My husband noticed this hidden gem while at Mother's over the holidays. He brought home a few goodies from their extensive selection, which were all delicious. This past Saturday a friend and I met there for brunch, ordered coffee, an iced chai, avo toast, a big ol' cheddar chive biscuit, and a cinnamon pull-apart. The salad and fruit accompanying the avo toast was fresh and tasty; the cinnamon bun was perfectly iced, which for me means little icing. The dough was dense and chewy. So again, everything was delicious! The warm, over-the-top-sweet, multi-tasking Brooke was so kind and patient as we made several changes to our order as we kept seeing interesting options! When she brought us our food, she had even divided each dish onto two plates - equally and identically dressed! Like - who even does that? At best you're just brought an extra plate to do it yourself! We spent quite a while at an indoor table, and never felt rushed to leave. We had an opportunity to chat with Brooke for a few minutes on our way out as yes, we both bought items to take home. Darling!!I love the cottage, and that they've truly made it feel like a neighborhood place to hang out. Sure, parking is a little tight and my tires were dusty as another yelper mentioned. But that's the stuff my husband lives for, so ... no biggie. We'll definitely be back soon!

Absolutely loveee crocker's cafe! It's tucked away on 19th street across from Mother's, it almost looks hidden. They have great outdoor seating in the front and behind the house. It's quiet and cozy and the service is great. They have a big menu selection with breakfast and lunch options, along with a tasty selection of freshly made pastries and sweet treats! I usually order the Biscuits and gravy, I give it a 9/10 only because the gravy is a little liquidy. The cinnamon rolls are huge but so good. The chai is really good too!

Ambiance: This is a cute small hole in the wall spot that you could definitely miss if you aren't searching for it. But it is the cutest outdoor garden brunch spot that I've found so far. The back outdoor seating was in a gorgeous tucked away garden area with native plants growing and buzzing bees. It was so relaxing and great for Sunday morning brunch photos. Food: My meal was delicious. I had a breakfast biscuit with cheese, eggs, and bacon on their cheddar cheese and chive biscuit. The biscuit was so flaky and buttery. The sandwich itself was very big! The amount of food was definitely worth the price. I will definitely be back to try more of their menu items!

In more of a residential area. There are a few tight parking spots in the back if you go up the driveway, but difficult to get in and out of, plus it's a dirt lot, so your car won't be very clean when you leave (at least your tires won't). Red curbs in front, so you'll have to walk a bit if you park elsewhere. Casual atmosphere. Mostly outdoor seating in pretty gardens - both front and back yard. A few tiny tables inside. Order at the register and they bring your food to you. Slow, but friendly service. We waited 5+ minutes just to place an order and we were the only ones waiting. Not even a line and still took that long.Food and drink were great, though! We went for breakfast and got BLTA with egg and avocado smash biscuit (egg, cheese, and bacon), along with latte and hot chocolate. Super pricey, though. $50 with tax and small tip included as of May 2024 for two sandwiches and non-alcoholic drinks is insane!

What a hidden gem! This unassuming house is actually an adorable cafe that has quite an extensive menu. I would definitely say there is something for everyone here. Coffee, some cocktails, smoothies, egg dishes, pancakes, biscuits, cinnamon rolls, sandwiches, salads, burgers, sausages. So yeah something for everyone. I tried the biscuit breakfast sandwich. Get it if it's on your radar. Won't be disappointed. Baked goods can vary by day all look amazing. Did I mention the most adorable garden in both the front and the back.

Part of me does not want to review Crocker's Cafe as it deserves an A+. I am concerned that the cafe might become too crowded and popular.A couple of days ago was my first time here. The courtyard is small and beautiful. It had an English look to it.Inside there were a couple of tables and an area to order your food and drink. The coffee cake was okay. It could have used more of its crumbled topping. The combo quiche was excellent. The size of the dish was large and it was filling. I enjoyed it so much I ordered an entire quiche to take home.Yes, parking is a problem. Additionally, you have to carefully look for the cafe to find it. Despite these elements, it is well worth a visit.

Is this the best breakfast place in Costa Mesa?!?! -Quite possibly! Literally a hole in the wall, but usually the best places are. The quaint atmosphere makes you feel like you're in some cottage on the coast with beautiful outdoor seating, and a secret garden in the back. Now the food. Words can't describe how delicious this place was. We got the chilaquiles with the salsa they make in house. It was wonderfully warm and generously portioned. The cheddar biscuit was heavenly. The avocado toast with a poached egg not only tasted amazing but felt amazing. Their bakery items were not only perfection, but giant! The peanut butter bar wasn't overly sweet, the lemon bar was delightfully thick, and the apple pie was perfectly tart. The drinks were equally refreshing and you could tell were made with care. Brooke, our new favorite server, has a presence that literally brightens up the place. We were immediately greeted with a warm smile and taken care of like we were visiting her home. She knew what we wanted before we even did, literally taking the words out of our mouth. We'd come back even if it was just to see her. Overall: amazing place, delicious food, and great service. We're literally coming back tomorrow

I love this place!! It's such a cute little corner of Newport that feels like eating in a fairy garden cafe. The food is incredible (not to mention the vast choices of food and drink items)! On top of that, the staff is extremely kind and accommodating, even with food modifications. I highly recommend checking this place out!

Such a wonderful discovery for breakfast, brunch or lunch.... ESPECIALLY Since, they offer an array of Gluten Free (GF) Bakery items, e.g., Gluten Free Muffins and Coffee Cakes. After Breakfast, we BOT a sampling of their GF bakes and brought them home, where, they somehow disappeared before I, this writer, could taste them. My wife, Emily, simply smiled when I asked, "Where are the Crocker GF Muffins?" She reported/boasted without hesitation, "Simply the best GF treats...ever!!!."From our experience, it is so challenging to find GF items that taste great and have no GF after-taste . Crocker's has truly mastered the challenges presented by GF baking. On Friday January 31st, we enjoyed their coffee and savored their Balboa Burrito.STAFF: Since we were new to Crocker's the young lady who took our order was beyond helpful as a few of our questions needed to be answered by the chef. And Yes! the Parking is tight, so plan ahead and park around the corner and stroll the neighborhood on your way back to their front patio.PS Oh! And I agree with Bruce C's review from last July, and thought what "fun" (sic) it would be to give the Crocker's a one star score so as to lesson its popularity. WRONG, becuz it truly deserves a score of 10/10, BECAUSE, It is that special...
