Can't believe I haven't written a review for De Oro! This is our local go-to Mexican joint that we frequent very often. It's a favorite for folks in Brea with a good selection of food, good quality/taste, and great customer service. We had friends from Yorba Linda that would drive here for their fill of Mexican bc it was their favorite spot. My husband's go to is a California burrito wherever he goes and the California burrito here is very good. We get it with Al pastor instead of carne asada here since their Al pastor is more juicy and tender. My go to is the Mr. Garcia burrito which is a shrimp and steak wet burrito with enchilada sauce on top. I do half green and half red which gives you a little more versatility of flavor. It's such a generous portion! Some other favorites are the pozole which I loveeee to get when I want a warm, deep soup. When I'm trying to eat less carbs/calories, their carne asada plate has really hit the spot. They have a great selection of dishes from tacos to enchiladas to fajitas to quesadillas to mole. You should be able to find a dish here for anyone that enjoys Mexican food. Cherry on top is the sweetest women that work here that greet us consistently with a bright smile and wonderful attitude!

I've known about this place for a while since we live in the area. We were craving chilaquiles and decided to try it out for the first time. Upon entering, we were greeted by the host and shown to our table. Overall, our experience was okay. I noticed one of the workers, who seemed to be the owner, walking around to each table, inquiring about the service and checking on other guests' experiences. We ordered two dishes, both chilaquiles--one green and one red. I specifically ensured that both were vegetarian since we do not eat meat. The waitress confirmed this. However, about halfway through our meal, we discovered pieces of meat in our food. This was extremely upsetting, and we informed the waitress. Her response was simply, "I am sorry about that," and then she proceeded to hand us the credit card machine. Additionally, no one came to our table to ask about our experience, which left me disappointed. The horchata also tasted watered down compared to what I am used to. While I believe this place has potential, I may need to visit again to fully assess my first impression.

Visited the restaurant around 7:30 on Monday and was seated immediately. The staff is so friendly and welcoming! The menu is what drew me to this restaurant, and I so badly wanted to love the food, but the asada burrito I ordered had so much fat in the meat that barely any of it was edible. I felt like any bite I took was just squishy. We also ordered a torta and taquitos, those also were okay. Hopefully this was just a fluke! I'll most likely give it another try and the staff really drew me in and I loved the causal atmosphere.

Just went there last night with a beautiful girl and a good friend. They are located on Kraemer Ave in Brea, somewhat close to Placentia. We ordered two dishes. I got three tacos with rice and beans, and she got something called the Caldo de Res which is sorta like a beef stew in soup with lots of veggies and assorted things like celery, squash, zucchini, and cabbage. She really loved the soup, and I enjoyed my soft tacos. I got one with chicken, beef, and shrimp. They were quite filling and tasty. It stayed until closing, eating and talking, then got to watch the Canelo fight for free :) Overall, a great evening and good food. Our waitress was very nice and attentive and my friend and her spoke a lot of Spanish for my humor, of course !A good night!

My choice for Mexican food when I'm anywhere near the Brea Mall. There is huge array of solid Mexican food choices. I've enjoyed their Pozole, burritos and tortas. On the weekends they are short staffed at breakfast till the afternoon.

I was visiting a friend in Brea, and she recommended De Oro La Puerta, a small hole-in-the-wall in a small shopping center. I have been to this plaza before but have yet to notice this spot. They have plenty of indoor seating, significant portions, and some tasty food. You start off the dining experience with some warm chips and spicy salsa. I paired my meal with a cold Pacifico too! I got the El Trio Taco plate, two carne asada, and one El Pastor Taco for my entree. The El Pastor was great, but the carne asada tasted old and dry. I enjoyed the refried beans and rice too. I recommend the enchilada; I took a bite and loved it!The major con of this spot was that the service was soo slow! You can also see other tables getting restless for their food. We were also hurrying to get to the Angels game and felt like we were waiting forever. They were understaffed, but unfortunately, the service took a bit too long for my liking.

Unfortunately I ended up getting food poison from having the taquito plate. Service was great, food was ok. But sadly I would be afraid to go back. I'm sure it was the food because I threw up my entire plate several hours afterwards.

Got takeout from De Oro La Puerta and loved it! I was a little skeptical as Brea doesn't have the best Mexican food spots but this hit the spot! Here is a breakdown of the dishes we got. Tacos: we got carne asada and Al pastor. Both were very delicious. They are topped with cilantro, onion, and red salsa. They also come with a handmade tortilla which was very nice!Chicken Taquitos: the taquitos were my favorite part of the dinner! The taquitos are rolled with their handmade tortillas and were filled with flavorful chicken. Chips, rice, beans: these were solid accompaniments to the meal. We loved the fresh chips! Overall, highly recommend this spot if you're in the brea area. I think it's the best around town.

Stumbled onto this place by mistake because I went to drop off my cleaners next-door and I was hungry. I decided to walk in and I was sat down at the table and I looked to the tables beside me and the food looked like it was authentic and delicious so I tried sampling several things and everything to my amazement was delicious. The service was great restaurant is clean great parking no need to go to the big places. This one is a small little restaurant, but huge on satisfaction! There is also a little bar inside if you wanna have some cocktails and appetizers I highly recommend you try it. The drinks are also delicious. !

This was the worse dinner experience Food was frozen and old. Hair was found in the dishes. And the waitress stated. Sorry you didn't like the food. Excuse me. Hair and food was frozen. Expensive menu. All items were $18.99 or higher. Not worth the trip Just read the reviews. Same complaints as we had. Old frozen gross food! Don't waste your money. Staff is clueless on customer service. Slow service. We waited 1 1/2 hours before we ate !!!
