Egg Roll King

I had an excellent dinner here with immediate family members. Vegetable Egg Rolls were moist inside and very good. A Small Hot & Sour Soup was excellent, with the caps of Button Mushroom bobbing on top, tofu, egg, and broth that had the perfect blend of sweet and sour notes. Fried Pork Dumplings were small but nicely constructed and very good in taste dipped in Plum Sauce, Sweet & Sour Sauce, and Hot Chili Oil.While others at my table split a Large Won Ton Soup and enjoyed extensive Mu Chu Chicken Wraps and House Special Chicken with Broccoli, Diane addressed her well-constructed and sweet Honey Walnut Shrimp, and I concentrated my attention on Shrimp in Lobster Sauce and Kung Pao Three Flavors (Beef, Chicken and Shrimp). Everything was tasty and washed down with Hot Tea. We had a veritable Chinese feast.Service was attentive and responsive, and our reserved table for six in front of the aquarium was quite comfortable. This was probably our best experience here!

I had a craving for Chinese food and decided to give this spot a try based on the positive reviews, but unfortunately, it didn't quite meet my expectations. I ordered the veggie chow mein with shrimp, but the shrimp tasted overcooked and lacked flavor. The orange chicken was disappointing soggy instead of the crispy, flavorful version I've had at other places.On the plus side, the fried rice was decent, and the broccoli beef was actually pretty good. The real standout was the cream cheese wontons--absolutely amazing! That's what earned this place a 2 -star rating from me.Service-wise, the staff was very friendly, but the wait for a to-go order was about 32 minutes, so definitely call ahead. Also, this isn't one of those spots where you see the food and pick what you want. There's no digital menu, and the physical menu doesn't have pictures, which makes ordering a little less convenient.Overall, not the worst experience, but I don't think I'd go out of my way to return.

It's almost 8p and my go-to for Chinese was already closed. I frequent Yelp so naturally I searched for the best reviewed local Chinese food and decided to give Egg Roll King a shot. The reviews and pictures looked too good not to. I tried to call in an order, but no one answered the phone on my multiple dials. My bestie and I decided to take a drive to order in person.Egg Roll King is in the Stater Bros shopping center & to the right of Golden Spoon. There is plenty of parking for such a small establishment. Just a few tables inside and loved the nice saltwater tank by the register. A nice gentleman took our order and was appreciative when I left a tip on the receipt. It was a 20 minute wait for takeout which was great!We get home and start mowing down the Orange Chicken, House Special Chow Mein, Honey Walnut Shrimp and 2 egg rolls. Right away, I knew it wasn't a meal I could enjoy. The orange chicken had the flavor, but the meat was indescribable. It was like eating cardboard. The shrimp wasn't edible either. And finally, the egg roll. It had a crispy outer shell which was great, but the inside was all soggy & gooey. I'm not usually one to throw food out bc I hate being wasteful. I couldn't do it. Not to mention the runs immediately afterwards. Yelpers, I'm so sorry but you've definitely got this one wrong. I can confidently say this was my first let down from you. I definitely don't understand the high ratings you give this place. Five stars for service, but one star for the food.

Amazing Food & Amazing Service!! I stopped by the new Shake Shack, but it was so packed, so we decided to explore other nearby options and stumbled upon Egg Roll King that is in the same parking lot. I've been on the hunt for a good Chinese restaurant since moving to Huntington Beach, and as soon as I saw the classic Chinese Zodiac placemats, I knew we were in for something special!Egg Roll King did not disappoint. The food was incredible, and as a family of six, we were thrilled with how affordable everything was. We ordered Mu-Shu Pork, Orange Peel Chicken, Veggie Chow Mein, and Mongolian Beef, and each dish was perfection. I wouldn't change a single thing.Having eaten at some top-tier places in LA, I can confidently say that Egg Roll King has earned a spot in my top 5 Chinese restaurants of all time. This place is a hidden gem, and I'll definitely be back!

This place is the best around. Any time we want take-out or to sit down for a great plate of chinese food, this is the only place to go. Service is very quick and very friendly, almost always the same very kind guy working here. Food-wise, pretty much everything is a hit. The house special chicken or beef, the orange chicken, the cashew chicken.. honey walnut anything. Fried rice, chow mein house special... all if it is awesome.Simple decor inside, not a lot of seats. Food takes a few minutes because it's prepared fresh but I prefer it that way. Can't ask for more.. this place is an absolute local gem.

love this place. staff super friendly and the food is delish. i've ordered the green beans and chicken and it's a good size portion. the dinner comes with rice. will be back.

My partner just finished his haircut, and we decided to grab a bite before we worked out. This spot is a couple stores down, so we wanted to try it.Parking: They're located in a plaza with plenty of free parking. Easy to find.Ambiance/Environment: Walking in, we were not greeted. We seated ourselves at an open table. It's a small restaurant, so seating is limited. Very clean and looks new. We also noticed there were a lot of older caucasian customers, and we were the only Asians lol.Service: Our servers took care of us. The server that took our order is efficient. The cooks were also quick and efficient. We received our dishes within 10 minutes. The other server that delivered our dishes was kind.Food: The portions are shareable! Each dish on their menu is large!1) Kung Pao Chicken - My partner ordered this, and we shared it. This dish came with a choice of white or brown rice. He chose brown rice. We enjoyed this dish! We adjusted it to make it a bit more spicy. The chicken was cooked well and coated with a good amount of kung pao sauce. It wasn't too salty. The vegetables made it even more tastier.2) Honey Walnut Shrimp - I ordered this dish, and of course we both shared it. This also came with a choice of white or brown rice. I chose brown rice. The shrimp was pretty big, cooked well, and coated evenly. I looove the sauce! It was creamy, not too sweet, and had a strong lemon taste.Pricing: I'd say it's definitely worth its price. Portions are generous. If you don't finish, now you have food for the next day. They also offer lunch specials. If you don't want to dine, you can mobile order and pick up.

We had the Chicken Egg Rolls, Vegetable Egg Rolls, House Special Chicken plate and The Kung Pao Three Flavor plate (chicken, beef, shrimp). The rolls were crispy, flavorful and not greasy. The Chicken Egg Roll was our favorite. The plate dishes were fantastic!The service was attentive and professional. Our hot tea and lemonade were kept full and we were offered appetizers promptly.The dining area was clean and orderly and there is a beautiful aquarium to add to the ambiance.

Everyone who works here is so kind and goes above and beyond for their customers. All of the vegetarian dishes I've tried have been amazing too!

Egg roll king gets a 3 again! Ordered house special chicken extra spicy, orange peel chicken, and egg fried rice. (Also came with white rice) The house chicken was so saucy and spicy! I would order again! Unfortunately, the orange chicken just wasn't my favorite. I was hoping for more flavor and crunch. The fried rice was also bland. 5/4/2024
