This continues to be my favorite Japanese bakery in the area. They regularly update the menu and have even added an evening menu which I have yet to try. The new menu has updated the sandwiches to using shokupan as bread instead of the rustic bread. They are nicely toasty and the fillings are still excellent. I got the pork belly sandwich and it continues to be one of my favorites. The pork is nice and tender and quite fatty. I love the crunch from the purple cabbage and the mustard dressing works great with the flavor of the pork belly. The bakery was extremely busy when I went on a Sunday afternoon. Both the inside and outside eating areas were packed. I was very lucky to have found a spot to sit down. The bakery items were mostly sold out so if you want to get the baked items you'll need to get there early or go during the week. They did have cheesecake so I took a piece of hojicha cheesecake home. It was rich and creamy with a nice strong tea flavor. The texture reminded me of NY style cheesecake which is my favorite. I will try the matcha cheesecake the next time!

One of the best sandwiches in recent memory (aside from work in progress + brew story)Cute cafe with some small candles, fresh coffee beans, small snacks + dipsQuality Japanese baked goods with tranquil musicSandwiches range from $16-$18, but are worth! Also comes with a yummy salad. Also have rice bowls and drinks/caffeinated drinks ==========Food and atmosphere are great here!Service is very sweet and friendly.Upon entry, the place smells glorious. They took out a fresh baked hojicha cheesecake and my nose was so happy. In the past, I've gotten a walnut cheese bread here and tho it was kinda pricey $5-$6? It was very high in quality. It was chock full of walnuts and lots of salty cheese bits throughout.I shared a roast beef sandwich with my friend, and tho two girls ate the entire half easy, it was well worth the $18Their meat used is prime, juicy, and flavorful. My pet peeve is when the protein just tastes like boiled protein - here, it is definitely not that. I very much enjoyed the sandwich with the kick of wasabi aioli (the smell went a teensy bit up my nose), and freshnesss from greens and tomato. The bread was fluffy and slightly sweet, it ranks very high in my bread world. I will grab a loaf when I run out of bread in my freezer!Side saladNot just lettuce, but a spring mix with crunchy rice crackers? And a light sesame dressing - none of that prepackaged stuff - delish!Cheesecake $8the slice is quite large and every bite was very yummy. It leans on the milky side and there's a soft tang with vanilla undertone. Somewhat dense, more creamy, but not gooey soft. I was expecting a basque cheesecake by the looks, but it's not as caramelized. Cannot wait to try the hojicha! Regular is their best seller.Lemon brioche $4We ate this warm and it was fantastic. Very fluffy and plush, with lemon zest speckled in-between the bread. Sharing a half made me appreciate it hahaOh and I think I found a wonderful study spot :x dogs can be outside as well!A little sad they changed their menu and removed curries/tacos, but I guess better something than nothing.

I was on a work trip that took me to Irvine CA. I was wrapping up my work week and was on my way to John Wayne Airport to head home to Chicago. I decided to make a last minute stop at Brio Brio cafe since my hotel was 5 minutes away and I needed a Matcha Latte. I tried the strawberry matcha latte with Oat Milk and it was good but not my favorite as it had an earthy aftertaste. The strawberry tasted like a jam that needed some good stirring to help provide a bit of sweetness. I would give it a 7/10. I may have just not ordered the right thing but I was hoping for more of creamy matcha latte. But what I regret not getting more of was the lemon brioche muffin and the ham and artichoke cheese pastry. Wow they were so good. I got one of each to take back home to Chicago with me. Definitely would highly recommend their pastries. I would go back if I am ever in the area again.

We had high expectations for Brio Brio and it did not disappoint!! What we ordered + ratings: - Roast Beef sando (10/10): SO GOOD!! The wasabi mayo added a nice flavor and the portion was enough for 2, especially if you want to try their pastries. Will definitely be getting this again! - Beef curry pan (8.5/10): Rich flavor and flakey breading! - Matcha cookie (10/10): It's HUGE. Loved the strong matcha flavor of the top layer and the filling inside- Milk custard bread (5/10): we thought the bread was too dense as we were expecting it to be more airy and light - Matcha latte (10/10): Strong, rich matcha flavor and it was perfectly sweetened. I got the hot latte for a stronger matcha flavor (and it's $6.5 for hot vs. $7.5 for iced) I can't wait to come back and try more items on their menu! This place is definitely worth the wait!

Brio Brio Bakery is 100% a community hit! Went Sunday morning and there was a line out the door and wrapped around the corner! We decided to wait because it had to be good with this kind of line. The service was very nice and helpful, however they definitely needed another employee to help out the girl taking orders and getting pastries/heating food. I think the line would have flown by faster with an extra pair of hands. The food and drinks however were worth the wait! We got the yuzu cheese bread which was sweet and tart. If you love lemon pastries you'll love this. For a savory choice we got the artichoke, ham, and cheese bread which was so yum. To drink I tried an iced matcha with almond milk and vanilla 1/2 sweet and it was super tasty. I was happy with the matcha to milk ratio. My dad got a cappuccino and was very happy with it!

Such a cute Japanese bakery tucked into Orange area! I highly recommend checking this spot out the sandwiches, matcha and everything from the pastries were delish. We got matcha lattes, and the Sandos which their bread was so soft & the right enough texture of crunch! Service although sometimes there is a wait, it's super efficient & the staff is kind enough to explain the menu.

Very friendly employees and great vibes. I had a matcha scone and a strawberry matcha latte (unsweetened). The scone was amazing! Probably would get the matcha drink with a bit of sugar next time so that it looks more green.

Brio Brio is a charming neighborhood Japanese bakery offering unique pastries and beverages! We arrived later in the day, so many pastries were already sold out, but I'm so glad I got to try the Hojicha cheesecake--it was incredibly dense and packed with flavor. We also ordered the sausage bread and the artichoke bread, both of which were delicious. For drinks, we had the Hojicha Latte and the Iced Matcha Yuzu Lemonade, and both exceeded expectations! I also noticed they sell Mameya coffee beans, a Brio Brio Blend--such a cool collaboration.I'll definitely be back to try their coffee and more of their baked goods. This place is a gem!

I have passed this place so many times, but I finally have had the opportunity to stop by on a weekend. Very busy bakery, but with the wait, I was able to build up an appetite lol. i would have to say in comparison to other japanese bakeries, they have less variety for baked pastries and desserts, but this is where their quality shines through. I was thoroughly impressed with their Matcha Cookie Cream pastry, in which was filled with a bold matcha cream that had the perfect sweetness. The cookie topping which reminded me of a traditional Chinese pineapple bun or a topping to a concha, was so good. Their custard flan tasted homemade and had a very unique texture. Loved how it's served in a glass container, in which I love cause you can reuse it. The beef curry pan was probably the BEST I have ever had! Brio Brio's pan is filled with generous chunks of tender beef in comparison to some of its competitors. The kurabata sausage cheese bread was good, but I am greedy and wish there was more sausage! The sausage was of very good quality and had a nice snap. I want to come back to try their sandwiches and basque cheesecake, looked very good, and I DON'T EVEN LIKE CHEESECAKE lol. Oh, and i also want to try out their dinner menu! Have heard many great things about it.The whole bakery/cafe is cute and has limited indoor seating but plenty of outdoor seating.
