Everything about the Finca burger is awesome. The beef is thick and juicy. It's a really beefy tasting burger. The tomato is ripe and delicious . And the bun is correct. It has the right crust to absorb the juices. Anything else would give you a mushy mess. And the almond wood smokiness really stands out. TOP NOTCH BURGER.The wedge salad we ordered chopped and tossed. Everything tasty and fresh. An amazing salad.I'll definitely come back. Great job Finca !

The restaurant has a nice ambiance and some good items on the menu, however, there are some things that fell short. First, it's important to note that if you have young children with you, this is NOT the place to come. We had my son with us and they had no high chairs available at all. I haven't come across this issue in other restaurants and was a bit surprised by this. The majority of other diners around us had small children as well who could've all benefited from a high chair. The options for young children are also limited and very overpriced (the options are basically just a burger or a grilled cheese and no side). While I don't think they need an extensive kids menu, I felt the price should have been a little more reasonable or at least included a side. If you do not have young children this may be a bit of a better restaurant but I felt that for the price it left a bit to be desired. While my burger was absolutely delicious (the Three Stars), my husband's bison burger was not nearly as good which is a shame for a burger that is $30 and merely comes with a pickle on the side. If a burger is going to cost $30 on its own it should be an amazing burger. The service was fine. Nothing I'd go out of my way to rave about or complain about in that area. My suggestion to the manager or owner is to get some high chairs as this is a safety issue and increases liability (choking risk goes up and it's also a fall risk). We will not be returning because of this and I'm certain this will be a deterring factor for other families. With this new extension of Los Rios, it has attracted many young families and this is a big bulk of business to not accommodate to and to ultimately lose.

Went to Finca for lunch. The service was great, and the food was good. You could tell it was fresh (farm to table), as was the Hibiscus cocktail ($16), which we ordered without the added sugar syrup to make it less sweet. However, the Three Star Burger was not great. It was greasy and flavorless- no seasoning on the meat itself. We had to ask for salt to make it eatable. The burger was $24, and does not come with anything other than a pickle. We also ordered the Wedge salad. Again, good not great for $18. Some little things...the chairs in the patio are comfy but very high. I looked like Lily Tonkin in a too big for me chair. Also, half of the plates came out with chips in them. Not a big deal, just things we noticed. I would probably only go back for the vegetable apps and drinks. Pricey for what you get.

There's a new spot in town, Finca, tucked into a shiny new plaza with a patio that whispers promises of good times and warm conversations around fire pits. My wife and I decided to give it a shot, lured by the aesthetic charm and the confident claim of a wood-fired kitchen. We were seated outside by a hostess with a personality as warm as the fire pits--things were looking up. This could be fun, I thought. But then, we opened the menu.Confusion set in. They're singing the praises of their wood-fired prowess, but the menu? Five burgers, a plate of ribs, and a skirt steak--prices that suggest they believe they're the best in town. Flip it over, and you've got three salads and what feels like an afterthought of grilled vegetables. Half the menu is sides. Where's the soul? Where's the creativity?I went for the half-pound burger--$22, a la carte--and added fries for another $12. Yep, $34 for burger and fries. My wife, seduced by the promise of "tri-colored greens," ended up with a cabbage-heavy salad so light on dressing it could've been mistaken for a dry run. Add chicken, and she's staring down the barrel of another $30 plate. Then came the wine. The list was full of foreign names, which isn't a problem--we know our varietals and regions. But when you ask your server for guidance and get a blank stare in return, you know you're on your own.The Tempranillo was earthy and balanced--no complaints there. But the Cab Franc my wife ordered? Green, peppery, thin. This was no Cab Franc. Maybe a young Merlot. Maybe something else entirely. When we questioned the server, he doubled down, insisting it was a Cab Franc without so much as a second look. I even gave him an out--maybe it was a mix-up, no big deal. But nope, he stuck to his guns.At this point, we were done. The wine was wrong, the food was overpriced, and the vibe had gone from promising to painful. And to cap it off, we sat there for 15 minutes after finishing, waiting for the server to bring us the check while he avoided us like the plague. In the end, here's the truth: Finca is a case of style over substance. A patio can only carry you so far when the menu is uninspired, the service is indifferent, and the prices are laughably out of step with reality. I'll throw the hostess a bonus star for the charm, but the rest? A hard, unforgiving one-star experience.

This was our first visit to the River Street Marketplace so also the first restaurant we tried there. The hostess was very attentive and got us seated quickly for a busy Saturday afternoon. We got a great table outside along the fire pit so it was a beautiful ambiance. We arrived between lunch and dinner so were given the dinner menu, but several of the entrees are only served after 4:30 so we were stuck with burgers and sides. We ordered the Finca burger and Weiser Farm new potatoes. The burger was tasty, but the potatoes were definitely the highlight. The one downside is that the place is very pricey for what you get. A burger and fries here will cost you at least $33 and easily $40. I've had some of the best burgers in the country for far less and that were far better. Maybe the entrees after 4:30 are worth it, but don't come for the burgers.

I think they are definitely working out some kinks at this restaurant. It's so new.The waiters were also friendly really trying to make things go right . I will tell you bison burgers are delicious. Best burger, ever, really so good. I tried to like the wine list, but I just couldn't find anything on there. That was right from my pallet even though I did sample three. My salad was OK but way too much radicchio so bitter. The restaurant itself is a little tiny, but they have an extremely large patio, which was lovely to sit and watch all the activity on the lawn.

We had the pleasure of eating at FINCA on Sunday and had a Fantastic server (Lexi) who was very knowledgeable of the menu, we ordered delicious and unique food options, and had a pleasant experience with how accommodating the restaurant was to allergies. The Weiser farm new potatoes are my new obsession i loved the curry flavors and the portions on the "Farmer" menu were excellent we ordered a protein on the side and had a super nice time! Id say the carrots were interestingly cooked - some were very charted and others a little underdone but it was still great flavor! The restaurant is small inside but has a good patio for sunny days/ Warm nights. Definitely will be back!

My wife and I were HUGE fans of Chef David Pratt's former restaurant Brick in San Clemente and were sad to see it go. We've been waiting to try his new Mexican inspired restaurant called Finca in the newly opened River Street Marketplace in San Juan Capistrano. We've never been to River Street before and decided to go check it out on a Saturday afternoon around 4:00.Wow is this place cool....and very busy. Whoever the developer hired to design and plan the layout and architecture of the marketplace deserves a bonus. They nailed it. Although some of the stores haven't opened yet, it was still packed with people and tons of young kids. They had a 3 person musical group belting out some old school tunes and literally dozens of kids playing in the common space that includes a grass lawn area with plenty of outdoor seating. We tried to get into Finca but it was super busy and we didn't have the time this night to sit and enjoy an early dinner. I did stroll through though and found the restaurant to be very comfortable with an excellent vibe. Next time we go back, I'll ask to be seated on the large outdoor patio overlooking the common area. The menu is innovative and extensive. And by the way, if you enjoy top notch tequila and mescal, this place should be on the top of your "to go" list.I peeked at some of the food that was coming out of the kitchen and it looked absolutely delicious. Chef David and his team cook over open flames and the smell of burning hardwood is in the air. Cooking highly elevated dishes using this cooking method requires a bunch of talent as well as a tolerance for heat. I even saw custom made pans with holes in them that sit directly on the flames/embers.This is the first time I have ever reviewed a restaurant that I haven't eaten at yet but wanted to share my initial thoughts and some pictures. I am looking forward to going back to work my way through the menu.

Located in the new River street Marketplace. We had to wait about 15 minutes but no problem. Great service from Sammy. Delicious Caesar Salad for me and my husband had the Tri tip sandwich and we shared fries. All very good! I just wish they had a veggie sandwich on the menu. I don't eat meat and this is definitely a meaty place. I did enjoy the salad.
