Came here in a group of 5 mainly to do catfish spring rolls. we got 1 medium catfish and some other entrees to share. the medium was definitely enough for 3-4 spring rolls per person!don't recommend: - basil clams (they were stinky but it might have just been this day) - beef vermicelli (just standard)recommend:- catfish- salt and pepper squidThe ambiance was very nice and modern, and the prices were reasonable. I'd definitely host more groups here when we're feeling catfish to try other things on the menu!

We celebrated Lunar New Year with a delicious meal from Favori last Saturday afternoon. We ordered the holiday combo for $210, for our party of 9. The combo included 8 egg rolls, rare beef salad with lime sauce, fried rice, a large crispy baked catfish, vermicelli noodles, herbs, a large seafood and banana blossom hot pot, and banana split for dessert. The dishes were good and plenty for all of us. Our tummies were full and content. We ordered beer and other refreshments to enjoy with the meal. Service was decent and they seemed to be understaffed that day. There are plenty of tables and seating throughout the restaurant with a private dining area for a more intimate dinner. Atmosphere is casual, cute decor, and modern.

This Vietnamese restaurant has been around for over 20 years. Their original location was in Santa Ana, but I'm stoked they made the move to their current location. It's way more spacious and clean, you know, no more cramming in like sardines. The staff is super friendly. They've got a menu that's longer than a CVS receipt, so you know you'll find something you like. We went for their specialty, the fried fish, and let me tell you, it's off the chain. It's baked to perfection, the skin is crunchy, it's like a party in your mouth. The only bummer is they don't give you enough variety of herbs and veggies. We hope they see this review and provide more veggies and herbs. See pictures for menu and food.Yes I recommend this restaurant!Happy Eating

Have been eating at the Favorite location on First Street since the 80's . It was a treat then and now it's even better with the larger , brighter ambiance at the new location . Food is still great and service excellent. The roasted fish is still their specialty. Although , I do enjoy the fried intestines very much .

So so delicious! This restaurant is known for their crispy baked catfish, or cá nướng mỡ hành. It's one of my favorite Vietnamese dishes of all time and I was excited to try theirs! We ordered three of their smaller catfishes for a table of 9 people. We also got their egg rolls and gỏi bò tái chanh (rare beef salad with lime sauce) for the table. They're known for these dishes too! Altogether this was plenty of food for 9 people and we took home some catfish for leftovers. The catfish was so crispy and flavorful!! There was plenty of meat in the fish and it was juicy and delicious. If you're new to Vietnamese baked catfish, the way we eat it is that it's a whole catfish and you scoop some fish onto a spring rolls wrapper and roll it up with lettuce and other herbs, as well as rice vermicelli noodles. Then you dip in one of their 3 sauces (they give you all three!) to enjoy! Highly recommend as this was sooo good! The egg rolls were also very flavorful and crunchy! I liked that they were cut in half and served with lettuce and fish sauce. They were the perfect appetizer. The rare beef salad was also really good and it actually wasn't very rare at all! (Which I appreciated). The dressing was also slightly tart and balanced with sweetness. It completed the meal really well!Overall this spot has a nice upscale ambience and delicious food! I would recommend it especially for special occasions and gatherings but it could be a good place for a casual meal if you wanted. Just note that the catfish is baked to order so you should order it immediately when you sit down and expect to wait about 25-30 minutes for them to cook it. It's totally worth it!

Just want to say that I would give a 5 if i don't have to wait for 20mins each time i requested something (waters, bowls, to go boxes, and check). This is the new location and it's packed on Sunday from 5-7pm. But it's not long to get into, we ordered their famous crispy fish in advance so once we got the table and within 10mins the fish came out. We ordered 2 more dishes and a dessert. All of our dishes are tasty and delish. The servers are nice, quick on order but somehow forgetful on the requesting stuffs. The decors are very elegant and tasteful. Very "Favorite" from my opinion. Will come back for more for sure.

I recently visited Favori Restaurant for a family birthday celebration and it was a fantastic experience. Their warm hospitality made us feel right at home while showcasing the bold, authentic Vietnamese flavors we love.We got the medium Baked Whole Catfish (Cá Nướng Mỡ Hành). The fish was perfectly cooked with crispy skin and tender, juicy meat. The catfish is made Vietnamese-style, topped with scallion oil, and my favorite way to eat catfish. I wrapped this in rice paper with fresh lettuce and herbs and dipped this in delicious spicy fish sauce.Since we had a table of 6, we also got the 5 Courses of Beef (Bò 5 Món) to share. In this course, we were served ground beef with crunchy chips, shaken beef, beef in vinegar hot pot, beef sausage, and Betel Leaf Wrapped Beef (Bò Cuốn Lá Lốt). All very delicious! This is usually a traditional preparation of 5 Courses of Beef and my family's favorite, too, since its so much variety for such an affordable price. We were celebrating a birthday and I brought a cake, and the staff were so accommodating! We arrived earlier and had to wait 30+ minutes and they took the cake to put in the kitchen before we sat down. When it was time to sing, they were so kind, ensuring everything was set up perfectly and even helping us with plates, utensils, and a lighter. Their hospitality added to the warm, family-friendly atmosphere. Overall, my family and I had a great time. If you're looking for a great Vietnamese restaurant with delicious food and wonderful staff, plus, a venue for a birthday celebration, Favori will take care of you!

Our group of 12 had reservation on Friday night at 5:30pm and were seated right away. We had been to the SA location a number of times and we are familiar with their food. This location is bigger and in the nicer area with more parking on the side. Inside the restaurant is bright and clean with more seats. We ordered the combo (good for 6 people) which included the roasted fish and a few other dishes such as egg rolls, beef salad, soup, fried rice and a dessert to complete the meal. Will definitely come back to this new location.
