Stopped in for dinner! It was a nice surprise. The food servings were huge and tasted good. Nothing extraordinary but good. The service was amazing. Very friendly staff and the ambiance was welcoming. We would definitely come back.

Service was good and our waitress was very sweet. I have never been to any Mexican restaurant that didn't have horchata. I ordered a Michelada with non alcoholic beer and my cup came full of ice about 3 drinks of my michelada and it was gone but they never brought me the rest of the bottled beer. Very odd. Food was very bland and had no flavor. The taco was more lettuce than anything. Salsa tasted like it came from a jar. I will not be coming back here.

This place is a piece of my childhood! We have been coming here since I was young and now I'm old...so for a long time! When I visit my parents she never says no when I suggest Don Jose's!We went on a Sunday night, 5 adults and a baby. We were sat immediately when we arrived. We had plenty of chips and salsa and our dinners were good.Chile rellano, flautas, fajitas, tacos, enchiladas. The baby loved his rice, beans and chicken! In all honesty, there's lots to choose from on the menu, it's a little simple but if you do something right, don't change it. Service was good and I think the price is pretty average for dining out these days. All in all Don Jose for the win.

This place is still the best restaurant for all the food and comfortable great time. I've been coming here since I was in the womb. The chile rellenos, crunchy tacos, quesadillas, fajitas, all stellar.. dont get me started on the best chips and salsas, I can never get enough. It is very hard to find an atomosphere like here, along with such a great staff, most have been there for well over 10/20 years. I hope they survive anything in their way and last another 50 years because I will be going until my last breath.

I attended a group gathering on Saturday night at the bar section. I already had low expectations of the food, based on prior reviews.I ordered the chicken enchiladas combo, just to give them business as our group didn't order any food and not many drinks. Our server was a brunette lady, who was not thrilled to be there, but is likely burned out.

The service was good. Plenty of chips and salsa which 'pairs' perfectly with an ice cold beer. But the food was just ok. I had a shredded beef and chicken taco. The crunchy shell was a bit greasy and the meat didn't have a lot of flavor. It was also really loud in there which made it a bit irritating. Great place for a large family but not so great if you want to talk to people. I'd give it another try and get the nachos which looked amazing.

There used to be a Don Jose in Artesia that I had been going to since 2002. My favorite restaurant! Then they changed their name to Rodrigos, but it's ok because they still served my favorite dish, "Raphael's Special", then called "Rodrigo's Special". Then the day came where they permanently closed and I thought I'd be doomed to going to the Huntington Beach location where it was bland and tasteless, like, I know I'm Caucasian but this was next level blandness. But I digress, we came upon this place as a happy accident. My mom and I were craving Mexican food and I was willing to give that Huntington Beach Rodrigues a 4th? 5th? shot at making a decent flauta and suggested "Don Jose" which was the original name of my favorite place but figured she knew I meant Rodrigos. Well she typed in "Don Jose" on Apple Maps and lo and behold it took us here and thank goodness it did! Didn't know there was another Don Jose, and my mom and I both agreed the food here was immensely tastier and we now have outs new go-to spot and we're literally telling everyone about it! Ugh, I wish I could go there right now! Be sure to try the "Chef's Special" as my favorite flauta dish is called there, and get it with shredded beef instead of ground (or at least that's my personal preference..). Yum!

Best albondigas soup and chili relleno ever. Everything is delish and the servers are the best. Well poured drinks are a plus with the delicious food and casual atmosphere.
