My husband and I have gone to Eller for breakfast so many times. They are organic and have excellent choices for breakfast. Many pastries. Specialty drinks. they ground their own coffee and sell it by the bag which we bought. Excellent! The bread is made with their flour that they ground on equipment shown in the place. The bakery is on the premises and you can see bakers creating special pastries. The pastries aren't too sweet at tall and so flavorful.I don't suggest dinner. Not a meal you'd be used to. We both had the pasta and it was unlike any pasta we ever had in not a good way. I'm Italian New Yorker who had been to Italy and I can honestly say this homemade pasta was California pasta. Me no like. For breakfast we highly recommend you try it at least once. But I guarantee you'll be back many times there after!

We visited Eller Bakery on a rainy Thursday around 11:30 AM, only to find they were already out of the sourdough cinnamon rolls (bestseller), sourdough kanelbullar, and many of their sourdough pastries. It's surprising that their bread doesn't seem too popular, considering the bakery is known for its sourdough creations.Honestly, my first impression of this place was not great. It has that Newport Beach vibe, but in a more exclusive, elitist, hipster way--probably because it's in Costa Mesa. There's a clear upcharge on everything due to the branding and the clients they want to attract, but to be honest, the food didn't even look that appealing. The space feels more like a rising influencer spot rather than a cozy bakery. The picture-perfect environment gives it a somewhat sanitized, impersonal feel.Despite my impression, it was busy for lunch. The interior of the bakery is elevated--Scandinavian-inspired with sleek wooden counters, minimalist tables, and a clean aesthetic. Open concept and a long coffee bar. However, despite the spacious display, there wasn't much to choose from. Ordering was a bit odd; instead of ordering at a cashier, a staff member took our order on a phone. With limited options available, we ended up settling for an $8 sourdough chocolate chip cookie. The sourdough flavor was distinct and unique, and while it was a good cookie, the price felt excessive. If I were to recommend anything, it would be the cinnamon roll--many people seem to rave about it. Also, not much parking available in the front.

First visit 2/17, we got here by accident while looking for Wilson (2 doors down) and decided to give this place a try. Didn't have much expectation but still greatly disappointed. SO got the banana bread latte, and I the Vermont maple latte. Both were mid. Ordered a coffee cake and a sourdough croissant, received coffee cake and sourdough chocolate croissant instead. The girl who took our order was nowhere to be found - she took our order off of the line, we didn't get to the counter. Coffee cake was ok. The croissant was gross. It was dense and chewy with lumpy chocolate. 2/18 went to Wilson to get coffee. In all of my stupidity, I wanted to give this place (and the croissant) another try. Made sure it's the regular croissant this time. $6.75 mistake. It was slightly flakier than the chocolate one, but still so dense and chewy. I guess I just don't understand what the hype is about this place. The airy, bright interior does not compensate for the overpriced and mediocre products. And don't get me started about the service, but perhaps enough hate for one day.

The ambiance for this bakery is incredible for Costa Mesa. Parking out front limited, but worth it. As you step inside, you are treated to a long granite coffee bar that is begging for some company. The dining tables are in the center with the massive bakery behind the food display. I can understand why the long area since as we left, a line formed to the entrance. The baked goods are uniformly displayed and all look appetizing. The looks do not disappoint as the sourdough everything are tasty and made just right. We got the baguette, croissant and the sourdough cinnamon roll. Can't wait to have a chance to sit on their back patio.

Food: 8/10Service: 9/10Ambiance: 10/10I got their omelette and cinammon roll bread with a capuccino. I'd say their breakfast is above average and their cinammon roll is an interesting experience because most of their breads are based off of sourdough! I personally liked it! The service was fast and efficient. The place is BEAUTIFUL. Would come again :)

Overall, the food was decent but a little pricey. I can tell they serve quality ingredients so I don't mind the price. I just wish the food was served hot. It felt like it was room temperature by the time I started eating. I ordered the 2 eggs breakfast and got it with poached eggs and chicken sausage. The bread was very hard so I had to be careful to not scratch my mouth. I got the banana bread latte with half sweetness. It was the perfect amount of foam but the espresso was a little sour. I also got the pumpkin sour bread cinnamon roll. I thought it was okay. I wished I got the regular but they were sold out already. The ambiance was very aesthetic and open. I love how you can see inside the kitchen when ordering.

Eller bakery caught my attention based on how aesthetic the whole bakery is. I loved the open concept and seeing the baked goods being made fresh! They had an abundance of desserts to savory baked items that all looked appetizing, it honestly took my friend and I a good minute to decide on what to try. Service was friendly and willing to help as we looked confused on what to order! Most of the goods have some sort of sourdough incorporated into it. I tried the sourdough croissant which was flakey, buttery and had notes of sourdough onto it. I also tried the sourdough cookie which was not too sweet but had a slightly different texture than your ordinary cookie. We both decided to get lattes, and was told they actually have their own special oat milk. I personally was not really a fan of the latte, as the oat milk flavor was strong and made the coffee not as strong. I do not believe they offer wifi, so this place would be more for a hangout spot! There is more parking in the back, however I can see finding parking would be difficult if the place is busy.

Great tasting food. Definitely would go back but that price is definitely on the higher end for a simple breakfast.

I love this place!!! The interior design is clean, simple, and elegant. The service was exceptional! The croissant is unlike any I've tried. The sourdough flavor is truly unique without sacrificing exterior crunch and soft center. The banana latte is wonderful. Very natural flavor and not too sweet. We also tried the traditional baguette. It was great!Lastly, the BACON slice was amazing. Thick and full of flavor!I will definitely go back and try more items.
