Furai Chicken - La Habra

I discovered this place by accident and I LOVE the kang Jung chicken. Perfect mix of sweet and spicy. I highly recommend it to anyone! The only reason I don't give it 5 stars is because sometimes I go there and the business is closed when I would expect it to be open. It would be great if they could expand open business hours.

Crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. FOR REAL! We came here twice in a week after discovering it and we are not disappointed each time. But do take note that it takes a few more minutes to get the chicken to that level of crispiness. So don't come in rushing to eat and go. Place is nice and clean so get ready to sit and relax while you wait for your orders.

Recommended by a coworker, my lunch group decided to try it out. We ordered the 1/2 chicken which is more than we can eat individually. We came home with 2 pieces of chicken so 2 people can possibly share if light eaters.I had the original recipe with soy ginger dipping sauce. The chicken is cooked to order so it comes out piping hot and very crispy on the outside but juicy and tender within. The chicken definitely needs the sauce as it is not seasoned like KFC so I think it's intended to work in unison-chicken and sauce. Service is great as you order at counter and they bring it out to you when cooked. They give you a couple of slices of wedge fried potatoes as well as a daikon dish. Overall, it was a satisfying meal in a cool restaurant row strip mall. I'll be back.

My mom and I were craving chicken and decided to eat at Furai Chicken for the first time. Very impressed with the tastiness of the chicken here!We ordered the half of Soy Garlic Furai ($16.98) and half of Kang Jung Furai ($17.98). The Kang Jung looked spicy but it was not at all-- more on the sweet side. The crispiness and quality of the chicken were so good, and the sauce was cherry on top. Both dish were served with a couple of largely sliced potato wedges. We also ordered a side of the pickled cucumber salad ($4.99) and it was disappointingly small-- I'd skip this. There were outdoor and indoor seats available. Lots of parking on a Sunday afternoon. The server was nice. However, the downside was that we were the only ones in the restaurant but food didn't come out for at least 20 minutes. Overall, this is the spot if you're craving chicken, but just beware of wait times. Would come back to try out other chicken flavors for sure!

I ordered 20 wings for takeout the first time, and my husband and I absolutely loved them! We usually go to Pelicana and BBQ Chicken, but Furai Chicken really impressed us with their crispy texture and flavorful sauces. On my second visit, my friend and I dined in and tried wings with a different sauce and a chicken sandwich. Everything was so delicious, we finished it all! This is now my top choice for Korean chicken :)

I have noticed this KFC joint at a few locations and when I stumbled upon this plaza, I finally decided to try it out. The space is super clean with boho vibes, which makes this place quite insta-worthy. But onto the food, which was not as amazing as I'd hope.We ordered the half size of Kang Jung Furai Chicken ($17.98) and 2 Chicken Skewers ($4.99 each). The skewers were quite large, which makes sense why they're $5 each. You get 3 chunks of chicken and two potato wedge chunks. It comes with your choice of sauce, which I opted for the Sweet and Spicy. Between the sweet and spicy and the Kang Jung sauce, I didn't see much difference really. When we got our half order of chicken, the plate is pretty big. While the meal was still satisfactory, it wasn't the best Korean fried chicken I've had. The chicken was a bit dry, so you definitely needed the sauce. It also wasn't very crispy, especially with the sauce soaking it all up. Some of the chicken pieces seemed to have mostly batter than chicken too. Next time I'll stick to Bonchon or BBQ Chicken, though nice to try.

My friend and I ordered the potato salad, garlic green onion whole chicken and the Oyako Sando. The place was small and cute. The worker that rang us up was also really nice and there were free gummies that you could get. The chicken was really garlicky and the sauce was coated evenly. It was just too much green onion on top.The Sando was delicious!!! The glaze on the chicken perfectly hit the spot. The egg and coleslaw paired very well with the chicken. The potato salad was the disappointing part of the meal. It was too peppery and for 4.99 not worth. Overall they are a safe bet if you are craving some chicken.

- chicken was v flavorful & crispy and the side sauces r also super good!- tteokbokki was v unique, a little more like a glaze than a soupy sauce and kinda chewy but i liked that- sides are a little small for the price point- very helpful and fast service!- may or may not be busy, personally went on a sunday night in the summer and was the only party there

I've lived in La Habra now for almost a year and I must say, I'm quite disappointed. Disappointed at myself for not finding Furai sooner! Wtheck, man! I pass by this shop almost every day coming from work and not once have I stopped by.The lady who works here, God Bless her kind heart, was so welcoming and let us know her favorites to choose from.The Kang Jang chicken and lemon garlic, was juicy, crunchy, and dripping in sauce. That's all the things I look for in fried chicken.The dirty potato's? Yeah make them dirtier because they were delicious!

Been coming here for years and realized I need to write a review because of how great this spot is. The Soy Garlic Whole Chicken/Half Chicken has the perfect crisp and amount of sauce that makes it so flavorful. In my experience, takeout food is never as good as eating it fresh in the restaurant, but somehow this tastes exactly the same and is still crispy - we only eat takeout because we like to add rice at home. Service is great and everyone is always friendly.
