vietnamese to her. There are two steamed food display cases, and one baked goods display case. Menu prices aren't visible - minimum $20 to use card - luckily, I had cash with me and I figured it wouldn't cost too much. I picked four items:** Hargow (Shrimp Dumplings) - the rice wrapper was harder at some spots - I ended up dropping the wrapper near the end and just ate the filling, which was decent.** Siu Mai (Pork Dumplings) - this was probably the best of the four items I picked up. Tasted the freshest, had a lot of flavor - reminded me of a wonton wrapped meatball. ** 1 of each: Banh Cuon Tom & Bo (Rice Roll with Shrimp & Beef) - the rice wrapper wasn't smooth/silky soft at all. In fact, you can tell from the photo I took that these were probably a day old at least, since the wrapper was more firm than ideal. Disappointing, since this is usually my favorite dim sum dish. At least the house soy sauce was decent. My total was $18.24 - so less than $20 for a quick dim sum fixing. There is interior seating - a few tables and chairs inside. Store is smack in the middle of one of the busier shopping plazas in the heart of Little Saigon - so you can expect this place is nightmarish to find parking during the day and on the weekends. I lucked out by coming here the morning of NYE - but would probably not venture back unless it was early in the morning.

We recently came here to try their dim sum to-go. Buy 2 ha gow/shrimp dumpling, get 1 free siu mai/pork shrimp dumpling Buy 2 siu mai/pork shrimp dumpling, get 1 free ha gow/shrimp dumplingWe ordered the deals above as well as tried their feng zhao (braised chicken feet) and sticky rice. Food was decent although we've had better elsewhere, portion sizes are on the smaller side.Prices are decent, credit cards are accepted, and there's plenty of parking

It's cheap dim sum but they don't seem to know if they have peanuts in their food or not, which is concerning for people with peanut allergies. Cash only too.

A pretty underrated spot for dim sum! It's an unsuspected food-to-go spot near the corner of Bolsa and Brookhurst, and you'll probably pass it a few times. Inside, there's around 3 small tables, and a large steam table, just like most other small bakeries and delis. The service is quite fast with the workers helping you right away and grabbing the items, whether you're togo or dining in. Personally, my favorites were the siu mai and the fried dumplings, which were filled with a good amount of meat, and had a great flavor. It wasn't the best dim sum, unlike what you'll find in the 626, but it's passable, and a good choice for a little morning pick-me-up

Giai Phat is still one of my favorite and go to Dim sum. Lines aren't too crazy also. The shu mai and har gow are my favorite dim sum there. The dough for the har gow is different from your traditional ones, but I like the texture and chewness of the har gow here. Sometimes if you get lucky, they have promotions where you buy 2 get 1 free. If you love hot chili sauce, then you came to the right place. What I do is mix their sate and siracha and some soy sauce. OMG its amazing, its definitely spicy, but the flavor is out of this world. It makes dipping the dim sum there even better!!Overall, I enjoy all the different dim sum at Giai Phat. The wonton soup is also delicious

Fast service, has the dim sum staples, and has very nice ladies that work there. HOUSE SATE IS FIRE!!! For the price, the quality of dim sum is pretty good - it doesn't get any cheaper than this around the city. Got my fave, bot chien, and it was good on its own, but after reading some of these reviews, looks like I have to go back and get it fried with eggs. Shumai is good, har gow is delicious. Also got the last portion of the fried shrimp balls around 1pm, so I'm assuming those are popular as well. The only thing I don't like about this place is their location and the amount of space in the store. My S.O. and I wanted to sit in, but it was already filled since there were only like 4 tables inside. Parking lot is a literal mission to find parking AND get to your destination safely, lmao. Other than that, if you have a craving for dim sum and don't want to spend more than you have to, this place is worth a shot.

I came here for lunch on a Thursday. It was 12:30pm. I came here looking for dimsum to satisfy my craving without costing a fortune. It's a small cafe with dimsum on display and a few tables. I don't know if it's because it's not the weekend or if I came too late but there were barely any dimsum items on display. The shrimp dumplings and xiumai looked depressing and like they've been sitting out.I ordered the sticky rice, shrimp dumpling, xiumai, pork spare ribs, and egg tart. They had to microwave my food since I will be eating in which means that it has been sitting out/not fresh. Total for all that was $15.50 which is pretty cheap. It was cash only. The food was ok, probably the worst compared to the other dimsum places I've been to. I came here wanting cheap dimsum but debating if I should give them a second chance on the weekend or not come back because I would rather pay more for something more decent.

I think this is pretty lose to the big dim sum places in the area without the sit down part. Not as good as places in SGV but good enough for OC. The Dim Sum and Crystal Dumping is better (quality and size) and it's not much more in terms of price. Overall, good but I'd pass to go to The Dim Sum or Crystal.
