YUM! Complimentary cornbread with every in store order. Food was fantastic and lots of seating. There was a minor hiccup as they ran out of a side and we weren't notified it for quite some time but they made it right with more cornbread and a different side of choice.10/10, will definitely return!

I finally got to try Georgia's Restaurant with my girlfriend , and overall, it was a fantastic meal. We ordered takeout, and most of the food hit the mark with great flavor and solid execution. She got the chicken strips with mashed potatoes, house gravy, mac & cheese, cornbread with honey butter, and lemon cake. The chicken strips were well-seasoned, crispy on the outside, and juicy inside--definitely a win. The mashed potatoes were good, especially with the house gravy, which added a nice depth of flavor. The mac & cheese was creamy, well-seasoned, and had a great texture. The cornbread was excellent--moist, flavorful, and paired perfectly with the honey butter. The lemon cake hit the spot with its moist texture.I went with the shrimp po'boy, garlic fries, and beignets, and we both got sweet tea. The beignets were one of the highlights--some of the best I've had, light, fluffy, and just the right amount of sweetness. The garlic fries were solid, with a noticeable kick of fresh garlic that made them stand out. The sweet tea needed more sugar, it wasn't as sweet as it should be.The only real downside was the shrimp po'boy. The bread was great, but the shrimp didn't hold up well. It seemed like the batter wasn't sticking, so by the time I started eating, the shrimp were mostly bare. If they had been crispier, it would have made a huge difference.Overall, Georgia's delivered on flavor and quality. If you're looking for comforting, well-seasoned food with great sides and desserts, it's definitely worth a visit. Just maybe skip the shrimp po'boy or ask for extra crispy.

Unfortunately, this place didn't live up to expectations. The menu was pretty basic with only a few soul food staples, and honestly, I can find better versions of most of the dishes elsewhere at a better price My boyfriend had the fried chicken and jams. While the chicken was fried, it didn't taste fresh, it had more of an oily flavor and just wasn't great. He ate the sides, but didn't finish the meal.We were given complimentary cornbread because we dined in, but it was tiny and didn't taste homemade, more like boxed cornbread.I had the Grilled Creole Shrimp, which was pretty bland. The shrimp and veggies had no seasoning to speak of, and the rice was just okay. I couldn't finish it because it made my stomach hurt almost immediately. We also ordered a slice of pound cake, but after waiting a while to get it, we found out the one at the counter was undercooked or something and never got the piece we paid for.The atmosphere felt too cold and modern to have any real "Southern" vibe. There wasn't even a smell of good food coming from the kitchen, which was a huge letdown.Overall, $60 down the drain for food we didn't finish and a dessert we never got. We won't be coming back and honestly, wouldn't recommend it to anyone else either. The staff was friendly.

I've been wanting to try more Southern Soul Food, and this restaurant did the job--a solid place that I would definitely return to and try more from! I am not a fan of cornbread, but theirs were surprisingly delicious and went amazing with butter. For the main dish, I got a Fried Chicken plate that came with 2 drumsticks, 1 breast, and 2 sides which I chose to be collard greens and candied yams. The fried chickens were deliciously crispy on the outside and juicy and tender on the inside; the batter was airy and tasted like corn, which was interesting. The collard greens were good although a bit salty, but that paired well with the sweet yams, which were soft and smooth. The three items were different but somehow complimented each other well. My partner got shrimp and grits. I'm familiar with rice porridge but haven't had maize porridge before; it had an interesting texture. The sauté shrimps and bell peppers were well-seasoned with lots of black peppers and herbs which I love; however, shrimps were slightly overcooked for my preference.

Staff:The team here were great. We were helped by Jada and Lisa. Both young ladies were very friendly, attentive, and made us feel very welcome. Quality/Quantity:The food here is sooooooo delicious folks. We got the spicy chicken sandwich and the Blackened Tilapia. The sandwich was huge and packed with juicy yet crunchy chicken. I opted for the spicy sauce in the side which was the right move as it has some kick. Wife grabbed the Tilapia was good as well. While we waited they brought us some of their delicious corn bread. Value:I think it was reasonable considering the quality and quantity of the food. It was about $35 for two. Overall:Big big fan of this spot. We will be back for sure.

My favorite soul food restaurant in Irvine. I ordered the smothered chicken with yams and macaroni and cheese. It was a nice surprise that it came with a small piece of cornbread. The chicken had a nice kick to it, and I loved the sweet yams. It was like a dessert in a way.Customer service was excellent and attentive. There is also outdoor seating and plenty of parking in the parking structure.

Overall, a good first visit. The service was outstanding and the atmosphere is a very comfortable fast casual set up.Highlights for the warm corn bread and butter, brought out to your table as well as red beans and rice, which I can't say I've ever had before, but I thought it was very good. The collard greens were very good as well. The fries were sort of average. Jambayala was well flavored. The bread and the shrimp on the Po Boy very generously provided but no remoulade sauce. I'm wondering what happened to it, or if even thought about putting it on. The fried chicken was rather disappointing. Two drumsticks and one small thigh must have been from a very small chicken. I liked the crunchy crispy cornbread coating, but it tasted like it had been fried alongside some catfish so it had a bit of a fishy taste. All said, I would come back but try something different next time.

One of the newer additions to the Irvine Spectrum so wanted to stop by and give it a try. The interior is new, clean and welcoming. We ordered the blackened chicken pasta, chicken and waffles, shrimp po'boy, chicken tenders, mac and cheese and piggy cheese fries. The winner was the po' boy, but perhaps that's because I do enjoy a good po'boy so I may be partial to that. The piggy cheese fries were good but was a bit greasy for our taste. The other items were good and enjoyable, but also fairly standard. After coming back from visiting New Orleans, my taste seems a bit more demanding, but this was a good meal.Service was friendly and quick. Located across from Dave and Busters at the Spectrum.

New place at the spectrum - though I believe they have a location at the packing district in Anaheim. The corn bread was really good. Slight crisp on the outside and moist on the inside. The chicken and waffles was just ok. It wasn't a fan of the breading - I prefer a bit more flaky, and it's not very salty. The waffle was fine. I hope this place does well. I was greeted by an old kind lady and it's a very nice location.

I came here on a Saturday evening with two other friends, and it was packed! We were lucky to grab a table after ordering, and outdoor seating is also available. I ordered the chicken and waffle since it seemed like a fairly safe choice. Wow, where do I even start with how flavorful this chicken was. It was so seasoned that my taste buds were shocked. It was a little bit too salty for my liking, but still incredibly delicious. The waffle itself was fairly standard and I just saw it as a vehicle for the tasty chicken, though of course it tasted great with the provided maple syrup and cream. Overall if you're not really familiar with southern food like I am, would highly recommend getting your start here at Georgia's with the chicken and waffle. They also gave a nice complimentary corn bread, which was very kind of them.
