"We waited a short while since it was Friday evening. We were seated within 10 minutes. We sat on the patio. We were quickly greeted at the table with bread and water. We selected the Seafood Fettuccine and Chicken Parmigiana. Both meals came out quickly and were good sized portions. Both were delicious. We were checked on frequently. All the accompaniments were on the table already. Waters were kept full! Service with a smile. Took home portions of each since we got full part way through. Great for leftovers. We also ordered a lasagna to go. Both salad and lasagna was great also."

"Freddy's Delis is certainly a 5+ Star establishment. The "plus" is a nod to Freddy being friendly and appears to remember the names of his returning clients. It kind of gives off a Cheers vibe, where everyone knows your name. Freddy's Deli is a small kiosk embedded inside a business building and most of his customer inside this office is enough to keep him busy. The sandwich is set up like a bar - see the stools you can eat at the counter or four small tables along the wall. Unless you know this café, it's hidden from street and certainly not widely advertise. Once you walk in, you're see small tables and turn the corner to see the counter. The menu is small with weekly specials. I stopped by for late lunch and wanted something light, Freddy was working alongside his cooks. He's made me a grilled cheese and gave me a free coup on the side. If you're looking for a place with not just great sandwiches, but even greater people - cooks are very interactive, look no further than Freddy's Deli! Freddy himself makes sure to greet you with a smile and a personal touch that makes you feel like you're a regular, even if it's your first visit, like me. It's rare to find a place where the customer service is so warm, welcoming, and genuinely friendly--everyone here goes above and beyond to make you feel like a friend, not just a customer. Unless I caught them on a really good day, and only two other customers, this place sure makes you feel value. Whether you're grabbing something to go or sitting down during your lunch break, this is the place to be and to support a small business owner. I try to stop by month but after the lunch peak hours."

"I've had this spot on my radar ever since they opened up and was not disappointed from their reviews and pictures posted. I finally got the opportunity to try this place out this past Friday and I was pleasantly surprised.I got there just before 11 AM and I was the only person in there at the time. Once I put my order in, the lady working was very pleasant to talk to and she struck up a conversation with me. We talked about various topics and brought up that her brother actually owns this joint along with another shop nearby that I absolutely loved, La Carniceria Wagyu. It made sense because they share menu items including their wagyu pastrami sandwich. That got me super excited because I knew they use fresh, quality ingredients.I ordered their Prime Ribeye Cheesesteak Sandwich for myself and I was amazed by how flavorful everything was. I loved the little kick from the spicy Italian relish. Everything worked so well together and the little side salad included with their balsamic vinaigrette was absolutely delicious!100% recommended. I will definitely be back again to try more of their offerings!"

The lobster was perfect but the top split roll was like none I had ever had in all of New England!If God were ordering a lobster roll he would order it on this roll (known as a Kobe roll) from Maisano's Italian Bakery in Garden Grove!Don't let the fact they sell primarily to businesses stop you from buying all your bread fresh from these guys made to order a day in advance!No preservatives, the best hot dog & hamburger buns I have ever had! You can even order slider, hamburger or hot dog buns in white, wheat, Kobe or squaw!I don't think I will buy bread anywhere else from now on. Makes every hot dog, hamburger or sandwich exceptional!"

I'm so so grateful Olives is within walking distance from me. I have yet to find a sandwich in the Long Beach area I enjoy more than the Baja club at Olives, lol. Atmosphere: cute little store with groceries, prepared foods, and sandwiches made to order. I often use their app to order the sandwiches ahead of time. Food: I've tried numerous sandwiches here, and all are super solid. Fresh ingredients, lots of flavor, and large portions (I.e. you could save half the sandwich for later). I am a fan of their paninis, since they are warm and crispy, but my top notch sandwich is the Baja club, which has smoked turkey, pepper jack cheese, bacon, avocado, lettuce, tomato, and green chili aioli in a baguette. The flavors all mend together perfectly on a fresh and soft baguette, and I love the crispness of the bacon with the smooth textures of the avocado. The aioli is an added nice touch as well. It's just such a damn near perfect sandwich. And it's large!!! It's about $13 but well worth it as you can split the sandwich into two meals or share a sandwich between two people (or just be greedy and live your life and eat the whole damn sandwich).I can also vouch for their chocolate cake slices. Decadent and delicious! I need to try their prepared foods next time. They have premade items like lasagna etc that you can take home and warm up as needed, and it looks pretty good. Services is extremely friendly and accommodating anytime I purchase something there. Only gripe is parking can be a pain as there is only street parking, but over all, nothing else to complain about."

I still drive out of my way on my days off for a sandwich here. As a mom and pop joint, the simplicity of Joe's shop with indoor seating (as well as an outdoor table) makes it nostalgic and comforting. Unfortunately, there's not many places like Joe's anymore."
