First timer . The place is very small. No air circulation. The waitresses were not that friendly. The food took about 35 min to come out. It was really good tho. I'd probably eat there again but this time I'll place an order to go.

Who doesn't love some authentic Salvadorian food? You'll definitely get it her at El Salvador Cafe. The pupusas are freshly made, flavorful, and not greasy at all like some other restaurants. My favorite to get are revueltas (chicharrón, beans, & cheese mixed together) and Queso with Loroco (Salvadorian cheese & Loroco flower buds) They didn't take too long to make and they were brought out nice and hot. I also got an agua de ensalada and Salvadorian horchata. The horchata could use more morro, but it wasn't bad. Now the agua de ensalada was my favorite because it was so refreshing, sweet, and It comes with a lot of fruit compared to other Salvadorian restaurants. I also tried their platanos fritos (fried plantains) with queso (cheese), beans, crema (cream), and pan (bolillo type bread) and it was delicious. And couldn't leave without trying their chicken tamales since I'm used to only Mexican tamales (I'm half Mexican from my mom's side and half Salvadorian from my dad's side) They taste different from the ones I used to have at my Salvadorian grandma's house and I think it's because these don't have olives, which is ok with me ( I don't like olives). They only have chicken, potatoes, & bell peppers wrapped in a banana leaf. They were unique and so flavorful. I'm for sure going back for these next time. Also don't confuse this restaurant with the Salvadorian restaurant two doors down. I know....it's strange and a bit confusing on why they would be so close to each other lol. But the other one doesn't accept cards, only cash. El Salvador Cafe accepts cards and cash for payment and the staff is super friendly. Definitely check them out and try it for yourself and see what I'm talking about!

The food here is so amazing and the best authentic Salvadoran food I've ever had. We ordered aguas the ensalada agua is a must and any tamarindo lovers are gonna be a huge fan of their water. The pupusas melt in your mouth of course we had to try the revueltas which was our favorite! The queso and queso and jalapeño, and the espinacas were all so good. The tamal as you can tell from the picture looked so good we had to try it right away and it was by far our overall favorite definitely have to get this! Lastly, the platanos fritos with frijoles, queso and crema were an amazing add on and a perfect combo. Will definitely be coming back and telling everyone I know about this restaurant! The service was amazing, it's a family owned business and the family vibe they set in here is great they make sure to make you feel very welcome and taken care of!

The food is delicious, the service not so great. I called in an order, I had to find an ATM because they only accept cash, came back, paid for my order and ate it. About an hr later a person calls and rudely tells me that I haven't picked up my food. I tried to explain but she wouldn't listen. She finally said, we'll sell your food then

This place is a must when in Santa Ana. Authentic Salvadoran food! The pupusas are made fresh, the curtido is delicious (and I'm picky with curtido). Variety of aguas! Can't go wrong with any of their variety of dishes. Friendly staff. Love this place!!!

The popusas were mediocre, but there is a serious lack of integrity at this restaurant. They overcharged me for each popusa. When I realized and calmly asked why the popusas were more expensive, the cashier instantly responded with additude that "the prices are subject to change without notice". The "correct" prices are not posted anywhere in the restaurant. Worse, they shorted me one popusa in my to go order.

If I could get this "cafe" a 0 star I would. I never do reviews but this one was bad. Worst experience at this restaurant. Me & my family came to eat pupusas and waited for almost an hour just to not get our food which we just ended up leaving . They were attending people that came after us & all the phone call orders but us. The waitress had bad attitude , not friendly at all since the start. Not once did they say how much longer due to them taking long so we had to keep asking how much longer & they kept saying "almost". On top of that ALL the aguas frescas we got were horrible. Once 50 minutes passed we asked to just pay the aguas due to them taking too long & having bad attitude especially the blonde highlights lady. I had a little altercation due to her saying we didn't even wait almost an hour which it was & saying they had many phone orders so pretty much they prioritize phone orders instead. So Don't come here if you want good service. Lies, the "older male" did not state it was 2 hours he said one hour but whatever it was it was a long time people were leaving due to how long they were taking to bring out food. I would understand the long wait time but not ONCE did you guys come check up on us until the "older male" asked. You can't say pupusas take so much time compared to other plates just to make yourself look good, maybe you need more employees in kitchen if that's the case because I looked around & everyone else was waiting a while too looking frustrated. We clearly didn't drink the aguas frescas due them being horrible so check the cameras. He was clearly calm until the blonde lady had to comment instead of apologizing about the wait time so of course we aren't going to accept disrespect either so don't come and say we were yelling when clearly they don't have good customer service since the start and bad attitudes ! The comments in the review show it that you've had bad customer service for years.
