Susan O. "*HALAL FRIENDLY* (of course!)Top notch Afghan market for a vast variety of your needs and at a GREAT price! Upon entry, the owner of this lovely market was incredibly welcoming & showed us the wide array of products from food to clothing to decor to appliances and more. If there's any specific need you have, I'm nearly certain they'd have it - simply ask the staff who are happy to point you towards your needs or give them a call if you really want to be sure! I was personally wowed by the price differences at this market in comparison to the nearby competitor markets...Kabul Super Market is a steal! Definitely will be returning and I encourage everyone to make this your go-to spot!"

They have a variety of German as well as British items, this was so fun since I am from Germany. Prices are a bit high, but considering they have to be imported I feel it is absolutely fair. Highly recommend it if you are looking for something different to snack on or cook with as well. Plenty of easy parking!"

Brenda L. "The good:I got lunar new year (or tet) dragon wall decor from here for $7. They had a variety of options that included lanterns and dragon-themed paper posters. There's plenty of parking here. They have a hot ready to take out food section in the front left. They played classic Vietnamese songs. The vegetable section was really neatly organized, full, clean and healthy looking. This store was cleaner than the other ABC location. The bad:I'm not sure why all of the Asian grocery stores have security guards. Perhaps, to prevent hate crimes? I have no idea but it must be bad or there must've been a bad incident if they need one. The interesting; There were ao dai (Vietnamese traditional clothing) sold outside for $10 but I think it belongs to the small shop next to the market rather than to the market."

Jason Y. "This place is in a decent sized plaza and stumbled upon the market when I was searching for a supermarket to grab an energy drink. I was impressed by the cleanliness of the market and most items looked organized and fully stocked. Upon entering, there are some pastries and baked good on the left hand side of the store selling items such as conchas and galletas. There's a bakery with premade cakes (and varieties of tres leches) as well as a hot food area. There was a special for pupusas revueltas and I decided to give it a try as I was already in the market. The pupusas were fairly large in size and 1 pupusa could easily be for an individual lunch. Pupusas were priced about $3+ per pupusa, as the price of two pupusas came out to just under $8. The salsa and curtido that came with the order was also a nice pairing. Service was real great and both the hot food counter associate and the cashier were real patient with me even though I did not speak Spanish. For example, the lady who made my pupusas made sure to ask if I wanted salsa on the side as well as utensils with my take out.I can't say much for the variety of products in the market as I'm not familiar with Hispanic cuisine and ingredients, but the produce section neighboring the hot food area/bakery looked appealing and the prices seemed relatively low compared to a mainstream grocery store. I had also purchased a single Buñuelo from the bakery area that was nearly the size of my head and it was less than $1. Cool market, nice selection from the bakery/hot food section (from my perspective), and the associates are friendly and welcoming."

Tawny V. "Crown Valley Market is a quaint little shop that, while a bit on the smaller side, has some unique offerings worth mentioning. However, I must say that my overall experience was a mix of highs and lows.Let's start with the highlight: the freshly made Sangak bread. I can't recommend it enough! This traditional Persian flatbread is made right on-site and is indeed to die for. The texture is perfect--crispy on the outside with a soft, warm, and slightly chewy interior. It pairs wonderfully with so many dishes and is worth making a trip for if you're craving fresh bread. If you happen to be in the area, do yourself a favor and pick some up; you won't regret it!That being said, when it comes to the rest of the offerings at Crown Valley Market, there's definitely room for improvement. The prices for produce and meats are pretty standard, and honestly, I found it hard to justify driving out of my way for items that I could easily find at larger grocery stores for similar or better deals. In fact, I was hoping to snag some great bargains, especially on meats, but I was disappointed to find that there weren't any significant offers. If you're local or simply passing through, definitely stop in for the Sangak, but perhaps keep your expectations in check for the rest of the offerings. Overall, while I appreciate the charm of this small market, I wish they had more competitive pricing and variety to make it a go-to destination beyond that delicious bread!"

You'll always get excellent fruits and vegetables here - far better than any supermarket whether Bristol Farms or Whole Foods. Their product slaps and that's because their clientele demands high quality produce. If you're into anything Turkish or Middle Eastern from a market standpoint, they got you covered. Olives, beans, lentils, tons of sweets and chocolates, butters and milks, kefirs, the absolute best Turkish filo doughs, fresh breads baked daily, dates and nuts, dried fruits, and epic Feta cheese in the small deli section. Finally, the prices are beyond reasonable. Quality and great pricing, this is a hidden gem and one of the best markets around."

Toni L. "After visiting Bangkok & eating authentic Thai foods, I was determined to try some Thai cooking after I got back from my trip. Out of all the asian foods, I'm actually not that familiar with Thai, even though its probably the most common eaten here in the states. When I find recipes I try to purchase ingredients with as little English as possible on the packaging, then you know it's the real deal. Tonight I needed items for gai yang & one ingredient that is very hard to find is coriander roots. Coriander root is essentially cilantro with the root attached - seems very basic but for some reason it's a rarity at all the asian stores, yes even HMart, & 99 Ranch, & nonexistent even Vietnamese markets. Apparently it's not used very often, but in Thai cooking it's very common. Thank goodness for this little gem of a store - I was in luck & called the day before to confirm if they carried it. This kind lady answered & said they have LOTS... so off I went to visit the store. I don't live in the area & the hours of the store aren't convenient at all - closing at 5, I went in around noon. The same lady that answered the phone saw me & helped me right away - how kind she was ! She never made me feel like I was being ignored, & didn't watch me like a hawk either, which always makes me feel uncomfortable. What else did I find in this lil place ? Ya nang leaves, Prahok, Mum Papaya salad sauce, healthy boy brand soy sauces, special thai lays such as mayonnaise flavor. I also was happy to find that they carried palm sugar - yes other asian stores has this but it's usually in concrete brick form. I was specifically looking for the buttery fresh liquidy palm sugar & I found a jar ! This is your spot for your hard-to-find-ingredients ! I am in love this store & I wish there were more Thai markets like this one. I will for sure be returning back for more rare Thai ingredients, everything is so well priced, so be sure to support this local small business !"

There is no place to eat inside the market but there are several tables and chairs just outside the doors. From my experience, it's a 50-50 chance whether the person behind the counter can speak English or not, so today I had to use the point method to order. Truth be told, I suspect her English is better than my Spanish, just saying. My favorite item here is chicharron salsa ranchers. But they have pozole and other guisados (soups) and menudo on weekends, plus tacos, burritos, tortas, quesadillas, and combo plates too. The market includes a dried fruits and nuts bar, which is a nice touch for those looking to try a variety of flavors. While the parking lot is small and can be a bit hectic due to the high volume of customers, the vibrant atmosphere is part of its charm.I initially considered giving them 3 stars, service is quite slow, and not all veggies are affordable. Easy parking lot, not too crowded. Super friendly nice staff.I specifically came here because Les S. mentioned a good deal for their sliced meat for DIY hot pot/shabu shabu. On the day of my visit, there was a deal for $14.99 American Wagyu Chuck Roll. Significantly cheaper than other markets on sliced meats. I also got some sliced angus beef and sliced pork while I was in the meat area. There was staff refilling the meats and he was super friendly and nice. Ohh and 20% off meats on Fridays! They also had pre-cut Kabocha Squash for $1.99/lb. Wow I loveeee the kabocha squash but I dread cutting it. It's like a vigorous work out cause this squash has a thick skin and I struggle each time. I was sooooo happy it was pre-cut so I can eat to my heart's delight. I also saw the Akai Kitsune Udon noodles on sale for $2.99 so I got a few of those too. All of the ingredients were delicious for our New Years Eve DIY hot pot feast at home. Very quality :) A small market with good deals. As Les S. mentioned there are some items that go for about average pricing, but they have some killer deals. I especially love how their staff was so nice. As I was browsing around they were friendly and welcoming, and as I checked out they were courteous and helpful. Feels like a community around here. Sandra L. "If you are still buying chorizo from store brands such as Cacique and El Mexicano, just stop. Stop hurting your body and come to Aurora's Chorizo because they make great tasting quality chorizo!I may not know the true difference between authentic versus non-authentic chorizo, but having had the best tasting chorizo from a wedding I attended in Guadalajara, Mexico, none of the chorizo at the supermarkets comes close. Have you ever cooked chorizo where it's a pool of orange oil and the chorizo still looks wet and mushy where you can't tell if it's cooked or not? Well, not with Aurora's! Aurora's Chorizo is leaner and retains its shape and locks in the flavor of the seasonings so much better than any chorizo I've worked with. You can't go wrong with any of their chorizo options here, but I recommend Chorizo Picoso which is the spiciest one they offer and the Chorizo Verde. Chorizo Verde is unique to me and honestly, the green is scary, yet intriguing. The Verde is comprised of green herbs and chilies (serrano and jalapeno) and it is the most fragrant/flavorful chorizo! My hubby and I loved this one! Chorizo here is so fragrant that on the ride home, our car was filled with the smell of the seasoning even though we kept it in cooler with ice and locked away in the trunk. Keep in mind they don't use preservatives so it's best to cook within a day or two or freeze it. See my photos for pricing! The lady who helped us was super sweet and friendly. She took the time to explain every option to us. I also picked up a Salsa Roja and Oaxaca cheese. Both were housemade and they are good! If you're in the market for Oaxaca cheese, try this one - it's fresh, texture is perfect, and the flavor is on point! $9.99/pound of Oaxaca cheese is a bit pricey to me, but it is so good compared to the ones from the market.I cannot recommend this place enough! Walking straight into the establishment, you'll see where to order. You order the food, you are handed your receipt and pay after. To pay is the rotating table you see at a grocery store, and it's near the point of entry. You don't wait too long for the food. My friend is vegetarian, so she ordered 3 Espinaca (spinach) empanadas.I had ordered one Carne (beef) empanada and one Espinaca (spinach) empanada. We ordered it with spicy chimichurri. It's not that spicy but there's a nice gentle kick to the palate. Trust me when I say I am sensitive to spicy foods. So this passes the spice test. Also, disclaimer to the chimichurri sauce, it is oily, so be careful. We asked for a spoon so we can add it into our empanadas. It was my first time here and the empanadas were so delicious and thick. I only could handle two.The people that sat near our table had ordered the turkey sandwich and it was massive. Their selection of vegetables common across the cuisines were great, and at really great prices. But things specific to a non-Vietnamese cuisine, they did not have (things like kimchi and soybean sprouts that I needed). But if you want to gather supplies for Pho, this is the place. First, after reading some of the reviews, I definitely want to give this place another try just because supporting small businesses is my jam. If only I spoke Tagalog perhaps that would change the vibe of service I received. The selection of food was vast and none of it labeled. Also, I think covering items with cling wrap would help keep the dishes looking better than the film of dried food on top. I wasn't acknowledged until I kept looking back and forth. The only discernible item was pancit and I just opted for the empanadas laid out in front of the register. Again, disappointment. I had suggested this place to my parents for catering for a family reunion but until I give it another try (with someone who can speak Tagalog) I rescind my recommendation. Later I noticed the empanadas had a note to store in the fridge. I bought it in the afternoon and it was displayed in front of the register. It's a family-friendly place with plenty of parking and wheelchair accessibility, making it convenient for everyone.Overall, Jordan Supermarket is truly a hidden gem. It's more than just a grocery store, it's an experience. From the incredible selection and quality to the exceptional customer service, they have everything I could possibly need. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for great products and a positive shopping experience!"

Toni L. "Oh I wanted to give this a higher rating !! OC doesn't have a thai/laos/khmer market - you gotta make the drive to long beach to get the goodies unforunately. I didn't feel like making the drive to long beach & was in need of limestone paste for my hat yai chicken. It's a specialty ingredient used in Thai cooking to aid in crispiness - don't think it's available in chinese, korean or vietnamese stores. I was in luck & had it ! While there I took a look at everything else. They also carry (somewhat) hard to find Pantai Budoo fermented fish sauce. They don't carry holy basil :( or coriander root. They had a fun Thai fruit punch Fanta so gave that a try. The store is cute but I feel has much more potential !! Wish they had more product. Cash only !"
