El Pollo Norteno-Garden Grove

The business from the outside looks small in size but has a lot of seating available. The cashier brought out my plate to my seat and kindly asked if I needed anything else. So courteous. I got the 2 piece platter that comes with two sides.I chose charro (beans) and rice as my side. The rice and beans were so good I finished it before eating my chicken ! Ugh. Plate also comes with two tortillas. I chose flour (there is also corn tortillas available). The chicken itself was sooo flavorful and wonderfully seasoned. So so so good. My only concern is the chicken was a little bit on the dry side but the seasoning was chefs kiss. Would probably come back since the platter as a whole was pretty tasty!

I accidentally stumbled upon this place during a drive home from the Hyatt conference.The outside is quite run down, and I was craving beef, but after looking at the sign I prob should have gotten the chicken.My taco was just ok. Not overly tasty. It was almost $4.Prob would get it again but if u do ever go back it would be for the chicken.

Delicious food, especially the carnitas! I usually get the family packs for big dinner gatherings. The price has definitely gone up a lot, unfortunately. I paid about $70 for the pack that serves about 8 people. It used to be about $50. Aside from prices, you get a lot of good food. The best is the carnitas, and you also get carne asada and chicken with this pack. The beans and rice are delicious, too. Service is quick and friendly. Still a great place!

The food has no seasoning /flavor other than charcoal. The food was unnaturally colored to look marinated but it had NO flavoring whatsoever. Pasta salads had way too much mayo and tasted nothing special and the beans tasted like they came from a can. Will not come back or recommend at all. Over priced and just not good at all. Had high hopes for this place too. So highly disappointed.

I pass by this establishment every day on my way to work! I couldn't wait to try it and I must say I was bit disappointed. I ordered the carne nacho and my wife the two piece chicken lunch plate. My nachos were filled up with all kinds of wonderful toppings, but the meat was extremely oily and not very tasteful. Maybe this day was just a bad day, but nothing in my nachos seemed to go together. The guac was good, but it wasn't anything out of this world for me! I just wish it was put together a little better and more tasteful. My wife said her meal was good, but it was like chicken you could pretty much get anywhere. There was really no WOW for us here! Shout out to the cashier and cook though. I know its not any ones fault, it must of just been the day. You guys were great and the service was amazing. The food just wasn't it for us on this day! Thank you for having us and hopefully next time, things turn out better for us!!

The chicken here is really really good! Super juicy and love the grilled mesquite flavor! However the meal left much to be desired...Ordered the two piece chicken combo meal which came with two sides (I chose rice and potato salad). The rice was a little dry and the potato salad taste like what you would buy at Stater Bros., overall nothing special. It also came with the tortillas to make tacos with, the tortillas were dry as well. Also I ordered on Door Dash, and it had options to add toppings to your meal such as sour cream, tomatoes, cilantro, etc. I received none of those items. If these items are not suppose to come with the meal please remove these options on the app.I also ordered a Chorizo and egg breakfast burrito, which came with beans, rice, and cilantro. It was extremely salty and hard to eat. I don't think adding salt is necessary for whoever was cooking this.Overall really good tasting chicken, but everything else was a little disappointing.

Amazing service, if I can just commend on the hospitality I mean they are so friendly and welcoming! Food is great, we got a torta, carnitas quesadilla, and pollo, Al pastor and carne asada tacos. Delish. Love the rice, will def come back to try the chicken family meal. Would love to have them cater a party for us. Will def come back. Santiago and Dave were great

Pollo loco who? This place is a total upgrade! Affordable and did i mention delicious.

Absolutely the worst service ever. The girl that's there in the evening is so insanely rude welcoming me with "you're Always coming in last minute"...when the last time I came it was 7:30pm and she still told me I couldn't dine in bc they were "about to close" with 30 mins left before closing. When it clearly says open until 8pm, meaning YOU ARE SERVING FOOD UNTIL 8:00PM! I went in today 9/11/23 at 7:50pm. I was going to take my food to go and she still had the audacity to tell me they are closing at 8pm. I've been there a few times but this is the last time I ever give this restaurant a dime. Shame on the management that hired a rude and lazy person that clearly doesn't want to work.

I've lived around the corner from this place for the last 25+ years. Like most places in Santana I've watch it detroit into a just let's just profit and deminas our quality and creaditsbily......long story short $27 for one whole chicken that looks like the crackheads the hang around outside this place.......
